Mickey's Grandmother[edit]

Article says "Mickey's mother remained a sufficient part of Mickey's life that when Rose believed Mickey to be dead, she said, "I'll have to tell his mother."" This could be taken either way as in "I'll have to tell his mother he's dead as she never sees him at all and won't notice that he has even gone missing." This is an opinion not a fact. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Murphoid (talkcontribs) 22:51, 5 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

As there are no objections I am removing this part of the offending sentence. --Murphoid 04:20, 8 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Mickey's grandmother was wearing EarPods so isn't it possible (if not probable) that she was either 'upgraded' or incinerated due to her blindness? Therefore, she would probably be dead so there wouldn't have been as much reason for his decision to stay (apart from to liberate Paris in a van) --Jawr256 15:56, 22 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

True, but some time passed before the last scene (enough for him to go back to the Tyler's to get the Doctor's clothes). He could have checked on her, discovered she was alive, and then decided to stay. --Brian Olsen 22:08, 23 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Everyone that made it to Battersea for conversion did so under their own power; Gran looked like a slow mover, she may not have made it by the time the signal was stopped. Radagast 23:40, 23 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Was? or is?[edit]

How come Rose Tyler's article says she is a character and Mickey's says he was :S.—Preceding unsigned comment added by Mikeipedia (talkcontribs) 03:01, 10 September 2007

It's to make it clear that this article deals with a fictional character, not a real person. Ah, scratch that, I've seen what you did at Rose Tyler. The point is that a character in a work of fiction is still a character in that work even if it doesn't feature in the most recent parts/chapters/episodes. Mickey hasn't stopped being a character in Doctor Who; in order to achieve that, we'd have to edit a bunch of episodes from the first two series to remove his appearances. It's just that he's a character not in the most recently produced episodes. --Mark H Wilkinson (t, c) 07:31, 10 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

First non-white companion[edit]

The article says that "Mickey is the first non-white human companion of the Doctor ever seen on screen". This is not true. Mickey is the first black on-screen companion, but Chang Lee from the 1996 TV movie was the first non-white companion seen on screen. ----Zestos 14:51, 12 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Chang Lee wasn't a companion. He was the Master's henchman. He did end up on good terms with the Doctor at the end, as do many Doctor Who characters who aren't companions. The page for the TV movie lists only Grace as the companion, which is accurate. On the other hand, "on screen" is such a vague term that Alison Cheney from Scream of the Shalka may count as the first black on-screen companion. --67.105.209.72 (talk) 09:46, 30 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Mickey's returning[edit]

Various photos and set reports have been posted online by insiders that proove that Mickey and Jackie are returning, are these wikipedia allowed sources? If so I'll update the article. Thanks Mikeipedia (talk) 18:01, 14 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Jackie's confirmed, brief shot in the latest trailer. Digifiend (talk) 12:28, 27 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
