Stan's WW2 service[edit]

I believe Stan was in the US Navy V5 flight program in the Fall of 1944. I served with him at The University of North Carolina Re Flight School in the fall of 1944. Stan was a fullback on the North Carolina Pre-Flight football team. The players included Otto Grahamn at quarter back and the coaches included Paul"Bear" Bryant. Stan was somewhat of an eccentic character and a very talented football player. Charley "Choo Choo" Justice played for The Universiy of North Carolina at the same time so you can imagine the good football we enjoyed that year.
