Removing Gurmukhi Content

Hello Kashmiri It is okay to remove the contents I shared; Assuming your knowledge of Gurmukhi-Sikh Way of Living as reasonable, please ask yourself - does the current contents meet the Wiki verifiability criteria? or you are using your privilege and position to remove my contents? Does it present a " neutral point of view and present what the various sources say, giving each side its due weight." had that been the case, I would not have added my perspective; Since the time of GuR Nanak, the peripheral scholars have challenged Sikhi/Gurmukhi having sacred origin - where is that even mentioned; Sikhi has survived the test of time despite opposition; Please send if possible a note to authors of Gurmukhi post to share and present "neutral point" I would not add anything. Else show me where is the perspective of Sikhs who consider Gurmukhi as sacred? You or others who have contributed would appreciate that your resources are selected from colonial, post colonial Sikhi distortion literature, and it is okay because the connection to the peripheral is much easier to establish than to the search of sacred. You might like to read WP:BRD. Starting an edit war and accusing the other editor of vandalism will not take you far while accusing them of religious bias constitutes a personal attack. That's not how Wikipedia works. There was a problem with your edits. In two cases you removed actual images of article subjects and replaced them with calligraphy, which did not improve the articles. In the remaining cases you added huge calligraphied names to infoboxes, for no purpose. Not interested in edit-warring, so I just leave my comment here: none of the references you added actually verify the subject's ethnicity (which is what stating a person's descent would imply), the references added allude (incorrectly) to the subject's country of birth, which was the Soviet Union (not Russia). For all we know he could be of Tatar descent...I'm not sure why citing his ethnicity is important, but this should not be conflated with his country of birth, which the lede does (incorrectly!).--Goldsztajn (talk) 00:26, 30 April 2019 (UTC)

There is a lot of incomplete information. For example, some sources claim that the guy has been UK citizen for 20 years; but others claim he completed his higher education in Russia less than 20 yaers ago. As far as I can tell, the guy has not renounced his Russian citizenship (it's not easy to do so) and is technically a dual national.

As to your remark, I have no objections against finding a better word than "descent", but let's accept that by convention the term "descent" applies to the country of origin, not to ethnicity. Consequently, we talk of Americans of Indian descent and not "Americans of Gurjar descent", and so on. — kashmīrī ^TALK 15:30, 1 May 2019 (UTC)

MMR controversy category

That category is virtually empty, most articles have been moved to more appropriate places long since. The MMR vaccine is an innocent bystander int he manufactured controversy, and is covered in the titular article. Incidentally, the main article for that category was renamed months ago and no longer contains controversy in the title. Guy (Help!) 23:16, 30 July 2019 (UTC)

@JzG: Yeah, ideally this category should never exist, because this controversy is so absurd. Ok, your edit summary didn't make it clear that you intend to empty the category. Feel free to go ahead. I'm not looking to empty it so much as reorganise the articles into a more sensible hierarchy. A lot of them were classified on the premise that the manufactured controversy over vaccines was the dominant theme, rather than, as it is, a side issue which is only tangentially connected to reality. Most of that was achieved back in February. There's more to do, including splitting a couple of articles, but we do now distinguish between medical issues like insufficient refrigeration and made-up controversies like the MMR-autism myth. Google Domains

For your information unlike other Google Services such as Blogger, Google Domains, Google Photos etc... Google Domains is actually a corporation a wholly owned subsidiary of Alphabet Inc. not a service this is per Google Domain's agreement with ICANN and Alphabet Inc. SEC files. Also please don't remove countries like Italy from the Areas Served, the reference that is included in that list clearly shows what countries Google Domains is available and Italy is one of them. Removal of pricing information

I was recently alerted to your edit removing the pricing decision at MOS:MED. While I have now fully protected the page without that section (as in my discretion the stable version), its removal runs afoul of the behavior expectations which received broad community support - including from you - at ANI. Please work with your fellow editors to move forward on this, as I have seen you doing in drafting RfC statments. Also, we are facing a situation when MOS explicitly recommends to add pricing (even if against consensus) and an ANI thread explicitly prohibits it. This might be less than comfortable for those who edit in medical area, don't check ANI and might uknowilngly run afoul of the embargo. Hello. I try to understand why you reverted my short addition to the scihub page. Your reason was "does not belong here". Could you explain why? Scihub has the particularity to have no specific url (it is constantly changing and a particular url in one country can be down in another): I added a link toward a webpage that gather those urls and show you which one is up or down for your location. I do see that there's a Wikisource reference which does have the verses in Sanskrit. But lots of people visiting the page may not know that. So, the correct thing to do would be to have the information on the Wiki page itself, NOT as a separate Wiki Source. I don't have any issues with using one verse over the other, just if we can have the verse on the page itself, it would be great.

My edit pertained only to the line in last introductory paragraph which said that the outfit has links with ISI. Why are you repeatedly reverting that. But the link with ISI is not a widely believed statement it has been supported by my citations. Thus, before reverting you should have talked about it in the talk page. Hi, the whole "trained in Pakistan" is also a stretch, and is basically a projection of the official Indian narrative that Kashmiris cross over to PAK only to "receive training" (naturally, from the ISI which is solely responsible for all the calamities that meet India). Which in some instances may certainly be true, but it is also false in many others (people cross over to bring money, or to assist others in crossing in either direction, or to attend a meeting, or even in case of civilians to meet friends or relatives). I don't know why is it so hard for you to understand ? I have not written some alien language have i ? I already said again and again that i am ready to accept that we should refrain from writing about a person being trained by the ISI or anything related to it. You have discredited the sources solely on the basis of the arguement that they do not talk about activities relating to people when it's common sense that supporting something involves various facets to it. It's really astonishing that you straightaway reverted the whole edit when I have said repeatedly that it is nowhere related to a PERSON LIVING OR DEAD. Please talk about the support provided to the outfit which is clearly mentioned in my citations(if u have read and inferred them carefully) refrain from circling back to the ' training people' arguement to which I have no objection. You have not even mentioned the part where you reverted the edit changing Azad Kashmir to Pak Administered Kashmir. Why is that a problem. Gans

I understand that in the context of history articles that surnames are used, when there is no ambiguity as to the person concerned. However, in this article there is reference to David Gans to whom Joachim may well be related. Therefore the surname alone is ambiguous. My edit was done to remove this ambiguity. My hands are tied because Snooganssnoogans tag-teamed with admin Neutrality to have my user account banned (I was falsely accused of being a sockpuppet). The two are working together.

A third opinion and help with a user who continually reverts

Hi there, I saw you issued a warning to talk about reverting and wanted to ask for some help. I did not know this user before, but after looking at it's talk page I could see constant revert wars that seem politically motivated. I wonder if you had time could you please be a third opinion on the Barack Obama talk wiki page in regards to a dispute about Obama's controversial immigration policy? I believe this users revert was politically motivated and one not in favour of noting Obama's legitimate controversy (that every president has- so it shouldn't be a republicans vs dems situation here). The religion parameter has a lot of discussion going on so for now please do not edit any of that unless you have stable proof and if you do so, please do not present your argument by cherry picking certain lines of his poetry and putting them out of context just for the sake and commitment of you proving him non-Muslim. Assigning religion on Bulleh Shah page

Hello Sir! I can see that you have been re-adding religion of Baba Bulleh back to Islam again and again. I find it highly objectional to assign a religion to such a great personality like Baba Bulleh Shah. Giving a religion to a Sufi saint is a disrespect in itself. Here are my reasons:

1. Bulleh Shah did not believe in Allah or God:

5. Bulleh Shah denounced religion in his famous kafi below. Bulleh Shah always preached about humanity regardless of religion so Bulleh Shah does not belong to any religion.

Please note that I respect your views and beliefs in high regards. Howver, unless you have concrete sources to back up your claim, I suggest refrain from assigning any religion. It doesn't matter what other people think and if there is dargah in Kasur, Bulleh Shah in his Kafis did not say anywhere that he is a muslim or believe in Islam.

Some other points to note:

Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made; Do not edit war even if you believe you are right. If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. I do understand that very well, however many available sources say that he was a Muslim and we have to go by the sources. If you think the religion parameter should be removed, feel free to start an RfC on the Talk page and obtain a consensus. Again it doesn't matter what you think and what other people think. You did not provide any proof from Bulleh Shah himself that he cared about mazhab and particularly Islam. This is sheep mentality that if everyone is gonna jump in front of the car so am I. It doesn't matter what is sensitive in a country, this is Wikipedia and we go by the truth. Stop forcing your beliefs on other and provide concrete facts to back it up. If I take these facts to a 10 year old, he will say Bulleh Shah was an Atheist. Now do you want me to start writing "Atheist" as his religion? All I am saying is that do no write anything in the religion because you do not have any concrete proof from the person himself to back it up.
