You said on .NERGAL's talk page "Silvastorm, I think you mean User talk:.NERGAL/Archive 1". Actually that's wrong, because that would create a TALK page for an uncreated page called User:.NERGAL/Archive 1, which is what you should create in the first place. This is what I've done in the past. Sorry if this is confusing... -- SilvaStorm

Oh yeah, of course...I did it differently on Lostpedia, that's all. Thanks for the tip. -- SilvaStorm

Hi Geniac, thanks again for all your help with the 1013 Project articles. My students are learning a lot from their interaction with Wikipedians. They're starting to get the hang of this, and they seem to be enjoying themselves. "Final" revisions on their articles are due next Thursday, so please help look out for them over the next week. 1013-josh 07:10, 4 May 2007 (UTC)

69.72.2.72

I have restored the notice about Copper.net that you modified at User talk:69.72.2.72. It is a fixed Coppper.net IP for some reason my non-IT mind can't figure out. If you can explain that and how you came up with the Adzilla info please let me know. 69.72.2.72 15:13, 8 May 2007 (UTC)

(this is a duplicate message. Also left at User talk:69.72.2.72)
Simple empirical knowledge. My ISP is copper.net and has been fixed at this IP for many months (which it should NOT be acording to Copper.net tech support, they are supposed to give me random IP addresses every log on, so there is a mystery there). I have tried other physical computers in other buildings using copper.net accounts and they all log on at this IP address. I have a Wikipedia user name as well and it is totally hosed if someone blocks this IP. It would be interesting to see if the vandal cited above is copper.net.
Like I said I know squat about IT so can't tell you why it all works this way (although you may be able to tell me why). FYI - clicking that "IP info" link for me gets the following:

Their is something fishy about this user; he is handling over barnstars, and receifing them, for nothing (he has 9, and one award, and only 900+ contrribs). It seems to me, he has several sock-puppets, and I would like to request a check-user in him, to see about his other accounts. You might tell him about it. Deletion of Green Andy

Sir:

I apologize for my foolish actions in deleting the deletion template (ironic!), I was feeling a little cocky and I fear that I may have started a problem. I have tried to find all possible sources to show that this artist is, in fact notable. However, I have gotten 75% of my facts directly from the artist, but I think 2-3 credible sources should suffice. In the case that it does not, I can make efforts to contact the artist whom I have freindly relations with, but keep in mind, these things don't happen overnight. I need to email the artist, asking him for reveiws and other paraphenlia, and then read those articles and put them in the Wikipedia page. I don't think that can be accomplished tonight, as I am a minor and require adaquate sleep, but I may be able to make amendments to the page tomorrow afternoon. Please do not delete my article between now and then, because I am only trying to serve the public, by showing them an interesting artist that deserves some kind of recognition. If you would make sure that no problems arise during my absense from Wikipedia during the day, I would be much obliged. Thank you for your suggestions, and please, if there are any more comments that could become a catalyst for my progress into the Wikipedia world, I would be deeply in your debt. Thank you, again.

Happy Editing! --Stealthrabbit127:: 02:44, 12 May 2007 (UTC)

Spam

Hi, I seem to have a problem with [1] who keeps spaming articles relating to Indian travel. I wasn't sure what to do so I thought I would let you know. Thanks AdamJWC 13:36, 15 May 2007 (UTC)

This is one of them [2]
 • [3]
 • [4] some of these were done once in some article and some were added a second time after being reverted. I could probably provide more if needed, but the history should be in the first link . Thanks AdamJWC 13:51, 15 May 2007 (UTC)
 • [5]
 • Here is the page history , its not just kashmir its Shalimar Gardens (Kashmir) [6]

Aah, I see now. Thank you for correcting that warning. Let me know if they do it again or if you see another IP address post the same URL to an article

Thanks for that, I will. AdamJWC 14:14, 15 May 2007 (UTC)

Spammed again

The same guy is still spamming India related articles. Heres the edit summary [7]. Thanks AdamJWC 05:47, 16 May 2007 (UTC)

Sorry to bother you

I have another problem with another ip user, he has added spam to article relating to sex tourism an medical tourism, he has also reverted archived comments from my talk page on more that one accasion and vandalised my user page as well. If you want I can provide examples or just the link to the IP address [8]
AdamJWC 14:10, 15 May 2007 (UTC)

Here is a complate he has made on the talk page about me removing his link, he also explain what the web link is [9]. AdamJWC 14:19, 15 May 2007 (UTC)
Hi Geniac
I have the diff links for user 138.130.190.73 for you to have a look at, this guy has been adding content to my user page and reinserting spam links into sex tourism time after time, here are some examples.

The other side of the story to 'Sorry to bother you'

Hi, I am the user currently in dispute with Mindys12345/AdamJWC regarding The Female Sex Tourism article. I think you have seen the justifications that I have set out on the article's talk page. Unfortunately an edit war has developed and this user has simply resorted to vandalism of page, by which I mean obstinate reversion of edits without any explanation on the talk page and what is really a misleading attempt to suggest that the links that I have added are spam. We are both going to come up against the three revert rule soon enough. I intend to develop the body of the article further but at this stage want to get a few more links to news accounts of the activities described in the article and then develop appropriately sourced material from there. I don't really want to be wasting time in an edit war. Is there anything you can do to mediate this or otherwise assist? Many thanks. --138.130.190.73 07:51, 16 May 2007 (UTC)

Thanks - have listed for third opinion --138.130.190.73 01:17, 17 May 2007 (UTC)

???

I know who that is, I just never did anything like that... It must have been someone else... phishing or something. I have no clue, but we can investigate. Tell me if you find anything more. I know the user in real life, he tends to vandalize, but I have by no means gone to breaking Wikilaws to get him out of the way, that's just not right. Thank you for telling me about this, I'll get to the bottom of it.

Happy Editing! --Stealthrabbit talk 16:16, 18 May 2007 (UTC)

Found it

I found what you were talking about. I don't think he goes on wikipedia that much, as the only reason he created that account was to bypass the block on the IP adress he usually edits from. Therefore, someone must have been pretty mad, and used my name and that of Nihiltres. Or Omnifish is just trying to pull something. I don't know which. Plus, I doubt he could do something like that; he isn't that experienced.

Thank you again for your inquiry. This could be a problem.

Once again, Happy Editing! --Stealthrabbit talk 16:23, 18 May 2007 (UTC)

Hmmmm...

I took a second look and concluded that I have no idea what you are talking about. I'll talk to Omnifish and see what I can conclude, but I made no edits of this destructive nature. It is, however, something that I should take responsibility for, to make sure my reputation is not damaged. Honestly, I don't think of myself as the kind of person who would do this kind of thing. Do you?

Thanks for pointing this out. I'll try to see what this is all about. I hope this isn't a waste of time, but I assure you, I'll clear it up. In the meantime, is it acceptable to delete the content in question?

Thanks again, --Stealthrabbit talk 16:33, 18 May 2007 (UTC)

Blocked.

Hi, you've blocked 129.94.6.28, that's the proxy server for the entire UNSW campus. No great biggy, but blocking several tens of thousands of potential users from contributing is somewhat sledgehammer/nut I feel. The block, will probably expire before you read this.

Don't get me wrong, I respect the work admins do, I'm assuming you didn't mean to block so many. —Preceding unsigned comment added by MJoyce (talkcontribs) 00:56, May 23, 2007

Advertising personal details, Campa Cola

Hi Geniac, I seem to be having a problem with an article called Campa Cola. This one user seems to be using different Ip addressed to add company and personal details to the article to help promote this business, this seem to be happening on a daily basis and when I had a look through the page history, it looks as though its happened almost a hundred times before. Would it be possible to have this page locked or semi protected to prevent this from happening. Even though it is a different ip address every time, you can tell its the same person. Please check out these diffs. [15]. You would have to go back prior to my revision. Another thing I have recently turned the infobox into a template, under the name of Template:Cola hoping that this would confuse them, as they were adding these details to the info box thanks.--AdamJWC 06:51, 29 May 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for all you help with this problem, I actually went back through all the page history and found that it was happening nearly every second edit for some time, but once again thanks and I will keep a look out myself.--AdamJWC 09:04, 30 May 2007 (UTC)
Hi, I am not sure if you are aware but there is a user account called User:Campacola and this may link to one of the Ip address that has been adding spam. Have a look at the page history for this user. I think he copies and pastes the info from the user page to the article. Thanks--AdamJWC 12:07, 31 May 2007 (UTC)
Hi Geniac, It looks as though the Campa Cola people are at it again, I have just reverted the article back to your revision. Do you think it would be appropriate to protect the page becuase this is going to be an on-going problem--AdamJWC 13:00, 7 June 2007 (UTC)
They might be doing this from different internet cafes--AdamJWC 13:15, 7 June 2007 (UTC)

I refactored your 2 day block to an indef per this legal threat... then I noticed your block was done after that threat and a warning by Pascal. I initially misread and thought the legal threat came after your block (and yes I know that makes no sense... he wouldn't be able to post at Pascal's page after you blocked him... brain no work today). Anyway, I'll switch it back if you think the 2 day is more appropriate. Regardless, my apologies, I didn't mean to overwrite your block for something that had happened before the block.--Isotope23 15:32, 5 June 2007 (UTC)

Cool, I just didn't want my action to be a WP:WHEEL because that was not my intention. I've offered the editor a future unblock if he recinds his legal threat. Looks like a schoolkid to me.--Isotope23 15:38, 5 June 2007 (UTC)

Articles for creation/2006-10-06

I am unable to revert the vandalism in last edit to Wikipedia:Articles for creation/2006-10-06 as the page contains a blacklisted URL somewhere in its history. I note that you have been recently editing the article and hope you can help.

I also note you are the same admin who has recently dealt with a number of vandalism edits from Dr Challoner's Grammar School, where I work as an IT Technician. I have been chasing these incidents up on our side and passing them on for disciplinary action. I fully support your actions if you go ahead with your recent warning that the IP will be blocked from editing; please note that the IP for our second proxy should also be blocked as I have noted on the talk page for the IP in question. Several students have been banned from internet use indefinitely in recent days over these incidents and the latest one will likely be dealt with similarly. Jay Schlackman 10:31, 8 June 2007 (UTC)

T.I. discography

Which section does the source is needed so I can find them?? Georgia Peachez 19:31, 28 June 2007 (UTC)

Ok I saw most of them on soundscan and that was a while back. I might have to look for them again. Georgia Peachez 20:20, 28 June 2007 (UTC)
I found the soundscan for the sales of his solo albums from one of the best reliable southern websites. BUT you have to register to view them, so what do I do? Just add the link for the website or copy and paste the soundscan??
Another problem, i'm getting tired of reverting back the Grand Hustle Records article about B.G.. It's been said that he joined Grand Hustle, I added the source and everything and the new registers keep removing it. Georgia Peachez 19:15, 29 June 2007 (UTC)
Wordofsouth.com, the owner posts album sales every week on his messageboard. He used to do those "out of the radar" album sales, but he hasn't been doing them lately. The last time amount I saw on that site for Trap Muzik was around 977,999 or something like that, I dont know why it was changed to platinum and it was last certified gold. For "I'm Serious" it said it sold around 268,000+. For King and Urban Legend, his album sales are/we're mentioned on his website and some Billboard article. It said "Urban Legend sold 1.3 million and King is at 1.7 mill. according to Nielsen SoundScan". Georgia Peachez 20:02, 29 June 2007 (UTC)
Ok these what I found on his website.
I'm Serious: 267,760
Trap Muzik: 997,199 (should be platinum by now)
Urban Legend: 1,271,954
25 To Life: 177,597
and these were posted on his messageboard February 9th 2006. Georgia Peachez 02:53, 30 June 2007 (UTC)

Hello/Nissan Be-1

Hi mate,

thank you for your kind words. I´ll go through Nissan Pao and Nissan Figaro et al. in a similar way, if and when I´ll have the time to do so; also please note that I´m not a native speaker of English, so I might make a mistake from time to time. On the other hand, translating texts on cars is what I currently do for a living. BTW, I wrote a lot of car-related articles and did some editing on our German WP some time ago, but I more or less gave up when I had to realize that there are some folks out there who think they can monopolize certain pages...

Thank you very much again and take care. --328cia 20:57, 2 July 2007 (UTC)

Dear Geniac

Thank you for your patience with me. I wrote an article a long time ago but its still in the articles for creation under “Eytan Rockaway”. I submitted more links that you also noted and I don’t know why it’s still in creation after all this time. Also I have a two new links to Add and don’t now how to add them. One is from the Edinburgh news and the other is from the music video database (imdb for music videos), both very reputable sources

http://edinburghnews.scotsman.com/index.cfm?id=738042007

And also

http://onlinemusikvideos.com/director/eytan%20rockaway

Could you please assist me in adding them and finally getting the article out of Creation and into the regular Wiki?

Thanks you very much

Dan Eyal

Andy Barnett

I share the same IP address as Andy but was writing from the point of view of a fan of his talk show and his career. I don't know how to do a disambiguation page, where you have a separate page for Andy Barnett the radio personality and a separate page for Andy Barnett the guitarist. Can you help make these two pages so I can edit the one without interfering with the other? I'm trying to learn how to put pictures, and more links to Andy's show and to put in more biographical information like other radio personalities have (IE; Rush Limbaugh, Howard Stern, Sean Hannity, etc...)

I could use your help if you have time, thank you very much!

Hi Geniac

i saw your comment about the article being created however its in clean up mood and i was wondering if I could use your expertise for a moment as for cleaning it up. Thanks again D

References--G-Unit

Hi, I noticed in your recent edit to G-Unit that you put a date at the end of the reference. Is it neccessary or 'better' to do this rather than have no date? if yes, then does the date have to be the last time the page was used or worked successfully?

Thanks --The-G-Unit-Boss 19:18, 10 July 2007 (UTC)

Severe copyright violation.

You can perhaps understand how shocked I was to see myself on the internet; Image:Pasen 2007 045.JPG, is a picture my grandson took from me weeks ago! I don't now how it came on the internet, but what I do know, is that I want it to be removed as quickly as possible. Such things cannot be tolerated! It is a complete violation of personal information I don't want to be within the public domain. I am a amature-sailor and won some sailboat-races, so it is quite possible I am on the internet, but I never gave permition for this to happen. Can you give me the name and some information on the user who uploaded this? Is it used more often? Were else can it be seen? I wanna know! I want it removed completely! -The Bold Guy- 12:05, 12 July 2007 (UTC)

Hi. It looks as though the Campa Cola guys are at it again. I had to revert the article three times so far. Thanks --User:Mindys12345 13:42, 18 July 2007 (UTC)

(using a single-use template didn't prevent repeated insertion of advertising)

I think it did have an effect, the offender tried to put his details back in the infobox, after he saved he saw that his details were not in the infobox and running across the page,[16] so he went back in for another edit and remove the details of his own accord.[17] If you have a look at the page history you will see that this happened and that he has not returned since. Now that the infobox has been reinserted, this has made it easier for them to re-offend. I think another idea would be to put an info box <!--inside one of these--> with a template either above or below, so that when they put their details in the infobox they will not appear at all. I don't think these people now how to format and this will confuse. Thanks Adam.J.W.C.

Yes it looks as though it has worked. I think if they really wanted to they could easily have found another terminal as they were doing once before. Maybe they got sick of wasting rupees at internet cafes or after realising they could not format the infobox properly decided to give up. I have a feeling that they will return though. Thanks. Hi, I have been adding reference names and access date to a lo tof references. But im not sure if im doing it 100% correctly. Can you check the G-Unit article to see if I am? Before I changed the refs on it there was no ref names or access date on any of them just the link. Thanks --The-G-Unit-Boss 19:54, 26 July 2007 (UTC)

Hi, Thanks. It does help, So basically, it goes :

But can the full stops be commas? so:

Ok, Thanks. Is The above format preferred over the cite web? The cite web one uses a lot more code and space. Thanks --The-G-Unit-Boss 15:36, 27 July 2007 (UTC)

Ok, Thanks for all of your help. :) --The-G-Unit-Boss 19:58, 27 July 2007 (UTC)

User Sub-Page Deletion/Artist Discography

Hi, I just wanted to ask how to request for a sub-page of my user page to be deleted? Also is it correct or "good" to add singles into an artists discography section like I did here? I saw it on the Gwen Stefani article and that is a featured article so I used it as an example. Thanks --The-G-Unit-Boss 19:44, 7 August 2007 (UTC)

Ok, Thanks. Also could you please have a look at the Eminem discography page at the "Singles" section. Where should I put all of the references because at the moment they are as http links. it looks awkward when I put them under the chart type column but then If i put them under the "song" column it may give the impression that the refs are for the song names not the chart positions. Thanks --The-G-Unit-Boss 15:37, 8 August 2007 (UTC)
Thanks. I shall do that. --The-G-Unit-Boss 16:46, 8 August 2007 (UTC)

Sorry, Geniac

Hello, Geniac! I am back. I was the IP-adress from which Mrlob started his whole bunch of sock-accounts. After them, I tried to make a fresh new start; Hagawaga-Oegawaga; it failed. After many good contributions to this great website, I got discovered thanks to troll Roland'91 (who is not my sockpuppet, BTW, but Blowland's), and blocked on sight... Well, and than I lost H.O, and got blocked for a month with my IP-adress. Know, I want to clear my name, and apologize to all people who where envolved in this matter. So here it comes; Sory for what I did, I hope you can forgive me my sockpuppetry... 84.87.138.105 08:53, 9 August 2007 (UTC)

G-Unit Records

Hi, Since the last time we spoke references I am now sure that I have got it perfect. Just wanted to ask if you could have a look at the difference of the G-Unit Records article before and after I added all of the refs and cited them. Is that OK now or am I still missing something? Thanks --¤ The-G-Unit-฿oss ¤ 18:33, 24 August 2007 (UTC)

Ok, Thanks for checking that out. --¤ The-G-Unit-฿oss ¤ 21:52, 27 August 2007 (UTC)
