Wiki[edit]

I want to wonder how to make a link of a list of a particular subject on Wikipedia. How do I do that? Misshampleton (talk) 18:56, 26 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

August 2020[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page Femme fatale has been reverted.
Your edit here to Femme fatale was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove links in references which are discouraged per our reliable sources guideline. The reference(s) you added or changed (https://www.anothermag.com/fashion-beauty/9320/deciphering-the-wardrobe-of-blue-velvets-femme-fatale) is/are on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia.
If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other, constructive, changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Thanks! --XLinkBot (talk) 02:13, 27 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Okay I’ll never let that happen I didn’t know but now I know and I would like to thank you for informing me and have a wonderful day Misshampleton (talk) 02:15, 27 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

List of Sex Symbols moved to draftspace[edit]

An article you recently created, List of Sex Symbols, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. I dream of horses (Contribs) Please notify me after replying off my talk page. Thank you. 22:34, 30 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Okay I got that thank you Misshampleton (talk) 22:34, 30 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

and before you invest much effort in this I suggest that you read Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of sex symbols (4th nomination). This was deleted jsut two months ago and I doubt hta a new version will be accepted. Meters (talk) 22:51, 30 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on List of Sex Symbols requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion discussion, such as at Articles for deletion. When a page has substantially identical content to that of a page deleted after a discussion, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. I dream of horses (Contribs) Please notify me after replying off my talk page. Thank you. 22:51, 30 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, I'm Doctorhawkes. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Femme fatale, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at the tutorial on citing sources. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Doctorhawkes (talk) 02:39, 6 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I added an example of femme fatale sorry if I forgot to mentioned how I changed it Misshampleton (talk) 02:46, 6 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

It's not that you forgot to mention: When you go to some of these sources, there's no suitable evidence there. Don't want to sound too negative because you're doing some good work. Doctorhawkes (talk) 02:52, 6 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Like what suitable evidence I’m sure it’s suitable not meaning to be offensive or arguable if I am I’m sorry Misshampleton (talk) 02:58, 6 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

":Not at all. Each case just needs to clearly say that the character is a femme fatale directly. Doctorhawkes (talk) 07:38, 6 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Okay. I just started the page it’s my first time making a page on Wikipedia so I’m new at this. I would love for some guidance on how to edit and make a page. Misshampleton (talk) 22:05, 10 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguation link notification for September 13[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited List of fictional antiheroes, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Jack Carter. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 09:46, 13 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

September 2020[edit]

Warning icon Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to add unsourced or poorly sourced content, as you did at Manic Pixie Dream Girl, you may be blocked from editing. Doctorhawkes (talk) 00:17, 21 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give Sharmila Tagore a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into Sharmila Tagore filmography. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge. Thank you. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 03:21, 21 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The above default notice is very polite, but you shouldn't fork an article when the entire thing is under 100 bytes. Especially without discussion. And especially without looking at copying within Wikipedia which teaches us how to do this sort of thing properly, with proper copyright attribution, etc. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 03:26, 21 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I’m sorry I didn’t know. I never made a page before so i didn’t know what to do and being honest here, look at examples of other actors filmography page and see how they did it and so then I could do it. Misshampleton (talk) 03:26, 21 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

September 2020[edit]

Warning icon Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to add unsourced or poorly sourced content, as you did at Femme fatale, you may be blocked from editing. This is the second time I have seen you use a "reference" where the character you name is not even mentioned. Please stop. Doctorhawkes (talk) 11:46, 22 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Reverted again. I just checked that source. Ellen Ripley was listed under "final girl". Nancy Downs wasn't listed atv all. Please stop adding without a source. Doctorhawkes (talk) 21:24, 22 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Stop icon You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you add unsourced material to Wikipedia, as you did at Femme fatale. Doctorhawkes (talk) 21:25, 22 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Stop icon You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you add unsourced material to Wikipedia, as you did at Femme fatale. Again, you've tried to sneak in 2 that aren't sourced. It's silly. Doctorhawkes (talk) 21:37, 23 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I see that you have been adding a lot of entries recently. Could you also remove all the unsourced entries while you're at it? –LaundryPizza03 (d) 05:52, 29 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Unsourced entries like what? I made sure I sourced them. Misshampleton (talk) 15:25, 29 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

But okay. Misshampleton (talk) 15:26, 29 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I noticed that you recently created a new page, List of Ryan Gosling Filmography, Television, and Discography. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page – Ryan Gosling. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will continue helping to improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at Ryan Gosling. If you have new information to add, you might want to discuss it at the article's talk page.

If you think the article you created should remain separate, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. Praxidicae (talk) 11:34, 25 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

Wikipedia says that my account is blocked in according to sock puppetry by being linked to Farah.moonfairy. I have swore I dont know who that user is nor do I even care except the fact that somehow that my account is linked to it matters. I just want to know why I am linked to it and how to not be anymore so I can not be blocked. I dont know how sockpuppetry works but please tell me and I hope someone reads my message as soon as they can.

Decline reason:

This does not account for the coincidences noted in Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Farah.moonfairy. Yamla (talk) 20:25, 25 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

AmandaNP I know I have been declined and all but I have never used Farah.moonfairy nor I dont know how I am associated with this account. This is preposterous. look through my wiki id and see if it is me or not. I have never been disruptive on wikipedia nor have I ever been a bothersome as well.

Decline reason:

We have looked, and there are too many coincidences here to ignore. If you have not used other accounts, you will need to address why the available evidence indicates otherwise. I am declining your request. 331dot (talk) 08:20, 26 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
