Hi Hydrogencat2020! I noticed that you recently marked an edit as minor at 2009 California college tuition hike protests that may not have been. "Minor edit" has a very specific definition on Wikipedia – it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typo corrections or reverting obvious vandalism. Last night, I was trying to create pages for a group of American education leaders that I have been researching (see Regents of the University of California, and I started new pages for the ones who didn't have wikipedia pages yet using information that is available about them on a public website [1] My intention was to go through and revise the pages, to ensure that they met copy right standards. I didn't realized I was being threatened with blockage until I'd finished creating their pages. I was startled to find that I was blocked before I could complete the task getting their pages done and in good wikipedia-style order. My huge apologies! I'm a bit new to wikipedia, and didn't realize what the protocol was for starting new pages. I would be honored if my account could be reinstated. Thank you so much for your consideration. Last night, I was trying to create pages for a group of American education leaders that I have been researching (see Regents of the University of California, and I started new pages for the ones who didn't have wikipedia pages yet using information that is available about them on a public website [2] My intention was to go through and revise the pages, to ensure that they met copy right standards. I didn't realized I was being threatened with blockage until I'd finished creating their pages. I was startled to find that I was blocked before I could complete the task getting their pages done and in good wikipedia-style order. My huge apologies! I'm a bit new to wikipedia, and didn't realize what the protocol was for starting new pages. I would be honored if my account could be reinstated. Thank you so much for your consideration.

Hi Peter Shirt58 and Yalma Yamla, Thank you very much for explaining the situation, and I very much agree that public profiles are not free to use. I made a poor choice. While there is no excuse for such a poor choice, I feel I should explain what happed. I was attempting to edit multiple pages at the same time with an unstable internet connection. My goal had been to use the (copyrighted) text of the profile pages as a *draft*. That text was never intended to become public. While trying to save my work amidst internet access issues, I made the poor choice to hit "publish" on all the pages I was working on. What I should have done instead was to simply save the drafts on my machine, and waited to hit "publish" until after deleting all copyrighted material (which I was only using as part of my drafting process and was never intended to be public). My intention was to come back in right away and fix & finish editing the pages to ensure that there was no copyrighted content. This was a poor choice. I should have not hit publish at all. I realize now that my actions created extra work for wikipedia editors, and I understand the seriousness of copyright violations. I am very sorry and I promise not to do anything like that again, should my editing abilities be restored. Thank you very much for considering. 20:01, 26 July 2022 (UTC)

However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
