harold and Kumar

Someone should add how it was constantly used by those self-styled 'Extreme' sportsmen in Harold and Kumar. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 159.142.159.180 (talk) 17:46, 14 February 2014 (UTC)

Cleanup of Article

Could somebody please help me to shrink the 1973 Mountain Dew logo down to size so that it doesn't take up a large part of the section? I tried editing it to get it down to the normal size of the other photos on the page, but my edits just made it worse! Someone help me, please! --24.147.1.197 (talk) 11:59, 18 February 2014 (UTC)Jacob Chesley
Who ever answered my request about the cleanup, thank you very much! --24.147.1.197 (talk) 14:58, 18 February 2014 (UTC)Jacob Chesley

Mountian Dew's Older Logos/Edit Request 2/10/14

Images of the older logos of Mountain Dew should be added to Wikipedia in their own section on the page of Mountain Dew. These logos can be found on Logopedia and I'll tell about the logos below. --24.147.1.197 (talk) 21:33, 10 February 2014 (UTC)Jacob Chesley
I really hope that someone answers my request soon!
  • 1st Logo:The first logo was used from when Mountain Dew started until 1973. This logo featured the famous hillbilly and it is now used on Mountain Dew Throwback.
  • 2nd Logo:Mountain Dew's famous second logo was used from 1973 to either 1996 or 1997. This logo is on Wikipedia or Wikimedia Commons, but it was removed for unknown reasons. This logo is now used on glass bottles of Mountain Dew and was used on Mountain Dew Throwback in 2009.
  • 3rd Logo:This logo was used from 1996 or 1997 until 1999 and was a more straightened-up version of the 1973 logo. This logo had a green backround and the N, T ,and A's in the logo were connected to each other.
  • 4th Logo:In 1999, Mountain Dew got a new logo. This logo was slanted and looked less cartoonish then the three previous logos. This logo was used until around 2005 but can still be seen on some older Pepsi vending machines.
  • 5th Logo:In 2005, Mountain Dew got their famous thrilling logo. This logo was used until Summer 2009 but still be seen on the can boxes of the other flavors of the soda aswell as older Pepsi machines.
  • 6th Logo:Already on the page.
  • Prototype logo:This logo was never used on any cans or bottles of Moutain Dew. However, it was suppost to be the current logo that rolled out in late 2008/early 2009, but was changed shortly before Pepsi redid the core sodas of their brand. This logo was very bland and boring. It also had the colors of red and white in the letters. --24.147.1.197 (talk) 21:27, 10 February 2014 (UTC)Jacob Chesley
I've got the 1973-1996 logo done on the main page now. However, it's too big and needs to be shrunken down to appropriate size. Somebody help me with that because I don't know how!--24.147.1.197 (talk) 00:14, 15 February 2014 (UTC)Jacob Chesley
Now I've got the 1999 to 2005 logo on the page. It was hiding somewhere on Wikipedia but I found it. However, me putting the logo on the page messed up the logo section a little bit. So, could somebody help me out with that? --24.147.1.197 (talk) 16:59, 2 March 2014 (UTC)Jacob Chesley

I'm from Poland and I can't confirm that Adrenaline Mountain Dew in Poland is "available [...] 500ml black-tinted bottles". These bottles are 850ml. English Wikipedia should be aware of this Mk1981 (talk) 22:47, 22 September 2013 (UTC)

Hatnote

The existing hatnote states that Mountain Dew is "Not to be confused with Mount Dewe or Mountain Jews." This has been twice altered to instead say "Not to be confused with Mount Dewe or Mountain Dew." (effectively stating it should not be confused with itself).

In the context of a hatnote, Mountain Jews is the more appropriate over saying not to be confused with itself ... the question is, how likely is confusion? I doubt it's significant, so would support simplifying the hatnote to only state "Not to be confused with Mount Dewe" ... although even that one is arguably unnecessary as well. --- Barek (talkcontribs) - 17:17, 3 April 2014 (UTC)

Oh crap my bad! *Head-desk* I though some one was having a laugh putting Moutain jew--Lerdthenerd wiki defender 17:20, 3 April 2014 (UTC)
Note: the hatnote reference to Mountain Jews appears to have initially been added Feb 6th 2014 in this edit by 121.209.84.30 (talk · contribs · WHOIS). This was quickly reverted by Gilliam (talk · contribs) who then self-reverted to restore the mention.
I doubt there's malicious intent in the addition of the link to the hatnote; but from what I can see the addition hasn't been discussed thus far for appropriateness. Normally, a hatnote is used to provide a simple reference where two names are likely to be confused, landing a reader at one article when they actually wanted the other.
But, I have serious doubts on if that mix-up is likely here. The two names rhyme and share the same first word; but they are different enough that I have a hard time believing that anyone would arrive at this one while intending to arrive at the other. On the other-hand, the mountain name has only one letter difference and the name of this article could easily be reached when intending to find the article about the mountain.
I think simplifying this to state "Not to be confused with Mount Dewe" would be a reasonable solution here. --- Barek (talkcontribs) - 17:36, 3 April 2014 (UTC)
If no one has any objections, I'll trim the hatnote later this week as described above to only link to Mount Dewe. --- Barek (talkcontribs) - 21:01, 14 April 2014 (UTC)
As there had been no further feedback, I have gone ahead and trimmed the {{distinguish}} tag per the comments above. --- Barek (talkcontribs) - 17:58, 17 April 2014 (UTC)

Diet Baja Blast availability

In the "Mountain Dew Soda Flavors" table, the reference to wider availability of Diet Baja Blast does not actually mention wider availability. Perhaps this is not true? At least in Los Angeles, Taco Bell seems to no longer carry Diet Baja Blast, and I haven't seen it anywhere else. I don't know if this is true elsewhere. Ahenobarbus (talk) 17:46, 26 November 2014 (UTC)ahenobarbus

The same thing happened in my area. Here at least, appears to have been discontinued alongside the bottled regular Baja Blast. I spoke today with the district manager and he said that it's been discontinued. --Miss Paris Slue (talk) 23:16, 13 December 2014 (UTC)

Condensing of infobox

Hi all, in this edit I removed the ridiculously long list of flavor variants from the infobox and referred users to the article's prose instead. The infobox is not intended to be used in this manner. The infobox is supposed to be a general summary, not reproduce giant lists of content. For scope, in film and television articles if the ensemble cast is too long, we do the same thing: we add a link to "See Cast below", to refer users to the long cast section. I will point out that a disruptive editor, StormExpert was largely responsible for the introduction of this absurd content. This content was restored by a suspected sockpuppet of the disruptive editor, which is all the more reason to monitor that this content isn't re-submitted. Thanks. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 19:11, 11 September 2015 (UTC)

They seem to be alternative accounts of User:HarryPotterFan4747. In my opinion the decision to call yourself HarryPotterFan4747 should be enough for an indefinite ban, sockpuppets notwithstanding. -Ashley Pomeroy (talk) 13:16, 20 December 2015 (UTC)

Mountain Dew Kickstart now available in Australia

Numerous people have claimed to have found several different flavours of Mountain Dew Kickstart, and as of today the official Mountain Dew Australia Facebook page has begun promoting the product. The flavours now available are Orange Citrus, Limeade and Midnight Grape. https://www.facebook.com/mountaindewau/ I added information about the new availability of these flavours to the page, as well as dates for the flavours active times. I also changed Mountain Dew Kickstart Limeade's status off discontinued, as it is now available in Australian stores. Mrliamhen (talk) 02:58, 12 April 2017 (UTC)

Mountain Dew original use?

Currently the article claims mountain dew was originally used as a mixer for whiskey, but I'm finding mixed results on it. Smithsonian magazine and some other sources seem to say it was originally a chaser, rather than a mixer.
