You mentioned you were thinking about updating the history section of Snowboarding. I think you should go for it. The article as it's written now doesn't have nearly enough references or verifiable content -- it looks like it's been written by fans. That's not bad in itself, but as an encyclopedia I think we can do better. Just remember to provide references for your content. There's some good advice in Wikipedia:Be bold in updating pages. --Elkman (Elkspeak) 20:49, 5 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Snowboarding[edit]

Hi Drippingyellowmadness, I agree with Elkman. The suggestion of a test page such as User:Drippingyellowmadness/Snowboarding is a good one. I'm an experienced snowboarder and also a scientist, so whatever you write, between the two of us we can get it into a nice encyclopaedic format. I'd suggest taking what's already written and re-hashing as much of it as you can, firstly to possibly save yourself effort but also not to waste the work of others. Looks like a whole lot of well-meaning enthusiasts have put in a whole lot of work in this article, but it desperately needs references to be credible. Unfortunately snowboarding has mostly evolved as a word-of-mouth culture and there isn't tons of literature out there. If you are keen to do this, I'm happy to help. You can reply on this page as I'll have it on my watchlist. Cheers, Freestyle-69 (talk) 02:45, 27 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Jake Burton Carpenter[edit]

The Jack Burton Carpenter article on this site is a crime. Seriously.

I thought you were going to edit it?

If you were, please do.
