Story[edit]

I added the basic story...feel free to add and take from it as you wikipedians see fit. I tried not to add in too many details, but it does contain major spoilers. [[User:SonicNiGHT|SonicNiGHT]] (talk) 15:58, 3 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Redirection[edit]

As it is right now, the Turok (video game) page redirects to Turok: Dinosaur Hunter. In the past, this was all well and good because it was the first Turok game, the same way that Halo (video game) redirects to Halo: Combat Evolved. Except now, this new game is coming out, and its title is just "Turok", making it a better fit for Turok (video game). Anyone else think we should re-redirect that page to point in this direction? Master Deusoma (talk) 06:55, 4 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Seems to me no one else cares one way or the other, and since it seems a sound enough idea, I've gone ahead and done it. If you disagree very strongly, feel free to drop me a message. Master Deusoma (talk) 02:06, 2 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Confirmed creatures[edit]

The confirmed dinosaurs need reliable sources to go with them. Merely saying they're confirmed is not enough. Also images aren't good sources because even though they may be proof to some, but to people who don't know the game or what a specific dinosaur looks like, they could be images of any creature from any game. ●Bill (talk|contribs) 03:11, 15 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Maedis here, if you go to www.turok.com you can see a list of all the creatures they have. I have edited to dinosaur list ,as one dinosaur I found did not actually exist in the game. It is not on the turok site, and I have already beaten the game on both normal, and inhuman levels and I can confirm that the Carnosaurous does not appear in the game. I have edited the dinosaur list with the creatures I know are in the game, added a section for the Soldier Bugs and Flying dragonflys, and a section for known bosses (bosses i could name off the top of my head)

I also cleaned up the plot a bit, but that was before I signed on into my account.—Preceding unsigned comment added by Maedis (talkcontribs)

I found the section on the creatures on that site and that'll be a very good source. Unfortunately the website's entirely in flash so it's tricky to create a source that links directly to it. I'll add the link into the top of the section for now. ●Bill (talk|contribs) 02:29, 6 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Can the Giganotosaurus really can't be killed. Also is there a dinosaur that gets killed by a Dilphosaurus in the game that resembles a raptor? Johnny542 (talk) 18:03, 15 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

"Development" section[edit]

For anyone interested in creating a "Development" section, you can use these "Awakening The Giants: The Making of Turok" videos as a source, which I found on The Electric Playground homepage. I haven't watched the videos as I don't have sound on this computer. --Silver Edge (talk) 09:48, 29 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Ron Perlman as Slade[edit]

Anyone find it odd that Ron Perlman voices a character name Slade in this game and also voices the character Slade (Deathstroke) in Teen Titans? Anyone know if his character was given the name Slade intentionally in Turok or is it just happenstance that they are both the same. 76.116.109.221 (talk) 12:53, 30 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Coincidence. (JoeLoeb (talk) 00:37, 27 June 2009 (UTC))[reply]

Touchstone Pictures?[edit]

What is with the lie in the infobox? I don't touch your precious wiki articles on account of all the lies. So, could someone please remove the Pictures part in that infobox. It is a hilarious lie.

Whomever did that clearly didn't even notice the oddly colored logo for Disney's intended videogame branding.EMU-LMAO (talk) 22:56, 10 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Not sure what the problem is.--Koji 03:02, 11 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

That says "TouchStone" not "TouchStone Pictures", don't you know anything about product branding? Totally different logos.

A "TouchStone" logo is not the same as literally putting a "TouchStone Pictures" logo on a box. "TouchStone Pictures" is a brand intended for the mature Disney films. "TouchStone" is a brand used by Disney for mature videogames.

I don't see the problem with not seeing this error.

Obvious Narrative Bias In "reception"[edit]

I wonder what Disney interactive studio tool listening to Gary Cooper entered this section, bullshit, just like the studio and their executives, even a passing review will show the bias in section Reception, as well as falling to list AOTS's ripping of the game, yet making the positive G-4 reviews glisten in the limelight, as well as recapping with a curved narrative after two or three un-cited references to why it sucked. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.174.152.119 (talk) 08:37, 31 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Sequel?[edit]

Any news on a sequel or a remake of Turok 2:SOE? 71.234.96.237 (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 22:01, 25 July 2009 (UTC).[reply]

Pegi rating[edit]

Iv'e got turok as a 16+ under the pegi rating, is this right or not? --84.68.182.61 (talk) 17:57, 15 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Turok has been certified by other companies as well. So you are partially correct. I went to England and the game rating was '16' but meanwhile in Portugal it's rating is '18'. SportingLisboaXI (talk) 20:31, 1 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Turok Movie 2012? + Turok Rights[edit]

Many rumours about a Turok movie for 2011 & 2012 starring Adam Beach? Need mor informaation to create a sub-section, let alone an article. Anyone willing to reasearch into more info?

Also since Propaganda Games has now closed down, who currently has rights to the Turok Brand? Is it the parent company Walt Disney Interactive Studios? Or have they sold the rights to another company? Someone also needs to look into this in further detail. SportingLisboaXI (talk) 17:17, 22 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Turok (2008 Video Game)Turok (video game) — Unnecessary disambiguation. There are no other video game articles named "Turok". --Mika1h (talk) 21:08, 1 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

  • OPPOSE - I edited the name for a reason. There are many Turok video games, although the title of the game is officially Turok, there is no harm changing it to Turok (2008 Video Game). The reason is that the game is called 'Turok' it was made in 2008 and is a video game. Simply it being called Turok misleads other users as it could be the Comic Character Turok or another Turok Video game. With it's name how it is at the moment, ensures no-one can be misleaded. Thanks SportingLisboaXI (talk) 20:46, 2 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose; many of the games at Turok (series) are called just Turok in colloquial usage. I would support a move to the proper capitalization, Turok (2008 video game). Powers T 14:41, 3 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • Move to Turok (2008 video game) (lower case) per WP:MOSCAPS, but otherwise leave as is. 137.205.222.193 (talk) 19:26, 5 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
And also retarget Turok (video game) to Turok (series) per reasons given by LtPowers. 137.205.222.193 (talk) 19:28, 5 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Why is this article in Category:Free, open source shooter games? I can't seen find any reference that it's open source (or even free). --EoD (talk) 13:45, 7 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I removed it from that as well as Category:Free first-person shooters, as it is absolutely neither free nor open source. dririan (talk) 06:21, 14 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
