Cathy Dennis Version[edit]

Can someone please restore the details and single box for the cathy dennis release.

Its standard to contain information on both releases. for example

Why on earth does this obscure version deserve a section of its own unlike the other cover versions? Stub Mandrel (talk) 20:00, 23 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Because its the only that charted. It was a top 20 in UK.--88marcus (talk) 20:33, 23 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Incorrect Link[edit]

The "External Link" says its one to the complete lyrics but they're incomplete. The "millions of people..." verse is missing. It is possible to get the complete lyrics elsewhere. Can someone fix this? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jjc2002 (talkcontribs) 22:06, 24 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Producer[edit]

This article mentions Ray Davies as the producers. Is this really correct? According to http://images.45cat.com/the-kinks-waterloo-sunset-1967-3.jpg this image] Shel Talmy produced this song. In the British charts in this edition of Billboard Magazine Shel Talmy is mentioned as well. Waterloo Sunset is ranked 5th. And when you read Shel Talmy's article on Wikipedia, Waterloo Sunset is listed among the singles that he produced. Are there any sources that state Ray Davies as Waterloo Sunset's producer? Clausule (talk) 22:27, 5 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

yes, it looks like it was changed by a random ip in September 2010. I found this in an interview - it seems Talmy last worked with the Kinks on this very song ; 'Talmy not only lost The Who, but after what was one of the most successful musical relationships of the Sixties, Talmy also lost The Kinks. Together they had recorded ten major hits – including three chart toppers, but Ray Davies was looking to produce the band himself. The split was very amicable (“My contract had run out”) and the relationship was terminated in style – with ‘Waterloo Sunset’. “It was a great song, and it was probably a nice way to have left. There was very little we could have done after that that would have been better.” interview with talmy saying waterloo sunset last work with kinks
Thank you very much for the research and the correction in the article. Clausule (talk) 10:12, 4 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Use in Blackberry (2023)[edit]

I was thinking of putting this songs use at the end of the movie Blackberry (2023) in the "references in other works" section, but I'm not sure if it would fit, given the other uses are diegetic within the works listed. Thoughts? Denisnevsky (talk) 07:42, 26 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
