Playing history[edit]

Metheny played college football and basketball[2] for Carnegie Tech from 1910 through the 1912 season. One publication refered to him as a "star" quarterback.[3]

Coaching History[edit]

Geneva has honored his memory by building the Metheney Field House in 1961.[6] He was also given a lifetime alumni award by the school in 1946.[7]
