Reverting old filespace vandalism

Hi Radiant, I noticed your reversions of vandalism in filespace by people removing message like here and wanted to say to look at whether that's putting the image into a old redlinked category, which has long passed. Nobody is paying attention to Category:Orphaned non-free use Wikipedia files as of 24 September 2008, so if you could either relist with a new date and give it a CSD notice (I4 probably), that would keep them from getting lost. Thanks. -- Ricky81682 (talk) 19:33, 18 May 2009 (UTC)

NowCommons: File:JamiroquaiLogo.png

File:JamiroquaiLogo.png is now available on Wikimedia Commons as Commons:File:JamiroquaiLogo.png. This is a repository of free media that can be used on all Wikimedia wikis. The image will be deleted from Wikipedia, but this doesn't mean it can't be used anymore. You can embed an image uploaded to Commons like you would an image uploaded to Wikipedia, in this case: [[File:JamiroquaiLogo.png]]. Note that this is an automated message to inform you about the move. This bot did not copy the image itself. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 01:37, 31 May 2009 (UTC)

proposed deletion for "Defence of the Ancients under Linux"

Hi.

In like 5 minutes after posting the proof of my article, the system notified me it's to be struck down in like a week. I'm not particularly amused, but since rules are rules, I'd like you to help me improve the article to hold up to required standards.

My original intent was simply to mark out the game is available for the Linux platform as well, on the original [Defence of the Ancients] page, in the lightbox in the top right. My original account from yeaaaars back ("ike") is gone / suspended / no more / whatever, so I used a more recent account, with which I was unable to make the said edit as it's not auto-confirmed yet. I thus opted for a new page explaining it is possible to run the game under Linux.

If you want, I can try to get the article posted onto the somewhat- official dota-alstars.com wiki, and someone (you) post a link to it in the original article, and modify the lightbox. That works for me, and my article can be deleted (or marked as merged).

Improving the article would depend largely on your instructions. Linux is still a somewhat hacker-minded OS (and rightly so), so technical information is the normal standard of exchange between users. If you perceive this too howto-ish, you may need to consider a lot of technical articles for the same reason. But as said, please give an example of how to rewrite, and I'll find time to do it.

Thank you. -i —Preceding unsigned comment added by Kozuscek (talkcontribs) 20:46, 5 June 2009 (UTC)

  • Sorry for my haste in marking the article - proposing deletion perhaps wasn't the most appropriate action. I don't think the article can be re-worked to fit Wikipedia's guidelines, but I do believe that the information you posted is very valuable. I'd defininitely add a link to the main article at Defense of the Ancients to your Linux guide if it were posted on gaming wiki. I already update the infobox on the main article to add that the game works on Linux. Also, on your Linux version article, I've removed the "proposed deletion" tag and instead marked it as {{copy to gaming wiki}}. I think this is a better solution than putting more work into the article here, when someone else is likely to bring it up for deletion again.

Image Tagging

G'day, What's with the tagging on the images I took? Aaroncrick(Tassie Boy talk) 07:35, 14 June 2009 (UTC)

Deleted my image

Dude, you deleted my image that I took myself and uploaded, without giving me a chance to tag it.

Please undelete it, and I will add a copyright tag.

Orphaned non-free image (File:Eihalogo.svg)

⚠

Thanks for uploading File:Eihalogo.svg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. FileBot (talk) 20:42, 21 August 2009 (UTC)

Tagging gif files as "Should be jpeg"

I've been converting a number of PNG files to JPEG and have found a GIF that you tagged to convert ([1]). Problem is, it has transparency which JPEG does not support and so can't sensibly be converted. Thought you might not know this. I've deleted the tag. --Phil Holmes (talk) 16:48, 30 October 2009 (UTC)

I dont know what I was thinking when I tagged that... thanks for letting me know! Radiant chains (talk) 21:15, 30 October 2009 (UTC)

Photo from Google Picasa F.morett (talk) 22:23, 6 January 2010 (UTC)

Hi there Radiant, I have uploaded to my files a photo of the nobel laureated economist James M Buchanan. There is hardly any photo of him available. I found this one in Google Picasa from a user called Olga. You think it would be okay to use this photo for Buchanan's article here in wikiepedia? Thanks in advance for your help!
