June 2023[edit]

Hello, I'm Adakiko. I noticed that you made a change to an article, Anioma people, but you didn't provide a source. I’ve removed it for now, but if you’d like to include a citation to a reliable source and re-add it, please do so! If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Adakiko (talk) 09:09, 12 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

yeah please don't ever do that again , there is no source calling onitsha, onitcha either. And there are multiple onichas in Delta state like Onicha-ukwu, Onicha-Ugbo, and Onicha-Olona. Onitsha is Onicha-Ado "onitsha" is the anglicized version https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Onitsha-Ado Ddddemonstrate (talk) 07:10, 13 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Suggest reading wp:COMMONNAME. Why don't you fix this misspelling ig:Njikọ̀taọ̀hà and the other errors before correcting misspellings here? Also, Italy would appear to be wrong when compared to the way Italians Italiani spell it: it:Italia. There might be a few other examples? Adakiko (talk) 10:34, 14 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Joseph B. Hawkins requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from maggs.com/a-history-of-a-voyage-to-the-coast-of-africa_197198.htm and americanhistory.si.edu/on-the-water/learning-resources/life-sea/hawkins. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Wikipedia and copyright[edit]

Control copyright icon Hello Ddddemonstrate! Your additions to Joseph B. Hawkins have been removed in whole or in part, as they appear to have added copyrighted content without evidence that the source material is in the public domain or has been released by its owner or legal agent under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. (To request such a release, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission.) While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from sources to avoid copyright and plagiarism issues.

  • You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
  • Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify the information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
  • We have strict guidelines on the usage of copyrighted images. Fair use images must meet all ten of the non-free content criteria in order to be used in articles, or they will be deleted. To be used on Wikipedia, all other images must be made available under a free and open copyright license that allows commercial and derivative reuse.
  • If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. Understand, though, that unlike many other sites, where a person can license their content for use there and retain non-free ownership, that is not possible at Wikipedia. Rather, the release of content must be irrevocable, to the world, into either the public domain (PD) or under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. Please see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
  • Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you must follow the copyright attribution steps described at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. See also Help:Translation#License requirements.

It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, please ask them here on this page, or leave a message on my talk page. Thank you. Whpq (talk) 02:15, 19 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Your user page[edit]

August 2023[edit]

Information icon Hello, Ddddemonstrate, welcome to Wikipedia and thank you for your contributions. Your editing pattern indicates that you may be using multiple accounts or coordinating editing with people outside Wikipedia, such as Totsmeimme (talk · contribs). Our policy on multiple accounts usually does not allow this, and users who misuse multiple accounts may be blocked from editing. If you operate multiple accounts directly or with the help of another person, please disclose these connections. Thank you. Liz Read! Talk! 01:37, 1 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi im confused, I only have one account but its against the rules for two people to work on an article with sources cited? and how is that person outside of wikipedia if they have an account with a history of editing? I thought everybody could edit wikipedia and that was the point of the website. And just to clarify I only have one account. Ddddemonstrate (talk) 02:22, 1 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
hello, this is my only wikipedia account, you can check the IP addressed between both accounts, Ddddemonstrate. Totsmeimme (talk) 21:42, 2 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a notice to inform you that a tag has been placed on Igbo Architecture requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, a "See also" section, book references, category tags, template tags, interwiki links, images, a rephrasing of the title, a question that should have been asked at the help or reference desks, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. 2A00:23EE:1478:6AAC:D034:66FF:FE42:A994 (talk) 01:28, 8 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for abusing multiple accounts. Note that multiple accounts are allowed, but not for illegitimate reasons, and any contributions made while evading blocks or bans may be reverted or deleted.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please review Wikipedia's guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text to the bottom of your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  Bbb23 (talk) 23:50, 23 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Ddddemonstrate (block logactive blocksglobal blockscontribsdeleted contribsfilter logcreation logchange block settingsunblockcheckuser (log))

Request reason:

Check my IP I only have one account and I have not been active on wikipedia in about 3 or so days. If you have any proof that I have multiple accounts please show it because I have been dealing with an AFD and have been off wikipedia because of it. Or please list out the allegations because if you check my IP ive been making edits from one computer since I created this account. Ddddemonstrate (talk) 02:57, 24 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

Per WP:CHECKUSER,"On some Wikimedia projects, an editor's IP addresses may be checked upon their request, typically to prove innocence against a sockpuppet allegation. Such checks are not allowed on the English Wikipedia and such requests will not be granted." It is possible that this is your only account, but that would only make this meat puppetry, which is treated the same as sock puppetry. 331dot (talk) 08:21, 24 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Feel free to read my articles and let me know what the biased argument im recruiting people to support is. Or where the argument or debate is at all. My articles are unbiased and sourced and there is no form of meat puppetry taking place here. I don't know why wikipedia was created if it is apparently against the rules to edit someone elses article. Ddddemonstrate (talk) 19:29, 24 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

Procedural decline only. This unblock request has been open for more than two weeks but has not proven sufficient for any reviewing administrator to take action. You are welcome to request a new block review if you substantially reword your request. To be unblocked, you must convince the reviewing administrator(s) that

  • the block is not necessary to prevent damage or disruption to Wikipedia, or
  • the block is no longer necessary because you
    1. understand what you have been blocked for,
    2. will not continue to cause damage or disruption, and
    3. will make useful contributions instead.

Please read the guide to appealing blocks for more information. Yamla (talk) 21:49, 9 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I've placed your post here for proper flow. The Reply function does not accomodate unblock requests well so I fixed that too. 331dot (talk) 19:33, 24 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

It isn't against the rules to merely edit an existing article, but it is against the rules to coordinate edits off wiki improperly or to use multiple accounts improperly. Are you saying that you have nothing to do with and do not communicate with Totsmeimme? 331dot (talk) 19:39, 24 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Notice

The article Second Battle of Ilorin has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Second Battle of Ilorin This stub was moved from article space to draft space by User:Reading Beans, with the explanation that it had grammatical problems. It was then moved back to article space with no improvement in the language by a now-blocked sockpuppet, and so is still not ready for article space although it is in article space.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
