Requested move[edit]

Mega Man Battle Network → MegaMan Battle Network. Although in every other Mega Man series the title character is spelt with a space, this one has the titular character in CamelCase by convention. Thus "Mega Man" is in fact incorrect (this can be verified through in-game sources as well as official sources). kelvSYC 06:50, 17 Jun 2005 (UTC)

While I personally would go further and say that in the rest of the games, the correct spelling is also spaceless (but not capitalised, ie "Megaman"), the majority of the community here wishes to be consistent in spacing out the names. In regards to whether or not "Mega Man" should be spelled with or without a space, and with or without CamelCase, The following couple of sentences are a tad confusing. I came across this article simply wishing to know a bit more about Mega Man, so I ask the one who know more than I for assistance in clearing up these sentences.

"This spinoff combines elements of the classic Mega Man stories with the high-tech world of computers, and thus CamelCase is predominantly used. As such, this is the only series in which "MegaMan" is correctly spelt without the space."

I find it confusing as in the first sentence, Mega Man is spelled like so, without the space, then changes and says the latter version is correct.--Snaxe920 08:02, August 27, 2005 (UTC)

Discussion[edit]

There has to be either a series page like this or one page named "battle network" with all the games on it. I believe that there is enough to put on the pages of each game provided you combine the ones with two versions, like red and blue. There is a different story for each game, and there should be a taxobox for each game on "MegaMan Battle Network" if you want to move it back. Mr. Famous[edit]

In every game since the first, NetNavis used by Mr. Famous were created by fans of the series, being winners of design contests from Capcom. I don't think that setence is entirely correct. First of all, Mr. Famous was not in the first game (he debuted in BN2 with GateMan.EXE as his Navi). Second, in BN3, his Navi was Punk.EXE, which is based off of the original series' Punk. Though, while Punk.EXE is based off of that Punk, he might have also been a contest entry as well (I'm not sure about this).

"Pure Fiction"[edit]

"Pure fiction", is it? I don't think so. What did everyone think around 1987 would be the next great stepping stone? A fully animatronic android, able to act like a human. Fiction has a basis in reality. How many works of fiction around there depicted a world where humans have built androids? That fiction is a reflection of society's views of the time. The paragraph was true: Until the invention of the Internet, everyone thought that the next great invention would be a robot. Look at newspapers, journals, research logs. What did they, at one point or another, say what they thought the future would be like? Robotics would be the central pillar around our civilization. What was science working towards? An animatronic android.

No one predicted the internet. It was completely unexpected. And so, our dreams shifted from androids to networks, and Mega Man, a product of fiction of 1987, an android, was reenvisioned as a highly complex program that protects the world from extremely advanced computer viruses. The paragraph was completely true. I'm reenserting it.

Matter of Opinion[edit]

I removed the last sentance in the Megaman Battle Network 4 summary that read "It's a really great, entertaining game." This is purely a matter of opinion- in fact, MMBN4 turned off many hardcore players, including myself, from the series. If anything, there should be a bit of info about how although 3 just added stuff to 2, and 2 to 1, 4 removed many gameplay points from 3, such as the elemental styles and navi blocks, which allowed a great deal of player customization.

As a side point, these paragraphs could really use some tidying up.

DS game?[edit]

A DS game taking place after the Battle Network series? Interesting. Maybe it'll be like 30 years later and star Lan's kids or something.

change in bass's (Forte's) deletion[edit]

Yes I changed what they said about bass going out with the net in battle network six but still the net was never destroyed was it? unless the force programs explosion did it?

you could use some better spelling, and please sign your posts, after the final secret boss fight with Bass in BN6 Bass is apparently deleted, however Lan states quite clearly that they would see him again, so the destruction of the net likely didn't kill him. I fixed all of the spelling errors in this, hopefully making it easier to read. If you consider the fight against Forte SP the final secret fight in the game, you are sadly mistaken. And yes, they do see Forte again, as Forte BX. Since the internet was never destroyed in Battle Network 6, There should be no question about this. Naming Conventions[edit]

Why exactly is it that every time the word Mega Man is used it's followed by (Rock Man)? Last I checked, this was the ENGLISH Wikipedia, not the Japanese one. 4.5[edit]

Maybe in the box at the bottom beside BCC and Network Transmission we should put 4.5 under the title Real Operation. Despite the fact it wasn't released as here it is a gaiden like the other two.

Sorry about that, new to standards in Wikipedia and all that junk. I don't recall a statement being made that the internet was destroyed, though. In fact, quite the opposite. Netto became a scientist to make the internet GROW. Dr. Wily created two new systems for destroying viruses and repairing damage, which also increased Net society's movements. If you mean that the internet was removed to make way for the Radio World, I don't believe it's something necessary to state. BN5 Protoman, too[edit]

So far, there have been only three Mega Man X character crossovers in the series: Zero, who appeared in MegaMan Network Transmission as one of the characters, Colonel (from Mega Man X4) in MegaMan Battle Network 5: Team Colonel (and again in both versions of MegaMan Battle Network 6), and Iris, who is based on the character of the same name from Mega Man X4. Her relationship with Colonel is mirrored from their relationship in the X series.

I am thinking about publishing character pages but which ones?[edit]

I am thinking about adding Lan, Chaud, Baryl, Colonel, Serenade, Dusk, Shadowman, Raika, Searchman, Dingo, Tomahawkman, Dark Scythe, and Killerman since Megaman, Bass, Protoman, Zero, and Roll already have their pages established within the Classic counterparts.

Should there really be character pages? It will determine how much content, resources, and other materials are found.

Waiting until a unanimous vote is decided.

You need a certain amount of reliable sources before you can even consider doing this. Please make sure you're familiar with Wikipedia:Notability. Just based on that alone I can say that the majority of those characters will not pass the notability requirement.
