With Regard to the English Dub[edit]

The English dub just recently premiered (as of this writing). For this reason, I added the word "currently" to the article. It "currently" features a more fathful translation than the Rockman EXE anime. For all we know, this could change down the road. I ask that this be left in place for the time being. Please try to understand that after the way English version of the EXE anime was handled, there's no telling what will happen here. I'm thinking about this show and this article in the long term. Again, I humbly request that this be left in place. Brittany Ka 22:54, 1 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • Although I figure it's pretty unlikely that Viz would transition from an accurate dub to an unfaithful one down the road (it's usually the other way around), I understand where you're coming from and see no problems with the inclusion of that single word. It's not that big a deal. :) -Crimsonseiko 04:36, 5 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Get trivia section back.[edit]

From the history, I've seen comments about the minor trivia, such as Roll's casket and a boy wearing Lan's clothes. These minor points should be classified under trivia. However, the trivia section was removed for an unknown reason. Lately, the cold opening is added as well considering it's true. I was wondering why can't we have the trivia section back like before. We shouldn't be removing minor facts for any reason. Can somebody please explain the reasons because there seems to be adding and removing facts and I don't like consant changing at all. I really want explanations and settle these matters once and for all. Willbender 08:54, 24 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Trivia sections, per WP:TRIVIA should be avoided at all costs. This is why the article will no have a trivia section, at all, ever. The cold opening thing isn't important to mention because we don't know if it was just for 48 and 49. If the rest of the episodes are like this...then it might need mentioned. -Sukecchi 10:07, 24 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, what are we going to do with the messages such as Roll casket and Lan's clothing. Should we remove it as well? Willbender 10:40, 24 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
No, see, what WP:Trivia says is if the article has a trivia section, it's best to attempt to work any trivia into the article. User:Crimsonseiko succeeded in this by mentioning Roll Casket and Netto's clothing as easter eggs in the production section. In there, it's fine, but anywhere else...not really. Now, this doesn't mean you can add everything that was in a trivia section in the past to an article. You have to make sure it makes sense and it's not thrown in there all willy nilly, buku. -Sukecchi 11:33, 24 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Literal translation of Ryuusei no Rockman[edit]

Currently, the literal translation says "Shooting Star Rockman". Shouldn't it be more literal if it's "Rockman of the Shooting Star"? Since the particle 'no' represents assets or ownership, or 'of' and various other misc uses, I think it should be "Rockman of the Shooting Star". What do you think?

RollEXE 09:25, 25 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It's still technically correct (for example, "midori no hi" makes "Greenery Day"), and Shooting Star Rockman is even official.[1]Loveはドコ? (talkcontribs) 12:51, 25 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
It's official? Then I'm satisfied. RollEXE 09:11, 28 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Should we add the missing opening?[edit]

Since episodes 48 and 49 removed the opening but episode 50 had it back, should it be mentioned? Willbender 07:21, 28 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

We could, since it could be hinting at something. RollEXE 09:10, 28 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
No. Once again...it's not important. Do you really think that's worth mentioning for two episodes? Think about it: what merit does mentioning that have for the article? "Oh...episodes 48 and 49 had a short opening...oh well." There's no information you could include with this...no trivia sections either. Also "hinting at something"? You're speculating. -Sukecchi 09:40, 28 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Tribe... Tribe... Tribe...[edit]

So, it's going to happen soon, and we'll need to take action. Tribe is premiering in a month, and when it does, the article is going to need to be largely rewritten to focus moreso on the entire Star Force anime franchise, not just the first 55-episode series. I'm not totally sure how we should go about it yet, but something similar to MegaMan NT Warrior's page is how I'd like to do it. Here are my ideas...

  • First of all, this article will only be for the first 55 episodes, and nothing from Tribe. I've spruced it up a bit to reflect that, and I left links to a future Tribe episode list page (so please don't remove those yet, even though they're broken). I can go ahead and make a Tribe episode list page, but... We only have one episode title, nothing more, so I figure it's a bit premature to do it now.
  • But, along with that, we'll need to make a big "master list" of episodes, also like NT Warrior does it. It'll just be a list of episode titles and air dates, with a link to the summary articles. I volunteer to do all of these episodes pages. I just gotta figure out how to get the tables to work properly (since we'll need to do something fancy with the English episodes combining two Japanese ones).
  • There's nothing that will really need done to the Character page other than, well... Realize that, one day, it's going to get massive, especially if Star Force gets a cast anything like Battle Network did. The article may need slimmed down or divided by games. I like the latter idea better since the article is very informative, but yet not to the point of unnecessarily so, and it'd be a shame to lose a lot of that info...
  • As for the main article itself, well... This is a toughie. I think the History section should remain because it's very nice indeed, and it can just keep growing with more and more information about all of the series (Japanese, English, and the manga) as things develop... But, after that, I'm a bit lost. The Plot section can obviously be divided... First, we could do a general plot synopsis sort of thing, (Subaru's dad died, he meets an alien, becomes Rockman, fights evil)... And then divide things up by series to overview the individual plots for those. That's simple enough. But the Production section is what's throwing me. It discusses things that are or may end up being unique to the first 55-episode run, such as "Heart Wave" and the art directors... I think it's going overboard to divide the Production section into series as well, but it doesn't seem fluid enough to combine the information in there with the Plot information... So, any ideas are very welcome here.
  • Also, like the NT Warrior article, I think we need a nice little Merchandise section on this page too. There's a lot of merchandise spawned from the anime already, and inevitably, there will be tons more in the future. (And one day, we may get some DVDs too...) For now, I think having a little section on the main article will suffice, and once we start getting gargantuan lists of DVDs and trading card games and Halloween costumes and crap, we can split it off into a "Media" article, also like NT Warrior...

So, those are my idears. Gimme some input, please, and I'll start going full-steam ahead with all the revisions (all thanks to lovely Tribe). -Crimsonseiko 14:28, 3 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

UPDATE - I've crossed out the things I did. It's still too early to give Tribe it's own article for episode summaries as the only things we know about it so far are (1) the first episode title, (2) when it will air, (3) it will focus on the second game, and (4) Subaru's seiyuu says the storyline is cooler and deeper... Regardless, I'm leaving the links to the article because, well, it will need to exist in the near future, so it'll make it easier to just go ahead and leave them.

On a different note, someone check my translation of Tribe's first episode title. I'm 99% sure of it, but I have no idea what "muu" is supposed to mean, so I just left it as that, assuming it might be some weird term used in the new story (kinda like Beyondard and Zoanoroids and all that jazz from Beast). If it means something else, or if I got the rest of the translation wrong, fix it... Thanks! I'll do more stuff with the article in the near future. For now, I think it's good. -Crimsonseiko 21:38, 3 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

If you look at it, it's really the lost continent Mu. Mu is believed to be linked to Easter Island, being possibly underneath it. This explains the Maoi heads seen in an earlier report for Ryuusei 2. --Reploidof20xx (TALK) 08:05, 5 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Link[edit]

I hope you don't mind that I added a link to Anime News Network's entry on Mega Man Star Force. -- Mkalv —Preceding unsigned comment added by 207.237.46.58 (talk) 21:26, 17 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • It didn't really contribute to the article, so I removed it. -Crimsonseiko (talk) 01:56, 9 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
