Infobox dates

Hi, when updating infobox stats you should update the |club-update= or |pcupdate= parameter for club stats, or the |nationalteam-update= or |ntupdate= parameter for international stats, by adding five tildes (~~~~~), which generates the specific time the update was made. Thanks, Mattythewhite (talk) 17:42, 26 December 2017 (UTC)

There's no need to fake hours and minutes in timestamp. Just add day-month-year or use ~~~~~. SLBedit (talk) 00:45, 11 May 2018 (UTC)

Can you please keep this in mind. Mattythewhite (talk) 16:02, 7 July 2018 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for January 2

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited 2017–18 A.F.C. Bournemouth season, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Michael Oliver (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Your recent editing history at John Lewis (civil rights leader) shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See BRD for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in your being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly.

italy shorts

italian national football team has white shorts. don't look at footyheadlines', todosobrecamisetas' pictures, look at the photos, please.--Luca•M 08:20, 8 March 2018 (UTC)

On that match (and also one against Sweden), they played as away team with the home team used dark shorts. As of 2nd leg vs Sweden, they just released the kit a few days earlier and probably did not have an alternate. But fine I will follow you for now. But when it became clear that THE OFFICIAL RELEASE combinations are the right one, I will change them back. Flix11 14:21, 8 March 2018 (UTC)

the shorts you have used in the page are wrong: the home shorts have blue navy details not light blue details, as you can see in the photos I linkled before. what about the shorts used by buffon against Macedonia? if the blue shorts were the right ones he would used them. footyheadlines isn't always right: look at the "new" milan logo, look at the as roma main sponsor...--Luca•M 14:55, 8 March 2018 (UTC)
the first ones are red so italy will have red shorts? it doesn't prove anything. untill it will be an official announcement from fifa, uefa, figc and so on we have just the fact that italy has not ever used the blue shorts but only white shorts. the under 19 female team has also a squad photo with white shorts, has played with white shorts.--Luca•M 15:20, 8 March 2018 (UTC)

ok. if you want (and if you have time and sources) i have a job for you: in the italian wiki there is a page about FC Monaco's colors and symbols, but there aren't a lot of kits and just only the modern ones are nice. could you draw them? if you want i can help you with some kits.--Luca•M 15:35, 8 March 2018 (UTC)

Bolding/national ownership/blind reverts

Hello. As I noted in the edit summary, last time there was a discussion on bolding winners, there was a clear majority of editors against doing so (this applies to both parliamentary and presidential elections – see Azerbaijani presidential election, 2018, Armenian presidential election, 2013, Mongolian presidential election, 2017 etc). I don't generally edit American articles, but what happens there isn't an excuse to ignore the consensus that appears to have been arrived at at WP:E&R. You're welcome to start another discussion there if you disagree.

Regarding your comments about "your country", firstly I don't really edit British election articles either, and secondly Wikipedia is an international encyclopedia; anyone can edit an article on any country, and no one editor or group of editors own a country's articles. I almost exclusively edit articles on international elections (you're welcome to review my editing history), so I don't really appreciate this reference.

Lastly, your reverts of my edits appear to have been blind reverts – i.e. you simply hit undo without actually looking at the substance of the edits (and then had to redo part of them). This is really poor practice, so please avoid doing this in the future. Cheers, Number 57 13:53, 26 April 2018 (UTC)

Information icon Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give US invasion of Grenada a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into another page with a different name. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge. Thank you. --Mewaqua (talk) 17:57, 1 May 2018 (UTC)

If on a Saterday you would notice a traffic sign saying "No Parking Mon-Fri", would you remove it too because it doesn't apply at that specific time? – Sb008 (talk) 06:50, 7 May 2018 (UTC)

Hardly nonsense, the KNVB relegations dictate these season rules to apply at all time. Just cause the situation can't occur any more in this season, isn't a reason to delete them. Season rules is general information independent from whether they can occur at a specific time.--Sb008 (talk) 06:57, 7 May 2018 (UTC)
Which edit are you talking about? "Season in progress"? The context is that there will be no changes to the table unless something extraordinary happened (point deduction/relegation because of match fixing, etc.). The playoff matches will not change neither the "play" (which max is 34) nor "W/D/L" and "GF-GA-GD". Therefore I concluded so. – Flix11 (talk) 07:04, 7 May 2018 (UTC)
Indeed, the table will no longer change. But the rules will not change either. "Rules for classification" is general information, it indicates what applies at each stage/time. Just like the traffic sign indicates what applies at each time. Like you don't remove the traffic sign cause at a specific time it doesn't apply, you don't remove part of the claasification rules cause they don't apply at a specific time/stage. Those rules are general.
Furthermore, the info below "Discipline" on the 2017–18 Eredivisie page is incorrect. I understand you like an English source, but Soccerway is not a very reliable source. Especially for "assists" they are even more off. And if you want to use Soccerway,it's better to use www.soccerway instead of int.soccerway. The www URL has IP origin dectection and redirects to the pages in your language. So, assuming you from a country where English is spoken, you will be redirected to the int URL anyway. However people from countries with different languages will be redirected to the pages of their language. If someone is from a country with a language for which no pages exists, they will be redirected to the int URL as well, which is the default (Similar like Google does).--Sb008 (talk) 08:04, 7 May 2018 (UTC)
I see. Is this really about the "Season in progress"?. Because the Template:2016–17 Eredivisie table and Template:2015–16 Eredivisie table also do not have the "Season in progress". I did not erase the "Rules for classification". The cards stats are done. Thanks for the notice. About the assists I already cross-checked it with the Eredivisie website listed as source so it should be correct. I see that the difference between int. and local version is just the language. How can it define which is right and which is wrong? Just checked those (my local version is id.soccerway) and there is no difference. – Flix11 (talk) 08:12, 7 May 2018 (UTC)

The most reliable source for stats is [1]. My mistake about the "Rules for classification", I looked wrong, I thought you removed all from "Season in progress" to just before "End of Season". But you only removed the string "Season in progress". However that string should be there, it's to indicate the rules slightly differ while the season is in progress and at the end of the season. You must be located in Indonesia since you get id.soccerway. The actual information is of course the same for each language. The interface (like menu's) however are changed in the language for the country. Maybe your English is good, but for someone who doesn't speak English that well, an interface in their language makes it easier.--Sb008 (talk) 08:55, 7 May 2018 (UTC)

Read Template talk:2017–18 Eredivisie table--Sb008 (talk) 10:06, 8 May 2018 (UTC)
First, I do not understand what you wrote because it is very long. Second, it has never implemented before, neither in other league tables nor in Eredivisie. The cup winners do not need an X thing because their win is not related to the league and its table, only related to European qualification. It is enough with footnotes like [a] or [b] next to "qualification to ...". I do not understand that you say C-R-O-Q or not at all but you make X there. We no longer need "The winner of the 2017–18 KNVB Cup will qualify for the Europa League third qualifying round , if these winners qualify for the 2018–19 UEFA Champions League that spot will go to the third placed team." because now we know the KNVB Cup winners did not qualify for the UCL. And with that, AZ qualified for the 2nd QR. If you want to explain the qualification in case so, just hope next season will go your way. – Flix11 (talk) 15:13, 8 May 2018 (UTC)
First, being Cup Winner, like Champion is a status. A status which gives a team the right to play EL 3Q round (in this season). For the Champions the starus C is available. For the Cup Winners no letter is available so it has to be defined using X. The Cup may not be earned based on the league ranking, but by a separate tournament, however the Cup and the league are very much related. Because who ever wins the Cup affects the status giving to other rankings in the league. The footnote explains the rules for CL3Q. The rules have not changed because Feyenoord won the cup. The rules are still the same, only a specific part will not come into effect because Feyenoord did not qualify for the CL. Feyenoord winning the Cup changes the status of Feyenoord and not the rules. The rules remain the same. Second, it never been done before is no argument. For centuries mankind thought the earth was flat. Then wiser people discovered the earth was round and not flat. There're millions of other examples like that. If we always would stick to an idea/concept because it's always be thought/done like that, we would still be in the stone age. That doesn't mean the new idea/concept is correct by definition. But I offer reasoned arguments why it is. You offer nothing, you don't understand and it was never implemented before. You don't have a single argument why what you say is correct. In that perspective it's pretty arrogant to say "hope next season will go your way". It's not about "who's way it goes" but about what is correct and what isn't. Whole season you did nothing to update the page. End of season all of a sudden you think you can change things as you like without offering any valid reason. There is a discussion page where you can motivate your opinion. If opinions differ, it can be discussed to reach a consensus. But giving no motivation, and just changing, isn't very constructive. So if you want it your way, present your case, as I did, and it can be discussed. Similar, stop changing the format of the top scorers and assists table until you present valid reasons why it should be different.--Sb008 (talk) 17:31, 8 May 2018 (UTC)

Past tense, present tense

Hi, I would like to talk about your most recent edit in Template:2017–18 Premier League table. I use past tense there because League Cup concluded. FA Cup is yet to finish, but its result was clear enough to make sure that its berth would be passed to the league. It is not related to the fact that Premiership is still going. I think past tense is correct there :) Centaur271188 (talk) 06:25, 9 May 2018 (UTC)

Well okay then. No problem. It is not really matter. Thanks for your help on the Eredivisie table. – Flix11 (talk) 13:00, 9 May 2018 (UTC)

Coupe de France - refimprove

Hi,

You added a refimprove template to 2017–18 Coupe de France. Could you give me a steer as to where you think additional citations are needed? Each match is cited in a report and there are 33 general citations used/reused in the article. Cheers Gricehead (talk) 07:57, 9 May 2018 (UTC)

There are definitely 195 matches. Thus:
Round Teams Matches Cumulative
7th 176 88 88
8th 88 44 132
9th 64 32 164
R32 32 16 180
R16 16 8 188
QF 8 4 192
SF 4 2 194
Final 2 1 195
Cheers, Gricehead (talk) 13:27, 9 May 2018 (UTC)
Okay I miscalculated LOL. Will you update that on 2016–17 Coupe de France and maybe the seasons prior? Thanks a lot. – Flix11 (talk) 13:32, 9 May 2018 (UTC)
Done for 2016–17 Coupe de France (note: 194 matches due to a bye in the 7th round) and 2015–16 Coupe de France. Earlier than that needs more research as some of the information is missing from the articles. Cheers, Gricehead (talk) 14:15, 9 May 2018 (UTC)
Thank you for your service. Cheers, Flix11 (talk) 14:52, 9 May 2018 (UTC)

WikiProject Football - continuing debate

Hi, I have just seen it while randomly checking WikiProject Football: Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Football#Need assistance with Template: 2017–18 Eredivisie table (continued). It is weird that Sb008 pinged me twice in that page and I received none notifications. Have you got any alerts from him (he also summoned you twice)? Italian flag

Hi, I saw your edit on 2006 FIFA World Cup article, and I have a question. I know that in 2002 the Italian government firstly announced the exact colors of the Italian flag, but are we sure that "your" flag is the correct one? I saw this file, which indicates the exact "Pantone" colors that you listed in the edit summary, but the flag is quite different. -- Nick.mon (talk) 17:13, 14 June 2018 (UTC)

@Nick.mon: Hi. It has been a while since the flag was accepted as it is. If you want to talk about it, feel free to discuss that first in the Flag of Italy talk page. Thanks for the notice. – Flix11 (talk) 17:23, 14 June 2018 (UTC)
Yes, excuse me if I asked this to you, but I'm not a great expert in flags and I noticed this fact some months ago, so I hoped that you could tell me more about that. Anyway thanks for your help :) -- Nick.mon (talk) 17:29, 14 June 2018 (UTC)

The same user here,

please do not revert me anymore in this player regarding his international caps. If you see his NFT.com page, you will see he has THREE UNOFFICIAL matches, not recognised by FIFA.

Thanks --Quite A Character (talk) 18:08, 23 June 2018 (UTC)

@Quite A Character: The caps are included even if not recognized by FIFA, for example in Romelu Lukaku and Kevin De Bruyne. This source ([2]) is the official FIFA stats of all players in the 2018 FWC. The caps and goals are updated usually at 21:30 UTC. – Flix11 (talk) 18:11, 23 June 2018 (UTC)

Seems it's TWO unofficial caps and not three (per the RSSSF source i just added to the chart) and not THREE. Please i don't think we add them, but i will ask at WP:FOOTY just to be sure. --Quite A Character (talk) 18:21, 23 June 2018 (UTC)

@Quite A Character: If not, include them all and give notes like in those Belgians pages. I suggest to check out the FIFAdata PDF first. The update timestamp is on the page footer. – Flix11 (talk) 18:24, 23 June 2018 (UTC)

SOCCERWAY is not more important than NFT or RSSSF. The match against Panama was even interrupted (!), and Guadeloupe is not recognised by FIFA. I have reinstated the 147, if we engage in an edit war it will only be bad for both of us.

Found this (please see here http://www.mediotiempo.com/futbol/2017/09/01/en-2007-un-mexico-vs-panama-se-suspendio-por-lluvia), in the fifth paragraph one can read "A pesar de disputarse un tiempo completo, este encuentro no es considerado como de “Selección A” por la FIFA, por lo que no se encuentra registro estadístico en su página oficial.", which means "In spite of one full half being played this is not considered an A-teams one by FIFA, and thus is not statistically recorded in its official page"; however, after talking with User:Mattythewhite, he made a good point and i reinserted the match against Guadeloupe. But there is no sense in inserting this one against Panama.

Hey, thanks for all the updates of the player articles. But can't you just do one whole edit instead of two? Got me some edit conflicts already. Kante4 (talk) 16:04, 6 July 2018 (UTC)

Just do the whole edit. Not sure what is so hard about it? I do it aswell and it's easy and quicker than loading the article, edit the box, loading the article, edit the International section and then load the page again... Kante4 (talk) 16:02, 7 July 2018 (UTC)

You need to get control of your attitude if you want to continue editing here. Wikipedia does not require registration to edit, and that includes issuing legitimate warnings. I suggest reading WP:CIVIL. This is not your personal website to do with as you please. Wikipedia has rules and guidelines, and you don't have any special privilege that allows you to ignore them. Collaborative editing is required. You have numerous warnings on this talk page. If you continue to ignore them you are headed for a another block. Second and third blocks usually are for a long period of time. And it doesn't matter what you or I hear at 46:28. You need a source. Again, read WP:V and WP:RS. The warning stands. 173.209.178.244 (talk) 17:09, 20 July 2018 (UTC)

Tottenham first team kit

The blue/black doesn't go half way up on the shirt, it's only on the bottom part of the shirt. It needs fixing, please review the photo's at the Tottenham website. Govvy (talk) 14:20, 23 July 2018 (UTC)

@Govvy: I left the away kit in generic because the templates currently available (made by JonasBR, see on Spurs' Portuguese Wiki page) are wrong. The sleeves have 2 different colours, the one I listed in the generic is the greyish blue below the shoulders. Since the remake will cost me many times I currently do not have, I left it generic for now and I concentrated to both "easier-to-make" kits and my real life (with thesis looms). As for the home, I did not make those (Jonas did), but if I find you are correct, I will make one more suitable for you. If you can make those away kit, can you make one? I will correct the colors if you get it wrong. – Flix11 (talk) 15:10, 23 July 2018 (UTC)
@Govvy: Done. Is that good enough? – Flix11 (talk) 15:26, 23 July 2018 (UTC)
I don't know, still looks like more than needed on the top shirt, I am not good with colours, doesn't help that I have partial colour-blindness! Govvy (talk) 15:45, 23 July 2018 (UTC)
Oh sorry to hear that. Well I have lowered the accent a little bit and tested it with white shorts, and I thought it was good. Thank you for bringing this up! – Flix11 (talk) 16:08, 23 July 2018 (UTC)

Common name

Hey there! The common names are not usually those mentioned by news channel (they usually also write the whole lot of it), it is better if we use the name mentioned in the websites which contain football data like globalsportsarchive etc. These sites contain all the data of the player including birth dates and their FIFA name.--Anbans 585 (talk) 10:42, 21 September 2018 (UTC)

Hey there! I think that we should not sort the countries by their code as people don't usually know the FIFA codes of different countries, but they usually know the name. Do it like 2018 FIFA World Cup, as you may notice in the goalscorer section, Saudi Arabia's goalscorers are displayed after Russia, although Saudi's code is KSA and not something starting with 'S'. Similarly, Mexican names are displayed before Moroccan, although alphabetically Morocco's 'MAR' should come before Mexico's 'MEX'.--Anbans 585 (talk) 15:43, 4 October 2018 (UTC)

Shamsunnahar Jr. moved to draftspace

An article you recently created, Shamsunnahar Jr., does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Hi, I'm RonBot, a script that checks new non-free file uploads. I have found that the subject image that you recently uploaded was more than 5% in excess of the Non-free content guideline size of 100,000 pixels. I have tagged the image for a standard reduction, which (for jpg/gif/png/svg files) normally happens within a day. Please check the reduced image, and make sure that the image is not excessively corrupted. Other files will be added to Category:Wikipedia non-free file size reduction requests for manual processing. There is a full seven-day period before the original oversized image will be hidden; during that time you might want to consider editing the original image yourself (perhaps an initial crop to allow a smaller reduction or none at all). A formula for calculation the desired size can be found at WP:Image resolution, along with instructions on how to tag the image in the rare cases that it requires an oversized image (typically about 0.2% of non-free uploads are tagged as necessarily oversized). Please contact the bot owner if you have any questions, or you can ask them at Wikipedia talk:Non-free content. See User:RonBot for info on how to not get these messages. Information icon Hello, I'm Stvbastian. I noticed that you made one or more changes to an article, Equestrian at the 2018 Asian Games – Team jumping, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so! If you need guidance on referencing, please see the referencing for beginners tutorial, or if you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. As you can see, you change this ref https://en.asiangames2018.id/news/articles/event-preview-jumping-team-equestrian/ to https://data.fei.org/Result/ResultList.aspx?p=E35B05C037D77E61EAB3C7DDE7A49B70ADA50D7AD8351E81200F33E2AE668927. The ref that you put doesnt provide any information from the sentence. So, if you want tou add ref on the article, make sure what are you adding support the sentences of the article. Stvbastian (talk) 06:35, 13 November 2018 (UTC)

Additional information: if the site is down, try to check on Wayback Machine or archive.is, if the reference already archived or not. If the refence already archived, just change the dead link to archived link. e.g. since this ref: [4] are down, you can change the link to archived version [5], nor change the ref which is not appropriate or doesnt support the sentence.Stvbastian (talk) 06:43, 13 November 2018 (UTC)
– Flix11 (talk) 07:20, 13 November 2018 (UTC)
This is not about an official or unofficial source, but how the citation must verify the statement in the text (Please read: WP:GOODREFS). As you can see in the Equestrian at the 2018 Asian Games – Team jumping, the sentence "This was the eighth appearance of this event since its debut at the Asian Games in 1986 in Seoul", those words cite from the archived version that you said cant be accessed, but when i try to open it was accessible: https://web.archive.org/web/20181112053506/https://en.asiangames2018.id/news/articles/event-preview-jumping-team-equestrian/ . But you removed that source and change with ( https://data.fei.org/Result/ResultList.aspx?p=E35B05C037D77E61EAB3C7DDE7A49B70ADA50D7AD8351E81200F33E2AE668927 ) which doesn't explain the statement at all.

Then, the source from the FEI that you cite was not the most reliable source. You should know which one is better used and accepted as a reference in wikipedia (Read: WP:STICKTOSOURCE, WP:SOURCE). This ref ( https://www.fei.org/stories/saudi-arabia-takes-team-gold-asian-games ), will be more reliable than the the source that you put for the statement "Saudi Arabia won the gold medal, followed by Japan and Qatar."

In the Equestrian at the 2018 Asian Games – Team jumping#Schedule section you also put sources which was not verify the statement in the text. The column in that section talk about date and time, but the source that you put, doesnt cite about "time" at all.Stvbastian (talk) 12:30, 13 November 2018 (UTC)

@Domdeparis: It is notable as it was the first for the group, if merged to any pages (including what you did) it will be enormous because this year's (now running) is the 5th edition and each contains many info such as results table and timeline. This information should not only be kept in the Indonesian Wikipedia as the ID Wiki usually not comply with Wikipedia policies (too many unsourced info, etc.) and that the fans of the group are not only speak Indonesian. Besides, there are already 2 pages of the 2 later iterations of this and the 4th edition redirected solely because of lack of refs. I want to share information about the group to the English-speaking world since anything JKT48 here are so scarce (only 3 pages with "JKT48" in its title that might deemed notable: profile, members, and discography). It is very little compared to AKB48. All of its singles are in ENWIKI, JKT48 has not mentioned in recent singles covered from AKB48. The election for performers in a group is a thing only happens in the 48 Group (AKB48), currently only exist in Asia. And it is held annually, just like beauty pageant with a twist. So please return the page to the previous version, I hope this will make people know more about the group and its unique tradition. Thank you. – Flix11 (talk) 18:16, 13 November 2018 (UTC)
Hi Flix11, once again you have a problem with "sources". I will give you some suggestions. In Wikipedia we need some media coverage to support the notability, not only the single source from jkt48.com site. So, for your next article, you should add some reliable source to support the article (Read: WP:SOURCE, WP:GNG). I hope it can help you. Stvbastian (talk) 23:58, 13 November 2018 (UTC)
@Stvbastian: Thank you for your enlightenment. @Domdeparis: here are some other sources related: by Detik.com, one of the most prominent news website in ID, by Hai, was also issued teen magazine for about 40 years until June 2017, and by MetroTV, one of the most prominent and is the first news TV in ID. I hope these will be enough. Thanks. – Flix11 (talk) 00:45, 14 November 2018 (UTC)

Notice

The file File:2018 Asian Games Shooting Rifle.png has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Decorative use of non-free symbol in Shooting at the 2018 Asian Games. There is already one similar image (File:2018 Asian Games Shooting.png) being used for primary identification purposes in the main infobox of the article, so the claim in the non-free use rationale for this file that it is "to serve as the primary means of visual identification at the top of the article dedicated to the entity in question" is not true at all. This particular symbol itself is not the subject of any sourced critical commentary anywhere in the article, so the context for non-free use required by WP:NFCC#8 is lacking. Moreover, although this is slightly different from the symbol being used in the main infobox, there's no need for another image of someone shooting per WP:NFCC#3a since it basically provides the same encyclopedic information

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. -- Marchjuly (talk) 05:54, 20 November 2018 (UTC)

The above also applies to File:2018 Asian Games Shooting Pistol.png, File:2018 Asian Games Shooting Skeet and Trap.png and File:2018 Asian Games Shooting Running Target.png. -- Marchjuly (talk) 05:55, 20 November 2018 (UTC)

Martial arts

I see you have one more brilliant idea but before "fixing" things you should know the reason I created that page Martial arts at the Asian Games and not 4 separate pages for those 4 martial arts sports that wasn't because I didn't want to. because in wikipedia you can't justify creating such pages for sports appearing only "ONCE" in the Games. and since they were held under the name of "Martial Arts" officially I thought that page could cover them all and also that justifies existing that page. I would create separate pages for any of those sports if they are going to be included to any future AG Games. and how do you think you can delete the information without at least creating "List of Asian Games medalists in ju-jitsu" (and Kurash and Sambo) ? and as I said before if someone nominates them for deletion there is a big chance they will get deleted because of wikipedia policy. Mohsen1248 (talk) 15:08, 26 November 2018 (UTC)

@Mohsen1248: I have returned it. As in here wushu is included, should it be added also? – Flix11 (talk) 15:15, 26 November 2018 (UTC)
Wushu had been in AG before as a separate sport so I think no. actually personally I would like to create separate pages for all those 4 pages , the current way is not my ideal situation but for now this is the best option (to keep those pages away from deletion) until those sports get into the Games at least one more time in future events. I also don't know what to do for Jet Ski and Paragliding, creating separate pages for them ? or keeping them in one page as "Mechanical sports" (what was the original idea to keep them as one sport). Mohsen1248 (talk) 15:20, 26 November 2018 (UTC)
@Mohsen1248: I think for now it should be either directed straight to 2018 event pages (eg. Paragliding at the 2018 Asian Games) or make a redirect page for each (eg. Paragliding at the Asian Games, the content will be #REDIRECT Paragliding at the 2018 Asian Games), as the content will be almost 100% the same. I prefer the first because to change content in a redirect page is kind of harder as it will summon some admins. – Flix11 (talk) 15:27, 26 November 2018 (UTC)
well yeah I guess so, just to make things clear. so you mean redirecting Paragliding at the Asian Games to Paragliding at the 2018 Asian Games, that makes sense. Mohsen1248 (talk) 15:36, 26 November 2018 (UTC)
@Mohsen1248: Correcting. It is better like now. The 2018 articles already stated on the right column. – Flix11 (talk) 15:40, 26 November 2018 (UTC)
I'm fine with both. even though redirecting won't cause problem here. this is different that moving pages. you can change that anytime you want. Mohsen1248 (talk) 15:57, 26 November 2018 (UTC)

One more thing, I see you are blanking the white part of the pictograms. some of them still have it. Water polo, Tennis, Squash, Swimming, Soft tennis, Equestrian and Boxing as far as I check, can u fix them too ? beside that it would be even better if you can keep the height and width exactly the same. Mohsen1248 (talk) 16:24, 26 November 2018 (UTC)
@Mohsen1248: I have blanked many of the pictograms, those just won't go in tables. If you click the images on those specific pages, you will see that all of them also have blank BGs. So I have given up on those. LOL. – Flix11 (talk) 16:34, 26 November 2018 (UTC)
Is there anyone know wheres i can find list of canoe polo athletes at the 2018 Asian Games? Mohsen1248, Flix11.. Stvbastian (talk) 15:09, 27 November 2018 (UTC)
@Stvbastian: Oh, you don't know how much I tried and searched for that, I found some lists here and there. mostly from national federations. I also sent few emails to the organizers, still no answer. I also found out Iranian teams were consisted of 7 athletes instead of 6 while the official handbook says each team can't be more than 6 ! Mohsen1248 (talk) 15:33, 27 November 2018 (UTC)

Photos for presidential election boxes

There's no rule saying that you can't have photos from later periods in time to represent subjects in a presidential election article. This is evident from the number of articles for which this is true and has been true for quite some time. I'd recommend suggesting this as a policy if this is something you're passionate about, or discussing this with other contributors before editing a bunch of articles en masse. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Journob (talkcontribs) 04:16, 28 November 2018 (UTC)

1962 stadiums

Hi again, I see you are changing stadium names for 1962 AG just because probably those names don't sound familiar for you in 2018. but you should know there is a source for all of them. maybe some of them don't exist nowadays or have different names but I have a PDF final for the organizing committee (something like an official report). you can check it here. Mohsen1248 (talk) 11:15, 30 November 2018 (UTC)

@Mohsen1248: I appreciate it, but the thesis does not distinguish the venues to which sports, therefore still causing ambiguity. For instance the Main Stadium was used for football and athletics. When the athletics (25 to 30 Aug) event was held, the football event (25 Aug to 4 Sep) would of course held somewhere else. That is why I did the edits. But thank you so much for this. – Flix11 (talk) 15:57, 30 November 2018 (UTC)
Check page 245, this is a screen shot from the official document, that includes all stadiums for all sports. they mention two stadiums for football. I also have official report from Malaysian NOC having the same document about the stadiums. (with some slim differences) that's not available online I guess but I can email that in case you want to be sure. Mohsen1248 (talk) 16:09, 30 November 2018 (UTC)
@Mohsen1248: I expected to see the venues for football were GBK and Ikada Stadium. On which part it was said two stadiums for the event? Maybe you can put it on GDrive and post the link here. Thank you. – Flix11 (talk) 17:00, 30 November 2018 (UTC)
Found a chart on page 279. Thank you so much for sharing this "buried" thesis. Hopefully Indonesians can learn more about our own history like President Sukarno said amid his last days in office: "Never leave your history!" – Flix11 (talk) 17:05, 30 November 2018 (UTC)
I took screenshot from that PDF file . you can see it here and here
well I spent lots of times searching to find results and reports about the history of the Asian Games. and my search is not finished yet. still lots of missing info. some of my sources are not online , I can't put them as references for the articles. Mohsen1248 (talk) 19:03, 30 November 2018 (UTC)
@Mohsen1248: Wait, there are differences between both, like in football, basketball, and table tennis. Even there was judo according to Malaya's, while there was not in the thesis or any other sources. But the Malaya's on table tennis (took place in Senayan Gym instead of Istora) sounds fit. – Flix11 (talk) 09:36, 1 December 2018 (UTC)
Yeah I said there are small differences, about Judo. I assume that was in original program but didn't held probably because of lack of entries. because I also searched a lot in old newspapers about this Games and never read anything about Judo. now we are here, some medalists are missing in swimming and waterpolo, is that possible for you find them ? I already tried a lot myself and no avail but I thought it doesn't hurt asking. Mohsen1248 (talk) 10:22, 1 December 2018 (UTC)
@Mohsen1248: Well I will leave the medals to you. BTW, I found this map of AG complex (GBK) and there was no volleyball stadium inside. So where were the volleyball event took place in your opinion? – Flix11 (talk) 09:22, 2 December 2018 (UTC)

Piping of names

FYI, Atlanta United FC should be left in the un-piped form at all times, as it is the full and common name of the club. SounderBruce 04:33, 9 December 2018 (UTC)

Replaceable fair use File:GBK post-renovation January 2018.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:GBK post-renovation January 2018.jpg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and add the text {{Di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}} below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing <your reason> with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable.
  2. On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. ViperSnake151  Talk  16:17, 19 December 2018 (UTC)
