H1Z1: King of the KillH1Z1 – Per here, the game dropped the King of the Kill subtitle. ~ Dissident93 (talk) 05:23, 26 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

This is a contested technical request (permalink). Anthony Appleyard (talk) 21:43, 26 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Object to speedy move The nominator eliminated a disambiguation page [1] at H1Z1, which was originally the article location of Just Survive. That game [2] was known as "H1Z1" [3] when it was in early release, when the article was originally written. Therefore a discussion should be opened instead, as multiple games are known as "H1Z1" -- 70.51.45.76 (talk) 08:05, 26 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
    • There is only one game known as H1Z1 now, what else is there to discuss? The subtitle should be dropped here in any case. ~ Dissident93 (talk) 02:12, 27 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment I'd like to know what the multiple eSports teams playing H1Z1 are actually playing, since they have info from seemingly before the two games were renamed, when both carried "H1Z1", and the esports teams info just say "H1Z1" without distinction. -- 70.51.45.76 (talk) 08:14, 26 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
    • They were playing the battle royal mode, which was split into King of the Kill last year and is now simply known as H1Z1. Not sure how you can even have an eSport in Just Survive, which has no real competitive goal. ~ Dissident93 (talk) 02:14, 27 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • @Dissident93 and 70.51.45.76: queried move request Anthony Appleyard (talk) 21:43, 26 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support: But need to add a note on the top of the page that includes a link to Just Survive since they used to share the same name and carried "H1Z1" in their title. AdrianGamer (talk) 11:20, 31 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support official name change, see no reason for the objection. The two games are called 1) H1Z1 and 2) Just Survive. --SubSeven (talk) 20:30, 31 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
    • Comment there's always the option of having the disambiguation page at the primary location, as it was before (see the prior version of that page) The other game, "Just Survivor" is one that was released for public beta as "H1Z1" originally, so both games have been known by that name. Therefore, a move discussion, such as is occurring here now, is warranted to discuss the situation. (whether one game has place of pride, or both games be disambiguated individually) -- 70.51.45.76 (talk) 04:19, 1 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
      • OK. I think most will agree that 'also known as this name (in distant past)' is more of a situation that calls for a WP:HATNOTE. Just Survive will be, by far, the predominant name going forward. --SubSeven (talk) 19:06, 1 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
        • Exactly my point. Not sure why this editor is so against the proposed move. ~ Dissident93 (talk) 23:19, 1 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
          • Did I say I was against the move? I said that a discussion should occur. There's a distinct difference in that. There's been two things called this, and three different topics occupied the requested position (redirect to the first game, disambiguation, new redirect to the second game), so a discussion should occur, and not a speedy move. We're having a discussion. It's pretty simple to do, and shows that we've discussed the implications of changing the topic. -- 70.51.45.76 (talk) 23:45, 1 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose. No evidence has been presented that this topic is primary in common usage in reliable sources. Just Survive was and is called "H1Z1" in sources, and a simple Google search still seems to show plenty of results for the old title. Per WP:NAMECHANGES, it is not sufficient to show that the games have changed their names officially, it must also be shown that the WP:COMMONNAME has changed. In particular, by showing that a majority of recent sources use the new names. Until that is shown, we should retain the no primary topic situation, and I have restored the dab page which was boldly changed to a redirect.  — Amakuru (talk) 10:31, 2 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support. Sources have noted the name change, and started using it in more recent publications.[4][5] Sources referring to H1Z1 on its own, for instance when talking about H1Z1 Pro League,[6] appear to be referring to this game rather than Just Survive. The solution here is just better explaining the games' shared history.--Cúchullain t/c 13:51, 3 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Apologies, as I'm not accustomed to editing on Wikipedia, but there's recently been a rather large-scale edit on the H1Z1 page claiming that the game is coming to XBox One. But it should be noted that no interviews with the developers have stated an XBox version as confirmed, and rather tentative statements that once the PS4 version is released and in a satisfactory state for developers, they will begin looking into developing for other platforms that could include mobile, Nintendo Switch, or XBox One. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.23.207.139 (talk) 00:05, 29 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hand back to daybreak source[edit]

Made an edit yesturday using https://steamcommunity.com/games/433850/announcements/detail/2563019799752692216 as my main source. It is the official announcement made by the game's parent company. In my edit I did make a mistake and confused the fact that NantG's full name is NantG mobile, and I read it as NantG is making a mobile version of H1Z1. However unsure why it was removed as a source, and ultimately replaced with https://www.pcgamer.com/z1-battle-royale-dropped-by-new-developer-returns-to-daybreak-games/ which is based of the orginal announcement. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Gamingmoor (talkcontribs) 19:40, 9 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
