A fact from William H. Lewis appeared on Wikipedia's Main Page in the Did you know column on 4 May 2009 (check views). The text of the entry was as follows:
I saw a house with a big plaque in front of it and snapped a photo of the house but I can't seem to place the connection between the plaque and that house. Did he ever live on Upland Road in Cambridge?
The sign image is clearly of the same person. I don't have specific information on addresses where Lewis resided, but I have no reason to doubt the accuracy of the information. Cbl62 (talk) 20:56, 30 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
So what happened in the last 30 years of Lewis' life? Did he marry & have any children?
I rated this as "mid" importance for 2 WikiProjects, based on the fact he was a "first" in at least 2 categories (first African-American on a College Football team, first African-American to be appointed AAG). Consider this a minimum; if I knew more about how other articles in those areas are rated, I might rate this subject even higher.

I made a few edits, correcting some minor errors, however I was not completely comfortable making wholesale changes as I have written extensively about Lewis and used my peer-reviewed bio of him as a source (Evan J. Albright, "Three Lives of an African American Pioneer," Massachusetts Historical Review).
