Fair use rationale for Image:BPMA-logo-300.gif[edit]

Image:BPMA-logo-300.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

I am the Digital Media Officer for The Postal Museum and would like to request the following edits to ensure that the material on our page is as accurate and up-to-date as possible, given our recent organisational changes.

1. Please change the following sentence as it suggests that The Postal Museum is currently open, excludes our location, and omits our project to open Mail Rail as a tourist attraction: "The Postal Museum (formerly The British Postal Museum & Archive) is a postal museum run by the Postal Heritage Trust." The correct information would be:

"The Postal Museum (formerly The British Postal Museum & Archive) is a postal museum and tourist attraction due to open in 2017 in Clerkenwell, London. It is run by the Postal Heritage Trust."

2. Please change the 'Sites' subsection as it contains outdated information: "The BPMA operates three sites: The Royal Mail Archive at Mount Pleasant sorting office in Clerkenwell, London, a museum store in Loughton, Essex and The Museum of the Post Office in the Community, located about the post office in Blists Hill Victorian Town, Shropshire." The correct information would be:

"The Postal Museum currently operates three sites: The Royal Mail Archive at Mount Pleasant sorting office in Clerkenwell, London, a museum store in Loughton, Essex and The Museum of the Post Office in the Community, located about the post office in Blists Hill Victorian Town, Shropshire.

On completion in 2017, The Postal Museum will also operate a new museum at Phoenix Place in Clerkenwell, London containing a permanent exhibition, a temporary exhibition space, a learning area, a family play zone, a shop and a café. It will feature an extension to house The Royal Mail Archive and a new research facility, replacing the current site at Mount Pleasant.

Also from 2017 it will operate a new tourist attraction at Phoenix Place allowing visitors to The Postal Museum to ride through a section of the London Post Office Railway (also known as Mail Rail) tunnels. This will include an exhibition about their history."

3. Please change the following sentence as it contains outdated information: "Since 2004, the BPMA has expanded its work into providing a programme of events, exhibitions, education and web resources." The correct information would be:

In February 2016, the Postal Heritage Trust changed its branding from 'The British Postal Museum and Archive' to 'The Postal Museum' in preparation for opening its new facilities in 2017."

So I've made some changes, some of which are similar & different to your suggestions:
  1. Please provide reliable sources that it isn't currently open- sources only say a new location will open in 2017, nothing about other locations.
  2. Removed list of sites, as it's confusing and covered elsewhere
  3. Added branding change
  4. Done

As the Digital Media Officer for The Postal Museum I recently requested some edits to ensure the page about us was accurate. I have spotted a few inaccuracies still - please could someone correct these?

1. In the 'Sites' subsection please change the reference to "The BPMA" to "The Postal Museum" since the organisation's name has changed from the former to the latter.

2. Please change the title of the 'Origins of the BPMA' subsection to 'Origins of The Postal Museum' because the organisation has changed name.

3. In the 'Origins of the BPMA' subsection please change the following sentence because the organisation has changed name (so the use of the present tense is inaccurate): "Since 2004, the BPMA has expanded its work into providing a programme of events, exhibitions, education and web resources." The correct information would be:

"From 2004, the BPMA expanded its work into providing a programme of events, exhibitions, education and web resources."

4. In the 'New Postal Museum' subsection please change the following sentence because it contains errors in spelling and grammar and a factual inaccuracy (Mail Rail was the world’s first driverless electric railway; it is not correct to say it "will be"): "The Portal museum is expected to open up London's Mail Rail to the public with a 1 kilometre (0.62 mi) stretch of track being opened to the public, which will be the world’s first driverless electric railway". The correct information would be:

"The Postal Museum is expected to open up to the public a 1 kilometre (0.62 mi) stretch of track in London's Mail Rail, which was the world’s first driverless electric railway."

4. In the 'Relationship with Royal Mail' subsection please change the two references to 'the Postal Museum' to 'The Postal Museum' since 'The' is part of the organisation's name thus ought to be capitalised.

This claim is about the site's history. Mail Rail was the world's first driverless electric railway when it began service on 5 December 1927.
