Percentage?[edit]

Bowls[edit]

If the "Mirage Bowl" is not an actual bowl game -- it was a regular season game relocated to Japan and called the Mirage Bowl for marketing purposes -- why include it in the Bowl Games column at all, even with a footnote? What I'd like to do is to move most of the information on this page onto the season pages. If someone wants to do more of a summary of the periods of time, I would welcome that, because the page is very windy. In that case, I think a History of the Oregon State Beavers football page might be a good idea. As an aside, please tell whomever puts together the media guide that the 1962 Idaho and Washington State games remain in the wrong order. Also, can you find a box score or other write-up for the 1962 Colorado State game? Please feel free to add photographs wherever you feel they would be appropriate. The only thing that I have on the 1962 Colorado State game is the basic score, which is also wrong in the Media Guide. It was 25-14. I'll try to track down the editor of the guides and let them know about these mistakes. If you would let me know when individual season or era pages go up, that would be great. Until then, I'm going to hold off on adding the images. I'm working on getting some higher resolution images put into Flickr and the Wikimedia Commons, so hopefully we can use those. Page length[edit]

What are we going to do about the length of this page, specifically the history section? As is, it is way too long. Would it be better to just rewrite that section?--Henry talk 03:32, 14 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I would suggest the option mentioned above under "split" and create History of Oregon State Beavers football to move the content to. Then reduce what is left to a paragraph on the first team/game, when/what conferences were joined, championships/conference titles/top 25 finishes, obviously Terry Baker, stadium timeline, the long losing season streak, coach timeline (keep it to "Bob Johnson took over the program in 1934 and went 32-16-2 in four seasons as head coach with a conference title in 1936"), years there were not teams and why (wars for instance), and maybe a few key Civil War game mentions such as the 0-0 tie and the years they didn't play due to prior rioting. Then have all that info generally in chronological order. For citations, I know I used the OSU media guide a few years back for updates on the Civil War (college football game), it is listed in the EL section. Heisman[edit]

Would it be appropriate to add a "Heisman" section above the "All-Americans" section? Even though OSU only has one Heisman winner, it is the top honor given to any individual athlete, so it seems to me like it should be there.Ibleedorange14 (talk) 05:34, 18 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Conference Placings[edit]

I added some conference history, but apart from the conference championships in 1907 and 1914, I don't know any other conference standings from 1902-1914. I changed the pre-1902 to "Ind." to match the years between the PCC and P-8/10/12, but the "n/a"s left are for years that I can't find a source for without looking up each school's head-to-head results (which we do have-- see the "Orange and Black" source on bottom of the page) ibleedorange14 01:23, 11 May 2012 (UTC)

Orphaned references in Oregon State Beavers football[edit]

I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Oregon State Beavers football's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.
