Minna de Puyo Puyo[edit]

IIRC, it deserves a separate article...Ranma9617 02:49, 27 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I agree. Especially because it's one of the few Puyo Puyo games released in English. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.71.35.179 (talk) 03:57, 10 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I made an article for Minna earlier today. ~ Keiji (iNVERTED) (Talk) 19:20, 1 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Power Rensa[edit]

The "Power Rensa" chapter is a mess, and doesn't even explain what a "power rensa" is. It should, in my opinion, be rewritten. Unfortunately I cannot do it, since I don't know the meaning of a power rensa myself. 130.232.131.47 10:41, 28 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Puyo Pop[edit]

"Puyo Pop, known in Japan as Puyo Puyo (ぷよぷよ) is a computer puzzle game made in 1991 by Compile."

Nope, Puyo Pop is known in Japan as Minna de Puyo Puyo (みんなでぷよぷよ) and is a GBA game made by SEGA in the 21st century. Puyo Puyo is called "Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine" (Mega Drive version) or Kirby's Ghost Trap/Kirby's Avalanche (SNES version) outside Japan. (58.188.97.134 07:36, 3 January 2007 (UTC))[reply]

Satan[edit]

"Satansama: The comical villain and the final boss in the series; oddly enough, he loves Carbuncle and Arle, but is only interested more in Carbuncle later on in the games series."

Where is this character called "Satansama"? At least in the original Puyo Puyo for Mega Drive, Puyo Puyo Tsū for Game Gear and Madō Monogatari for Sega Saturn, she is called just "Satan" (サタン).

Madō Monogatari[edit]

"Since its creation using characters from Madoh Monogatari (魔導物語, Madō Monogatari?), a game made several years after the characters were first used in the Puyo Puyo series, the game has become an international success, with many of its biggest fans residing in Japan and Korea."

Keep in mind that Madō Monogatari was produced several years after Puyo Puyo. The Puyo Puyo characters were reused in Madō Monogatari, not the other way around! (58.188.97.134 07:45, 3 January 2007 (UTC))[reply]

Quotes[edit]

This section seems pretty unencyclopedic, particularily the "more quotes coming soon" part. 199.126.137.209 13:36, 30 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Anniversary[edit]

The article says that PP15th was coming out on the Wii..Not sure if it still is, I'd assume so, but it got released for the PSP in Japan recently. GameFAQs also has it listed for the DS, so I'm assuming they came out at the same time. 61.68.17.111 07:17, 11 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

About the Puyo Puyo Museum[edit]

Other[edit]

Should Puyo Puyo Merchindise belong in a Puyo Puyo area? a Japanese plush toy company recently produced several color variations of the puyos Or should it be limited to just the game in general? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.128.201.250 (talk) 18:40, 22 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Reference in Neon Genesis Evangelion[edit]

In 23. episode of Neon Genesis Evangelion you can see Asuka playing with a gaming console that looks like Sega Genesis, and on the floor there is a box of game named "Poyo poyo" that is an obvious reference to Puyo-puyo.

Puyo Puyo name[edit]

Does anyone know of the origins of the name? I haven't been able to find it mentioned online anywhere, in Japanese "Mame" is bean, even Jim Breen's site at Monash University doesn't seem to match the "pu" of the name with any word in Japanese even closely, my suggestion is he used "Puddle", and "World", or other things that in Japanese are pronounced "yo". (Floppydog66 (talk) 21:11, 29 November 2008 (UTC))[reply]

puyo is Japanese for blob or squishy. ~ Keiji (iNVERTED) (Talk) 19:22, 1 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

There are three reasons why I propose a split:

  • This page is currently mixing information that's relevant to the whole series with what's only relevant to the game itself.
  • Many articles on other Puyo games duplicate gameplay information described here which should be moved to the series article.
  • An overall history of the series itself may be a useful thing to have.

Agreed. --Nmn (talk) 05:13, 12 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Characters[edit]

The number of characters in the Puyo Puyo and Puyo Puyo Fever 2 articles take up a good deal of those pages. I believe a character page should be made. Thank you. 99.19.92.173 (talk) 01:49, 21 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Freeware - Yura87 (talk) 20:11, 5 May 2013 (UTC)[edit]

Wikipedia already links Apocalypse Inc's Tempest remake. Apocalypse Inc. also made a Pac-Attack clone (using boulders instead of blocks) and a mBM/Puyo Puyo clone (MBM2k). Though they contain some legally grey content, it is solely due to their amateur nature. They might produce a legally cleaner version if requested. (particularly Legally grey is the background/sounds, game piece design is unique as far as I know As for a sample of Puzzle League, the other big puzzle series on Nintendo systems, Sorcery Stones (Wizard101) could be viewed as one (and can be played without being logged in first).
