Look, I was just informing you that I tagged a page you made for deletion. I can't write a personal message to every creator of pages I tag for deletion; I'd never be able to keep up with the speed new pages are created at. Speedy

Placing a speedy tag on Desmond Hawkins seems altogether absurd to me, and I have declined it. Please read WP:CSD. Any assertion of importance is enough. The article asserts he wrote a Times Book of he week!--and a great deal else. And read WP:N--it seems also very probable that it would pass AfD. You are welcome to take it there of course, but I'd advise against it. DGG (talk) 22:25, 12 September 2007 (UTC)

I also notice from your talk page you have previously deleted such pages as David Audretsch, the Director of an division of the Max Planck Society (and many other accomplishments), and that you answer all objections by telling the aggrieved authors to place hangon tags.
Now, I am somewhat of an inclusionist, and I would not think of even mentioning this here if they had been any sort of borderline case, or a matter where my judgment is challenged at Afd, but they are not. They are not even borderline for notability. But the standard for speedy-nn is not notability, but just the assertion of notability or importance. Obviously assertions of being the smartest kid in one's high school, dont count as good faith assertions, & I too speedy delete them without the least hesitation, but assertions of being a professor at a major university or writing a well-reviewed book are credible assertions. If you don't think such people notable, as is certainly your right, then the thing to do is to use WP:PROD or WP:AFD. DGG (talk) 22:42, 12 September 2007 (UTC)

I was tagging a large number of pages for deletion; Special:Newpages was being flooded, and I was trying to keep up with the backlog. I apologize for any mistakes I made in tagging pages, and I'll make sure to read through all pages more carefully in the future. Also, on reexamination of the pages you mentioned, I was indeed incorrect in tagging all 3 of this pages. I would like to note, however, that if you look through my contributions lately, you'll find that almost all pages I tagged, with few exceptions, were deleted. Managing the Newpage patrol almost completely on my own, as I've sometimes done recently, is no easy task, and some mistakes are inevitable. Of course, if I was an admin and actually deleting pages rather than just tagging them, I'd exercise more caution, but since I'm simply tagging the pages for deletion, I prefer to briefly check each newly created article rather than examining each in detail. NPW can be a powerful tool, and and cause significant damage, and while I (and, I'd hazard to say, "we") trust that you know the policies, I do see quite a few recent A7 mishaps. You want to be treated serious, you bnetter start behaving that way. There is a real world out there, you know. And real people make part of it. I tagged the articles you created for one reason and only one: according to Wikipedia policy, all articles must establish notability. Your articles did not establish notability, and were therefore deleted. If Yanpagh is indeed your real name, as you claim it is, then those two articles, Yan Pagh and Yanism, seem to have been autobiographies that made no claim of notability. According to the speedy deletion policy, such non-notable biographies may be tagged with {{db-bio}} and then deleted by an administrator if no assertion of notability is made. See also Wikipedia:Autobiography#Creating an article about yourself.
As for the rest of your accusations: I don't see why my choice to use a pseudonym or my interest in fantasy games is at all relevant to tagging the articles you created for deletion. And as far as I can remember, I never said "gimme a break Yan Pagh." As I recall, you were the only one who used that phrase. Also, I entirely believe you when you say that you "meant the articles in the best way possible." One of Wikipedia's core policies is to assume good faith; however, even articles created in good faith may be deleted if they do not establish notability.
Looking at some of your comments, I encourage you to read Wikipedia's policies on civility and no personal attacks.

Grand Rapids Medical Corridor

I just want to give you a quick thanks for helping me out with the links. Its a lot of stuff there and just one editor for all of the work that needs to be done is a burden. So thank you for taking a few moments and doing what you did. I plan on finishing a few items on it later on tommorrow or this week. BTW how do you do citations. I cant seem to get the jest of it. All of the info I put into the article comes from the links on the bottom of the page. No problem. Thanks for making the article! I live in Michigan, and we really needed an article on it. The basic idea of doing references is typing <ref>Put your reference here.</ref> to make a citation. You may wish to use the {{cite web}} template for the citation. Whatever you place in the ref tags will appear at any <references /> tag on the page. (I'll make one of those for that page.) For more information, see Wikipedia:Footnotes. Very nice job on the article. I'll see if I can change some of those references to in-text footnotes so we can get rid of that tag at the top. To get the images, you may end up having to use fair use if there's no free images available; I'm no expert on Wikipedia's image policies, though, so I'm really not sure. All the references are now in proper inline citation format. If you find any more useful references, just use the same format to put them in the list of references. Using the <ref> is useful because it numbers them automatically, plus you can see where each individual statement is cited rather than looking through all the citations for it. Instride

Hey Pyrospirit,

GEICO, Progressive, Esurance and many other companies have wiki pages up. I modeled instride after their pages and I'd like for it to stick. I think it's a significant and it's an interesting page.

Let me know what you suggest. I feel like it's easy to tag a page for deletion but it takes a real effort as a writer/editor to offer insight on how to make the page better so it stays up. I think this page doesn't warrant deletion.

Ho Baron

I appreciate your quick concern to new articles. I would also like to note that it should have taken longer than 59 seconds to read the entire article. As a Wiki veteran myself, I understand that many articles incorporated into the encyclopedia, really have no place. However, mind you that Ho Baron is a renowned artist within the South West United States. His works have toured various Southwestern venues. Had you taken a moment to research the subject of this article, I am sure that the this article would never have been tagged with speedy deletion. Please take more concern in what you wish to tag. Thanks for that. When I last I removed all the warnings on "my" talk page, another more experienced user told me that it was "not good etiquette" and pasted them all back. Also, I must admit, the meaning of "notable" in the Wiki World Order seems difficult. It looks like a very subjective term being forced to wear the clothes of consensus for the sake of spurious objectivity. If I find something notable - I note it, possibly in public for the benefit of others. Are we to have a Grand Committee of Notabilty? Or does everything in WP work itself out in an endless democratic cycle of editing and re-editing? Martinevans123 19:17, 4 November 2007 (UTC)

Generally speaking, removing warnings from your talk page with no explanation is considered bad etiquette. However, you can archive your talk page to remove them from obvious visibility. In the case of that one speedy warning, though, the warning was really meaningless since the article was improved.
On the issue of notability, something is considered notable on Wikipedia if it has received significant coverage in reliable secondary sources that are independent of the subject. So, not just anything is notable, and articles that make no claim of notability and are clearly not notable can be deleted under the speedy deletion criteria. This isn't just based on the judgment of single editors; there are policies created by consensus that determine these things. In fact, endless cycles of editing and re-editing the same thing back and forth are known as edit wars and are actively discouraged. Pyrospirit (talk · contribs) 22:11, 4 November 2007 (UTC)

Alfred Radley

I am a new user and just created a page on Alfred Radley which Pyrospirit seems to have placed into dispute NPOV. I am puzzled as there is nothing controversial (apologies for not adding citations but I could not work out how to do it). Alfred Radley is mentioned in at least one other entry in Wikipedia and is an important figure in creating the fashions of the late 20th century. What is this all about

I tagged the page for speedy deletion because it contained little or no context about the subject (criterion A1). The article was then deleted by Maxim (talk · contribs) for that reason. My article, which is about a Japanese movie named Mahjong Horoki has been instantly deleted a second time by these two clowns. Apparently, they just became Wikipedia administrators and have been going around randomly deleting all kinds of stuff. This is NOT "standard proceedure". Did you read what I said? It contained little or no context, and was deleted under speedy deletion criterion A1. The article was deleted not randomly, but for a reason specifically following a policy established and supported by consensus of Wikipedia's editors. And the administrator who deleted it gained his administrator status as a result of community consensus as well, granted as a result of his numerous beneficial contributions to Wikipedia. I recommend you look into the reasons why the article you created was deleted before making accusations like that. If you still have issues with the deletion after you've done this, you can bring it to deletion review or ask the administrator who deleted it.
