Irrelevant achievements?[edit]

Some of the achievements listed here are little more than organizing meetings or speaking with someone. There's really no evidence the events or meetings themselves are notable. Here are two examples:

"Lonegan organized an international economic summit conference in Jackson Hole, Wyoming in August 2015. The Jackson Hole Summit advocated for hard money monetary policies and an end to government involvement in the money supply."

"On February 27, 2015, Lonegan led a team of economists and conservative think tank leaders into a meeting with Federal Reserve Chair Janet Yellen and Federal Reserve officials at the Washington, D.C., headquarters of the Federal Reserve System." — Preceding unsigned comment added by 158.222.247.184 (talk) 14:49, 13 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I agree this article needs some work. There is too much detail overly seemingly non-noteworthy events. I started a bit of clean up and am happy to collaborate on continuing to improve the article. Safehaven86 (talk) 15:54, 13 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Article written largely by political consultant?[edit]

I've noticed something about this article in its page history. The article has had significant edits by User:Shaftan whose contributions are largely limited to this article. Now Steve Lonegan was a Republican mayor of Bogata who will be running in the Republican primary to be the nominee who challenges Corzine in the 2009 gubernatorial elections. [1] His political consultant is a pollster/strategist known as Rick Shaftan.[2] So as you can see there is possibly a case of WP:COI on this article.--Jersey Devil (talk) 11:19, 27 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I agree with the concerns raised by Jersey Devil, particularly based on a review of the article. Statements such as "Besides his tightfisted record on finances..." and "With time of the essence, Lonegan enlisted radio talk show hosts to lead a grass-roots effort that gathered over 10,000 petitions..." appear to be rather unencyclopedic and hagiographic in their tone, in addition to sourcing issues with these and other, similar statements. There is a decent amount of material here, but there needs to be a few pairs of eyes reviewing, rewording, trimming and sourcing the content of the article. I offer my services. Agree with User jersey Devil this article is flawed. Some of my edits about his controversies toward immigration in Bogota and an interview he offered to W Radio have been deleted. --Camilo Sanchez (talk) 21:45, 18 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I reworded the recent stuff and added refs, updated the AFP info (there's a new state director), updated the arrest and 2005 gubernatorial election sections. Tough to find references about his term as Bogota Mayor...Njsamizdat (talk) 14:12, 30 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Racism notable?[edit]

Don't see how it's all that unexpected from a GOP candidate. Hcobb (talk) 18:15, 9 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Author?[edit]

Lonegan is legitimately a businessman, politician and activist. But I don't think his self-published book makes him notable as an author. I'd like to remove that. Njsamizdat (talk) 17:45, 19 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
