Really?[edit]

"Hot Pursuit has been described as a "revolutionary"" Anyone have a good reason for keeping the marketing speak? 198.6.33.13 (talk) 19:43, 29 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

A good reason? I don't know why we would need a good reason. It's a statement like any other statement. -- Lyverbe (talk) 22:37, 29 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Saying "Hot Pursuit is revolutionary" would be marketing speak, saying "has been described as revolutionary" is only stating the fact that has been described as such. --MrStalker (talk) 22:59, 29 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

wtf??[edit]

this sentence makes no sense: The Lamborghini Reventón will be the only type of Lamborghini available as a cop car, and exclusive for the Cops. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.111.17.196 (talk) 21:53, 26 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Edit: "The Lamborghini Reventón will be the only type of Lamborghini available as a cop car, and exclusive for the Cops." That statement is incorrect, as new information on the website has given that other versions of Lamborghinis have been released for the cops, as well as data that the Reventón is now for Racers as well. {{edit semi-protected}} Change Marketing details with new release of information (cars, videos, etc) as well as "The Lamborghini Reventón will be the only type of Lamborghini available as a cop car, and exclusive for the Cops" statement, because the website says it is now available for Racers, and including that there are other versions of the Lamborghini available for the Cops. Reventón statement Done - X201 (talk) 08:00, 7 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

It shown new feature, that it's not shown before.[edit]

that sentence makes no sense. can we please open this page up for editing, it's full of errors. Displacedmic (talk) 18:49, 5 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Length and style[edit]

The Develepment section seems overly long, and what's even worse it reads like it's been written by a German. 92.76.137.170 (talk) 09:03, 15 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Problems with the PC Release[edit]

Somewhere should be noted the multiple problems faced by the PC Gamer community playing NFS HP. Quad Core cpu related crashes, graphical glitches (even with latest drivers / new hardware). Lack of in depth graphical options and of course the complete, total lack of in-game communication. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.226.229.252 (talk) 19:12, 19 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

3D output[edit]

Including the Twitter source as a reference for the game supporting 3D isn't really good enough. Especially when the games doesn't actually support 3D yet (at least on PS3). From what I've read on the interent, it's rumoured that a patch will make the game 3D-capable, but it certainly isn't yet (a quick look through the display options in the game confirms this).

I think this sentence should be removed, as it is based on a sketchy source and isn't correct (as I said, at least for PS3, not sure about Windows). It could be replaced by something indicating that 3D display output will be supported in the future, but even then, there really is no good source for this information.

Anyone else agree?

Nsmith 84 (talk) 12:01, 22 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Unless other reliable sources can be found. Nuke it. - X201 (talk) 12:15, 22 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, I've been bold and pulled it, until 3D support arrives (or until we have a better source than Twitter to confirm when it's going to). Nsmith 84 (talk) 12:31, 22 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I'm sorry I can't use wikipedia to properly customize this, but to be sure: Need for Speed Hot Pursuit does NOT support 3D on PlayStation 3. Thank you. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Giornalista (talkcontribs) 18:54, 22 November 2010

Cover Art[edit]

I think the art work should be changed why? Because if you go into a shop the cover is slightly different than the one shown now. A Small Toast (talk)A Small Toast —Preceding undated comment added 17:52, 25 November 2010 (UTC).[reply]

DLC Content[edit]

Where should information about the DLC packs go in the article? Also, has there been any official word on whether or not the PC version will get the DLC packs? Frohike14 (talk) 06:52, 5 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Duplicate Title[edit]

I've checked all of the relevant articles yet cannot find any information on why it has the same title as the 1998 game, as opposed to say, Hot Pursuit 3 or something. Does anyone know anything about this? Synetech (talk) 03:38, 21 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The 1998 version was offcialy title "Need For Speed 3 Hot Pursuit" as it was the 3rd Need For Speed game in the series. The first game in the series was titled "The Need For Speed" (1994) then "Need For Speed 2" (1997) then "Need For Speed 3 Hot Pursuit" 1998.

There franchise then changed names to "Need For Speed High Stakes" (1999) "Need For Speed Porsche Unleashed" (2000).

There wasnt another Need For Speed Hot Pursuit game untill 2002 "Need For Speed Hot Pursuit 2".

The 2010 version of Need For Speed was made by a diffrent games developer (Britians Criterion Games) it was seen a a "Re-boot" of the Need4Speed Hot Pursuit Franchise, all the previous Need For Speed games were made at EA Black Box in Canada. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 188.28.236.162 (talk) 09:58, 9 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Personally, I refer to it as Hot Pursuit 3 because it is the third Hot Pursuit game, so logic dictates that this must be the correct title. The fact that it's not expressed this way on the packaging can presumably be explained by the saving of text space. Another possible explanation is to deliberately insult long-time players of the franchise, though EA should be given the benefit of the doubt on this one. The reason this referring to it as "Hot Pursuit 3" is necessary and correct is to distinguish between this game and the first one titled Hot Pursuit. I automatically assume that anyone who simply says, "Hot Pursuit" is referring to the 1998 title. I think this is a reasonable position to hold, but I understand Wikipedia won't publish it due to the fact it's all logic and no sources. But then, no sources actually exist to explain the missing "3" from the title, as far as I can find. But, at least you have the answer you were looking for. 76.29.225.81 (talk) 02:51, 7 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

RenderWare[edit]

While the article and reference say that it's running on the "Chameleon" engine, the instruction manuel credits RenderWare for copyright. Anyone else found this? TehMissingLink Talk 20:12, 18 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Wii Version - Please[edit]

I would very much like to create a new page for the Wii version as it is an entirely different game. There is too much information to include in just one paragraph, and nothing else in this entry's text applies to the Wii version at all. Could I have permission to do this? === CucFan 23 April 2015
