Rewrite opening section[edit]

I think the opening paragraphs are a bit dense and perhaps have more information about the first season than required. Anyone agree? Macktheknifeau (talk) 07:05, 6 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I've rewritten a bit of it, taking in your suggestions.--2nyte (talk) 03:51, 8 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

I've requested someone at the graphics Lab to put a star on top of the logo, following the official addition of the star to the crest in the Wanderers match against Sydney FC last night. Link to request is here. Macktheknifeau (talk) 14:11, 29 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

The addition has been reverted. The club has a star above their badge (as mentioned in this article) but I don't think they have changed the badge itself. This is common on Wikipedia article; clubs like A.C. Milan, FC Bayern Munich and Guangzhou Evergrande FC wear stars on their jersey (above the badge).--2nyte (talk) 05:32, 2 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
See club's latest tweets: [1], [2].  --Victor•talk 05:54, 2 December 2014 (UTC).[reply]

The club has begun to use the star in their merchandising, and the FFA itself has introduced official regulations in regards to stars, put the star back on? Macktheknifeau (talk) 13:52, 6 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Do you have a reference for the official regulations? Hack (talk) 14:51, 6 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Here are FFA's new regulations, however I don't think we should change the logo just yet. If we're following FFA's new regulations all winning club logos should change. Let's just wait and see how things evolve and how it's implemented. There's no need to rush a new logo. Anyway, I added some info regarding the star to the Colours and badge section of the article a while ago.--2nyte (talk) 03:58, 7 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Wonder if Sydney will put a gold star over their logo for the OFC Club Championship they won. Hack (talk) 06:38, 7 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
The CEO of Sydney FC have said that the FFA aren't allowing a star for the OFC. Which I think is a good decision, considering it was somewhat illegitimate, with one random nation having two teams in it (with the others having one only), and for that nation with two teams, neither of them were the champion of the country. Macktheknifeau (talk) 13:02, 20 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
The star has now been included in the crest on their football shirt, as well as the logo on their official websites, graphics that include the logo, I'm going to change the picture. Macktheknifeau (talk) 04:51, 20 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
A note on the other clubs, their kits looks to have graphics above the crests on their shirts, but none appear to be using those graphics as part of their actual logos. Macktheknifeau (talk) 04:51, 20 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Seems to me that the star is too close to the logo and looks a bit weird. Looking at the shirt it is a little higher up. Simione001 (talk) 05:00, 20 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Draft of new Stadium article[edit]

Hi, I've started a draft of an article for the new stadium. It is located Draft:Western Sydney Stadium. Feel free to take a look. Please let me know if you have any ideas/suggestions, here or on the talk page. I'd ask please don't edit the draft directly as I'm working on it offline prior to adding things to the draft. Thanks. World Club Ranking[edit]

I think this section isn't required. The source isn't reliable and it really isn't an important stat (Not like they are high in the rankings). Wondering what others think? NZFC(talk) 19:41, 9 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I think the AFC Club Ranking is Notable, and I think the World Club Ranking is Not Notable. Matilda Maniac (talk) 22:32, 9 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah I agree the AFC Club ranking is fine and should stay, just that the World Club ranking should go. NZFC(talk) 22:35, 9 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I just edited the section as it hadn't been updated in a couple months and found that the link that was previously being used was down, or deleted all of its contents. I instead am using a list that I saw being used on an article. However, I struggle to agree with the teams that surround WSW in the rankings, so maybe it isn't the best site? The big upside to the site is the updates are rather consistent, so maybe things will change when the 2019 season kicks off. If people feel that the section should just be deleted all together, that would be fine by me since the sources were never necessarily "official" in the first place. czarryno (talk) 15:15, 10 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
