You have been blocked indefinitely from editing because it appears that you are not here to build an encyclopedia.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: .  Bbb23 (talk) 01:10, 28 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

“Blocked for using own sandbox to practice editing”

Decline reason:

I concur with Bbb23. I would want to see a stronger commitment to contribute, perhaps by knowing some specific, substantive edits you would make. I am declining your request. 331dot (talk) 14:16, 28 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the unblock template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

In the future, please place a copy of the unblock request template(with the "tlx|" removed) outside of the block notice; do not simply overwrite it. Thanks 331dot (talk) 07:15, 28 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

After a long absence from editing(before March 16, your last edit was in 2016 and before that in 2014), you only edited your sandbox and gave no indication of an intention to make contributions to the encyclopedia. What contributions do you intend to make? 331dot (talk) 07:20, 28 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I will continue to update articles that I feel have missing information that I can get good sources for. I’m not on here all the time, but I don’t agree that it warrants blocking my account. Literallystop (talk) 12:33, 28 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  • Bbb23 do you have any additional information or views? Thanks in advance 331dot (talk) 14:06, 28 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • @331dot: 71 edits to the user's sandbox and 5 edits to mainspace many years ago. Why would the user change now? Because they were blocked for using Wikipedia as a playground?--Bbb23 (talk) 14:10, 28 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Did I misuse the sandbox feature in any way? I have not committed any acts of vandalism on any wiki pages, nor am I using my sandbox as a hosting service. My edits do not violate the terms of use as far as I can tell. Please let me know specifically what I did to violate the rules. As far as I can tell, inactivity is not a reason for being banned. Can another admin please review this case?Literallystop (talk) 16:21, 28 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Your wikilawyering comments confirm that you should remain blocked and find another website for your entertainment.--Bbb23 (talk) 15:25, 28 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

How can we resolve this? I would like to continue editing my sandbox and other pages. I am primarily interested in geography and climatological data, that is why I have been practising with the weatherbox feature. What rules did I break, please be specific if possible. Once I know, I will not break them again.Literallystop (talk) 17:02, 28 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

UTRS 51459[edit]

UTRS appeal #51459 is declined. Will lay on a second chance template.

This unblock request has been declined. However, we are willing to give you another chance provided that you can earn back the trust of the Wikipedia community. To be unblocked you need to demonstrate that you are willing and able to contribute positively to Wikipedia. You can do this by:

  • Familiarizing yourself with our basic rules.
  • Read our guide to improving articles.
  • Pick any pre-existing article you wish to improve.
  • If you have trouble choosing an article to improve, see this index of articles needing improvement for ideas. Once you have decided on the article you will propose improvements to:
    1. Click the Edit tab at the top of that article;
    2. Copy the portion of the prose from that article that you will be proposing changes to. However:
      • do not copy the "infobox" from the start of the article (i.e., markup like this: ...);
      • do not copy any image placement code (i.e., markup like this: );
      • do not copy the page's categories from the bottom of the page (i.e., markup like this: );
      • do not copy the stub tag (if there) from the bottom of the page (i.e., markup like this: Foo stub);
    3. Click edit at your talk page, and paste at the bottom under a new section header (like this: == Article title ==) the copied content but do not save yet;
    4. Place your cursor in the edit summary box and paste there an edit summary in the following form which specifies the name of the article you copied from and links to it (this is required for mandatory copyright attribution): "Copied content from exact Name of Article; see that article's history for attribution."
    5. You can now save the page. However, if your edits will include citations to reliable sources (which they should), add the following template to the end of your prose: reflist-talk. Once you have added the template, click Publish changes.
  • Now, edit that content. Propose significant and well researched improvements by editing the selected portion of the article. Please note that we are not looking for basic typo corrections, or small unreferenced additions; your edits should be substantial, and reflect relevant policies.
  • When you are done with your work, re-request unblocking and an administrator will review your proposed edits.
    • If we (including the original blocking admin) are convinced that your proposed edits will improve Wikipedia as an encyclopedia, you will be unblocked.

If you need help while working with your proposed edits, you may add "your question here ~~~~" to your talk page. Thank you. --Deepfriedokra (talk) 16:25, 28 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

History[edit]

The parish of Saint-Malo was established in 1863 by Canadiens and was incorporated as a municipality in 1910. The town's name evokes Saint-Malo, France— the hometown in Brittany of Jacques Cartier, the first European explorer to describe and map modern Quebec and to name his discoveries as "Canada".

Request reason:

Followed second chance instructions per Deepfriedokra

Decline reason:

Unless I'm mistaken, the "significant and well researched improvements" you made were this uncited change. That's nowhere near sufficient. Yamla (talk) 14:04, 29 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the unblock template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Incorrect, I added a geography and climate section and weatherbox and cited my reference from environment canada Literallystop (talk) 16:46, 29 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
