Dream (Youtuber) Having hard time with source

Dear Bkissin, as you probably know, you decline my draft. I'm doing a page for Dream who is famous for his speedrun world record and his speedrunner vs hunters videos on youtube. I'm have a hard time with the source as I went through about 10 pages in google search and couldn't find any more information other than his Youtube account. Also he has about 9 million Subscribers and about to hit 10 million by the end of this month. If you have any tip for me in the source, please reply as soon as possible. See you soon and have a great week ,Conor Mckinley

You commented that I needed to add more sources to the draft page for Jill Barry. I have since added some. This is my first Wikipedia page, so I'm not totally sure of the process to get something approved. Hopefully I added enough sources. Thanks! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Jill_Barry

Draft: Neisse Tower

Hey Bkissin, I found four reliable sources about the Neisse Tower in Görlitz. Link: Draft:Neisse_Tower_(Görlitz). I looked through the local library stock in Görlitz and those were everything they could offer. Because the Neisse Tower has been demolished almost 200 years ago, it is really difficult to cover such a topic (for me as well as historians). Can you still accept the draft, as I added reliable book sources? Thank you! Happylilgerlzer (talkcontribs) 20:25, 21 June 2021 (UTC)

Draft:List of Atlas LV3A launches

I noticed that you recently declined List of Atlas LV3A launches and reference the dicussion about what lists of launches to accept, where it was said that we would only accept articles about 10 launches. However, it was also said that a notable rocket list would be accept even if it had less than 10 launches, and the same thing if there was no other article to put the data in. Atlas LV3A count as notaable since according to Space Launch Schedule (https://www.spacelaunchschedule.com/1961-1969_launch_schedule/) and Space Launch Now (https://www.spacelaunchnow.me/launch/). Can you accept it? @Bkissin:

Regarding this article, there are no more reliable sources that can be found on the internet since the local news or even the national news don't cover much historical background and achievements of such schools in the localities, only the department itself and the school. Therefore, the contributor only relied upon the primary source which came from the school administration. Also, the division tends to keep its records on their archives, not on the internet. If this still doesn't help, the contributor cannot do anything about it furthermore, thanks!

- If ever the contributors find present articles on the internet about the school, will definitely assist in the development of this page.

How do I change the title of an article and get the permission to add album art?

Hi. You just approved my Undercurrent (Matisyahu Album) article. I would like to change the title to just "Undercurrent (album)," since it's a unique album name on Wikipedia, or at least make the a i "Album" lowercase, to fit the format of all album names.

I also don't know how to upload album art to the article, since I have to be a confirmed user, what's the process for that?

Thank you!

Draft:Sam Brown (veteran)‎ 23:09 +126‎ ‎Bkissin talk contribs‎ (Declining submission: bio - Submission is about a person not yet shown to meet notability guidelines (AFCH 0.9.1))

Hi there, Bkissin! I hope all is well! If possible, can you help educate me on what documentation is needed to show notability for Sam Brown? He has raised over $2 million in 180 days, was on the front page of GQ magazine, is a Senate Candidate in Nevada, has been on 20 major news outlet segments in the last six months. What information should I send you to show that he potentially meets notability guidelines? Thank you so much for your time and support here. I am new at Wikipedia and your expertise means a lot.

Why did you accept this?

I saw Benniganahalli metro station in New Page Patrol. I checked with all the references, and only one of them even mentions the station (and only in one sentence)! Please do better and actually check what you're accepting. This is disappointing. Trainsandotherthings (talk) 03:56, 26 November 2022 (UTC)

Furthermore, this isn't the first time I've asked you about a poor AfC acceptance. I queried you [1] about a previous acceptance, and was ignored. You've been told [2] that as an AfC reviewer, it's not acceptable to just ignore talk page messages, yet you've failed to respond to ANY of the 47 (including this one) threads presently on your talk page. I also noticed you were warned about accepting unattributed translations at AfC last month [3]. I am seriously concerned by your activities at AfC, and ignoring inquiries is not going to help you. Trainsandotherthings (talk) 04:21, 26 November 2022 (UTC)
Hi Trainsandotherthings! Thank you for reaching out once again with constructive feedback on my work bringing down the massive backlog at AfC. Since you mentioned the previous warning by Liz, I will reiterate that I subscribe to the school of "if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all". Hence the reason why I continue to ignore your persistent attempts at harassment. Apologies that 1-2 of the hundred or so drafts that I accept over the course of a month don't meet your standards at NPP. I also apologize that this situation has affected you so greatly that you needed to reach out again rather than just moving on. In the future, I will just avoid reviewing train-related articles so as not to hurt your feelings. Have a awesome day and let's just agree on an interaction ban, huh? Bkissin (talk) 01:23, 27 November 2022 (UTC)
If your response to criticism of your reviewing is to demand an IBAN, you are fully unfit for your AfC permissions. I will be seeking their removal. I'll try to avoid your talk page unless necessary, though. It really didn't have to come to this. Trainsandotherthings (talk) 01:27, 27 November 2022 (UTC)

Mali Obomsawin article

Thank you for your comment on this explaining more in depth! This is my first attempt at making an entry, with your suggestion I'll do better to find other sources, or do you recommend to remove certain pieces of it entirely? I'm unsure as to how in depth it needs to be in order to qualify as "notable" figured it'd be simple because the subject collaborates with others who have wiki articles on them lol Tolepekinape (talk) 01:55, 30 November 2022 (UTC)

Thanks for your patience Tolepekinape. Folks who look at draft articles all day can be a little suspicious and are on guard for anything that may be paid promotion of a person or subject. I don't think that's the case here (at least I hope not). It sounds like you are just trying to include First Nations musicians to the encyclopedia. When we look at drafts for musicians and bands, we are trying to make sure that it isn't just some garage band. That's why we look for the artist to meet some of the guidelines at WP:NMUSIC. That can be difficult for less well-known artists, so there is also the general notability guideline that all articles must face. That last link will give some definitions on what we mean when we talk about significant coverage or sources that are independent of the subject.
As it relates to the article on Mali Obomsawin, I would say the profiles from NPR (though the interview may not be considered independent of the subject) and Grist/Fix are probably the most in-depth sources toward establishing notability. The other references are important (obviously whenever you cite something from another source it is good to reference where you got it from), but when you are trying to prove that someone is notable enough for a WP article (on the same level as Buffy Sainte-Marie), you should have a handful of reliable sources or coverage that meet those above guidelines and be able to explain why.
I know it sounds like a bureaucratic pain, but it helps article reviewers make a judgement call around whether or not to accept a draft and whether that article is at risk of being deleted even if the draft is accepted. For what it's worth, the article on Mali Obomsawin seemed well-written and I went ahead and accepted, since it seems like it will meet the necessary guidelines. Way to go! Draft Todd Barbee

Hello Bkissin,

I am new to being a Wikipedia editor and very much appreciate any help and insight you can give me. My first article is about Todd Barbee, who was a child actor and voice of Charlie Brown and other characters on the Charlie Brown television specials. You left the following comment on the draft page that I wish to get some clarification on.

  • Comment: The sources as they currently exist only prove that Barbee was in the credits, but don't establish notability past that point. Bkissin (talk) 14:53, 29 November 2022 (UTC)

In response to your comment I found an additional external link to an interview on ABC with Todd Barbee and Robin Kohn (Lucy). Is this the kind of source that helps establish notability? If not what would other examples of notability be? A quick Google search of Todd Barbee shows many pages of sites and sources that Todd Barbee was the voice of Charlie Brown on several of the beloved Charlie Brown specials that have been playing on broadcast television for almost 50 years.

Thanks in advance for any guidance on this.

Thanks! Bkissin (talk) 15:44, 5 January 2023 (UTC)

Hello, Bkissin,

I work with drafts a lot and I typically would never ask a reviewer to review a specific draft. But I'm making an exception here. You declined this draft because a main space article on the same subject existed. Well, the main space article was moved to Draft space and turned into a redirect to this draft article. So, the original reason for the decline isn't true any longer. Could you re-review this draft now and offer a verdict now based on its own merits? I didn't want to resubmit it because then I would receive notices about it. My own involvement was simply deleting redirects to the now-moved main space article but I happened upon the original draft version and thought to request that it receive another review.

Thanks for considering my request. I hope 2023 is starting off for you in a positive way! Liz Read! Talk! 21:36, 5 January 2023 (UTC)

Hi Liz! This is a thorny case already because even if an article didn't exist, the draft has shaky notability. When sports/athlete notability was changed earlier this year last year (forgot it's now 2023) they changed to a system that favors GNG and sourcing versus a sport-specific guideline (i.e. playing 1 game in the NBA or playing for a national team). I will look over the sources, but given that this is also appears to be a case of WP:AUTO, I don't know that it will be a amenable verdict. Bkissin (talk) 21:50, 5 January 2023 (UTC)

Talk page notices

Hello, Bkissin,

I saw something that concerned me. I was reviewing User:Dttgraphics2/sandbox and you both reviewed the draft and put a speedy deletion tag on the page. But there was no User talk page for this editor! It seems like both a draft review and tagging the page for speedy deletion should have resulted in this information being relayed to the page creator. Are you using the correct AFC editing tools? Do you use Twinkle to tag pages for deletion? A article creator should receive notification when a draft they create has been declined or when a page has been tagged for deletion. Otherwise, they receive no explanation for why their work was rejected and deleted! Please work to inform content creators when you evaluate their articles or tag a page for deletion. I encourage you to use Twinkle...once you set up your Twinkle Preferences to "Notify page creator", then Twinkle will post a talk page notice any time you tag a page for deletion. I'm sure you've received these notices yourself so please do the same for editors, especially new editors who are not familar with how Wikipedia works. Thank you. Liz Read! Talk! 03:46, 11 January 2023 (UTC)

Submission declined- fixed and resubmitted.

Dear Bkissin,

I have noticed that you declined my submission for the page: Nina Eisenhardt due to lack of reliable references. I translated this page from the original German language. It seems that the pdf link was incorrectly entered in the original page. I fixed that and resubmitted again. I hope it works now. The reference is the official statistic by Government of the state of Hesse in Germany.

Cheers,Eh.ebrahimi (talk) 13:20, 23 January 2023 (UTC)

It isn't that I didn't see the reference, it's just that it's not enough references. We are looking for coverage in reliable secondary sources like newspapers and other outlets. Sources connected to the Green Party or to the Landtag of Hesse aren't enough. You have to give me at least three good in-depth sources about Eisenhardt for me to accept the draft. Bkissin (talk) 14:43, 23 January 2023 (UTC)
Thanks Bkissin,
I added more references. These references include Focus magazine and Hessen state television. I think it is enough for this brief page.
Since I had translated this page from German to English, I did not know that I should add new references. The original German page was created by your colleagues at Wikipedia. They come to the parliament every term and make a page for the representatives.
Cheers, Eh.ebrahimi (talk) 21:42, 23 January 2023 (UTC)
No worries Eh.ebrahimi! Different language Wikipedias have different rules on content, so what might be OK on the German or French wiki might not be enough on the English wiki and vice versa. Your article looks much better now and I went ahead and accepted the draft. Happy editing! Bkissin (talk) 21:58, 23 January 2023 (UTC)

Draft: Matthew Iduoriyekemwen

Hi Bkissin,

Thanks for taking the time out to review my draft on Matthew Iduoriyekemwen. You left the comment that "Should be notable as a member of a state legislature". Though this would be correct for a member of a state legislature in a western country, this a an article on a person who was a member of a state legislature between 1999 and 2007 in a third world country with minimal internet penetration within his time in state legislature. For context internet penetration in the year 2000 in Nigeria was 0.06% and in 2007 when he left office was 6.77% (Nigerian: internet penetration). This means generally information on notable people from Nigeria from that era is generally limited on the internet especially when they are part of subnational governments. I'd urge you to reconsider your review on this as it is quite difficult to gauge the notability of a sub national govt official from Nigeria active in early internet era. Hayfiz (talk) 08:42, 27 January 2023 (UTC)

I didn't decline the draft, so you are complaining to the wrong person. I was making a note to other reviewers that the subject of the article is notable and should pass any questions surrounding notability. If you'd like me to reconsider that, I'm more than welcome to look at the article more closely to see if this is being written to promote the subject of the article (possibly for undisclosed payments). But as it currently stands, I will let other reviewers check that out. In the meantime, perhaps you reach out to the person who actually declined the review. Bkissin (talk) 15:04, 27 January 2023 (UTC)

Thank you for your reply. Does this mean that I should stop translating? Since yesterday, this problem was very nerve-racking. Because I thought I was doing something useful! Eh.eb 12:14, 28 January 2023 (UTC)
No. Never said you should stop translating, that's very helpful. Onel5969 TT me 12:17, 28 January 2023 (UTC)
Hi Onel5969, I'm an uninvolved editor who happened upon this discussion. I see the article looks fairly neutral/doesn't have any fluff or promotional content. Is there much point to having the cleanup template on the article?
(Also, it should probably have {{Connected contributor (paid)}} on the talk page.) CharredShorthand.talk; 14:16, 28 January 2023 (UTC)

Draft:Transylvanian Landler dialect

Hello! I have added more reliable references to the draft regarding the Transylvanian Landler dialect. Can you please review it and hopefully green-light it for publishing as well, if it now meets all the needed technical criteria? Thank you very much in advance! 1900 KY Gubernatorial Special Election

Hello, Bkissin.
I noticed that you declined my draft for the 1900 Kentucky gubernatorial special election for not having enough sources. However, I largely based the formatting of the draft on the 1895 Kentucky gubernatorial election page, which also has only one source but is nevertheless an accepted page on Wikipedia.
Regardless, given that this would be an election page (many of which do not have much more information than what I have for the draft), if there should be more sources for the page, what kinds of information would you suggest adding to the page?

Thank you, PrusBis6187 PrusBis6187 (talk) 18:11, 8 February 2023 (UTC)

refusal of draft:benocracy

Dear Bkissin, I trust you are well. We are working on this new draft for benocracy. It is the first time we have used wikipedia. The draft was declined, from what we can understand it was thought to be a joke. We just wanted to clarify that it is a serious proposal and is certainly not a joke. If possible we would like some feedback on how to proceed.

Draft:Chen Chien-jen cabinet

Hi there! I’m the creator of the Draft:Chen Chien-jen cabinet. I see that you have declined the submission I posted, I wanted to know what specifically I need to add on that page. I also referred to other cabinet pages and also the page in the original language, which is Mandarin. So I just want to discuss with you and make sure where could be better on this page before I submit another edit proposal. Thank you! Ogiwarahoshi (talk) 04:16, 10 March 2023 (UTC)

My biggest concern is that the article was reliant on one source. Add a couple more reliable sources about the cabinet and I'll accept. Bkissin (talk) 14:42, 10 March 2023 (UTC)
I have added some more sources; however, the edits are declined by another person. Ogiwarahoshi (talk) 18:19, 11 March 2023 (UTC)

I will look into improving sourcing on this article. However I claim that this is not necessary to establish notability, since according to WP:POLITICIAN Argentine provincial deputies are inherently notable. PatGallacher (talk) 23:18, 16 May 2023 (UTC)

My problem was never with WP:NPOL or WP:POLITICIAN. I agree with you that as a member of a provincial legislature they have presumed notability.
However, the article still needs to meet the general notability guideline, i.e. significant coverage in independent reliable sources. Of course the party thinks she's notable! What do local news sources have to say about her? Bkissin (talk) 00:04, 17 May 2023 (UTC)

Hi @Bkissin. Yesterday I submitted a draft which was declined. I noticed that there is already a page for that train. Can we redirect Banaras–Anand Vihar Terminal Garib Rath Express to that page? Thanks. Leavemealoneinhell (talk) 17:43, 31 May 2023 (UTC)

Sure! In the meantime, go ahead and incorporate your information into the existing article. Bkissin (talk) 21:14, 31 May 2023 (UTC)

what can I use as a secondary source?

im making a wikipage about my high school, and when i submit it, it gets declined because i had no secondary sources. since im writing about my school, ive only been using the schools website and getting all the information i need, but thats apparently not secondary. is there anything i can use as a secondary source? Cv822 (talk) 19:07, 31 May 2023 (UTC)

Hi @Cv822:! So a secondary source is usually a newspaper, TV news, and stuff like that. If a primary source is someone's diary or a school's website (a subject writing about themselves) a secondary source is people reporting on what is written. Does that make more sense?
Wikipedia doesn't care as much about what a subject says about themselves, but instead about what is said about them. Look at how a couple other high school articles are set up and maybe that'll help. Bkissin (talk) 21:13, 31 May 2023 (UTC)
Thank you! This is much more helpful! Cv822 (talk) 02:55, 1 June 2023 (UTC)
Would a school ranking count as a secondary source? Cv822 (talk) 03:09, 1 June 2023 (UTC)
It's OK, but not great because it doesn't provide significant coverage. It's just data or numbers. I did a quick google search and found a bunch of articles about Springdale:

Peter Powning - sources added

Hi@Bkissin. I've added several references and multiple sources to an article you rejected last month. I'm hoping you could have a look at the resubmitted Draft:Peter Powning. Thank you kindly. Ookeeffee (talk) 15:38, 4 June 2023 (UTC)

Hello Bkissin,

I'd firstly like to thank you for your prompt response to my submission. Since your rejection, I've removed some sources from the list, including the YT video, the KnowYourMeme page, etc. I've also added some more sources. All the sources listed are articles. They all appear to be secondary and independent.

I would greatly appreciate it if you could review the source list again. Which sources, if any, are appropriate to be listed in a Wikipedia article? And do I understand correctly that the contents of my article do not affect the notability of the subject?

I'd also like to assure you my intentions are not humorous. I apologise if it seemed that way. The article is meant to be factual and informative.

Thanks, WikipeDays (talk) 09:49, 21 July 2023 (UTC)

Draft:Tonle_Bet_Commune

Hi Bkissin,

I saw you reviewed my draft for https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Tonle_Bet_Commune and rejected it citing lack of references.

However I clearly referenced the NCDD application who is a Government entity who maintains the official list of administrative regions in Cambodia.

Why did you reject it then? Dcwilkie (talk) 08:14, 22 July 2023 (UTC)

Hi,

You left a comment on this draft page, saying it needs to be disambiguated because of the article on Ed Fast.

Renaming draft title.

Hi, @Bkissinas you have pointed out while declining my article on HMS Blandford (1741) I have made a typo in the very title itself and typed in 1941(which I sadly did not notice until after submission). Since I don’t think I can rename the title or move the page, would copy and pasting the content into a new draft page be frowned upon? I’m rather new but I do know Wikipedia takes edit history pretty seriously. Highlighterfluid (talk) 04:45, 19 September 2023 (UTC)

I should be able to move the name. There was another 1941 listed in the text of the article as well. It's not a big deal, if you could fix those errors I'll take a second look at it. Bkissin (talk) 15:58, 19 September 2023 (UTC)

Interview with Lawrence Gitterman

Hi, thank you for reviewing my article on Samuel Gitterman. I noticed your comment regarding my interview with Samuel's son Lawrence, and I'd like to explain - I initially wrote a thesis on Gitterman as a capstone for my undergraduate degree (you can see a copy of a presentation I made here: https://doi.org/10.24908/iqurcp15483). I had planned to turn my biography into a Wikipedia article to make Gitterman's work accessible to the public - I truly believe he made a huge contribution to Canadian suburban history. After I wrote the article and made the presentation, Lawrence reached out to me to tell me he was really impressed with my work. I asked for a phone interview with him (which we had on July 3). I've chosen to include some information regarding his family history that I only learned through the interview.

Regarding the death date, you are correct - accidental typo in the infobox. I've changed it in the infobox to match the correct date (1998 not 1988)

Draft:German Volunteer Corps

Hey there, I noticed that you commented and gave me feedback on my draft which I appreciate since nobody else has. I understand the feedback you have provided, Militaryland is a fairly reliable source due to its extensive research team examining various media outlets and footage to understand the origin and purpose of units. Though other sources that are not Telegram, classed as secondary sources, are particularly not as reliable as it mentions very little about the unit as a whole.

Would it be a good idea to try and cut down the article and keep a copy of the current draft in my files so that in the event that reliable articles from news outlets start to pop up about such unit, then it can be easily be integrated back into the article? Thank you for the help, I appreciate it very much. Have a good day, all the best. Davomme (talk) 00:01, 24 September 2023 (UTC)

Hello Bkissin, (also sent to Onel5969), thank you for the interest shown in the article I created, "St. Martin Unity Flag." Kindly note that the 21 references reflected both news media and book sources, authoritative and primary sources. If I may point out, the Wiki article “Unification of Saint Martin”--which one reviewer suggested that I add my lengthier material, which would be unacceptable given the work, comparatively, put into my article-- includes 6 references, 0 further reading, 0 external links. A similar Wiki article, "Morning Star flag" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Morning_Star_flag includes 18 references, 2 further reading, 1 external links. On the other hand, the "St. Martin Unity Flag" article that one comment "indicated needs more in-depth sourcing to show that it passes WP:GNG," includes 21 references, 12 further reading, 3 external links [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:St._Martin_Unity_Flag ]. In addition to outlining the background history and meaning of the "St. Martin Unity Flag" based on authoritative sources, do note that my article states clearly, based on referenced source(s), that the "St. Martin Unity Flag" has in fact been officially recognized by the government in each of the two territories that make up the island of St. Martin. There is no other flag that represents both parts (the traditionalaand historical unity) of the island that has been officially recognized by the legislative and/or executive branch of government, as —"'affirming the unity and identity' of the people of Saint Martin." Draft: The Nest (American TV network)

The Nest is a newly launched TV channel founded by Sinclair Broadcast Group which went on the air October 30. Unfortunately, I have not found any lengthy citations about this newly launched channel already available in over half of American TV markets and I can watch over the air where I live in Flint, Michigan. Multiple Google news searches gave me the citations already in the draft article. Any advice is encouraged. Steelbeard1 (talk) 23:26, 6 November 2023 (UTC)
