Orphaned non-free media (File:LAEXPRESSLOGO.gif)

Thanks for uploading File:LAEXPRESSLOGO.gif. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Werieth (talk) 19:26, 5 September 2013 (UTC)

File source problem with File:Nopicture.png

Thank you for uploading File:Nopicture.png. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. Please add this information by editing the image description page.

If the necessary information is not added within the next days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please refer to the image use policy to learn what images you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. Please also check any other files you have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Stefan2 (talk) 17:01, 31 October 2014 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for January 16

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Kansai Collegiate American Football League, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Senshi. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on The Onyx Tavern requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about web content, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. reddogsix (talk) 04:06, 25 September 2015 (UTC)

Information icon A tag has been placed on Louisville–West Virginia rivalry requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia, because it appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion process. If you can indicate how it is different from the previously posted material, contest the deletion by clicking on the button that looks like this: which appears inside of the speedy deletion ({{db-...}}) tag (if no such tag exists, the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate). Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's discussion directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Administrators will consider your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. If you believe the original discussion was unjustified, please contact the administrator who deleted the page or use deletion review instead of recreating the page. Thank you. License tagging for File:Ritsumeikanpanthers.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:Ritsumeikanpanthers.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information.

To add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia. Hi, Rick lay95. You need to have valid non-free-use rationales on the image description pages of non-free images for each use. This is not a matter of preference, it's an absolute requirement by the image use policy (WP:NFCC#10). See Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline. I have removed the images again. Do not restore them until valid non-free-use rationales are written on the image description pages. Finnusertop (talk | guestbook | contribs) 10:39, 19 October 2015 (UTC)

Information icon Please do not write or add to an article about yourself, as you apparently did at Rickey Layman. Creating an autobiography is strongly discouraged – see our guideline on writing autobiographies. If you create such an article, it may be deleted. If what you have done in life is genuinely notable and can be verified according to our policy for articles about living people, someone else will probably create an article about you sooner or later (see Wikipedians with articles). If you wish to add to an existing article about yourself, please propose the changes on its talk page. Please understand that this is an encyclopedia and not a personal web space or social networking site. If your article has already been deleted, please see: Why was my page deleted?, and if you feel the deletion was an error, please discuss it with the deleting administrator. Thank you. On the talk page you compared this article to two others. The usual answer to that is WP:Other stuff exists, but in both those cases there are many independent references, helping to meet Wikipedia's inclusion criterion known as Wikipedia:Notability, which looks for references showing "significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject", see also Wikipedia:Notability (summary) and WP:ENTERTAINER.
In any case, people are strongly discouraged from writing about themselves, for reasons explained at WP:Autobiography.
Wikipedia user pages are not like those at social-networking sites. Their use is explained at WP:NOTWEBHOST:

"Wikipedians have their own user pages, but they should be used primarily to present information relevant to working on the encyclopedia. Limited biographical information is allowed, but user pages should not function as personal webpages or be repositories for large amounts of material that is irrelevant to collaborating on Wikipedia. If you are looking to make a personal webpage or blog or to post your résumé, please make use of one of the many free providers on the Internet or any hosting included with your Internet account."

User page

With this edit you added {{db-person}} to your user page. This caused the page to move into CAT:CSD. When I saw it there, I realised what you meant and did this careful edit. You simply reverted my edit which put the page back into CAT:CSD so I decided to take the db tag, which you had applied, at face value and deleted the page.

I have now restored but will you please observe the following rules in future: you user page should be kept for notes about you as a Wikipedian and written in the first person; since your bio has been deemed unsuitable for mainspace, it cannot be allowed in user space either; article drafts should be put in user sub pages, ie. user:Rick lay95/sandbox, etc. but they must not put the page into mainspace categories such as category:NFL player with currentposition parameter - hence my disabling of the templates. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 13:09, 20 October 2015 (UTC)

You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. Replaceable fair use File:Japanfootballmap.gif

Thanks for uploading File:Japanfootballmap.gif. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and add the text {{di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}} below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing <your reason> with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable.
  2. On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Stefan2 (talk) 21:01, 9 April 2016 (UTC)

Non-free rationale for File:Japanfootballmap.gif

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Japanfootballmap.gif. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Stefan2 (talk) 21:02, 9 April 2016 (UTC)

I'm really confused about why you refuse to learn Japanese. How do you inspire Japan's youth to learn your native language if you refuse to learn theirs? = Mdriver1981 (talk) 07:34, 12 March 2016 (UTC)

  • I don't "refuse" to learn Japanese, it is just difficult for me. I'm still learning and I know some, but I never said I'm not going to learn it.
    • I was not trying to insult, I'm just curious how you teach English to someone by only speaking English. The people who are teaching you Japanese, do they teach it to you by only speaking Japanese? - Mdriver1981 (talk) 04:04, 6 May 2016 (UTC)
      • The way the program works is that every class has two teachers. You have the ALT (Assistant Language Teacher) who may or may not speak Japanese. Then you have the head teacher, who is Japanese, and speaks English. Typically they want the head teacher to be fluent in English, but depending on the location and school, you don't always get that. I work at an Elementary school where on of the English teachers can barley speak English. So in a typical day, the head teacher will communicate to the students in Japanese their instructions and lesson, while my job is to pronounce words and correct the students. The teachers are required to speak English 75% of the time while in class, but that just doesn't happen. Additionally, any Japanese language lessons you do are on your own and not provided by your employer. The contracting company, the 3rd party between JET and the schools, does offer free online course work, but it is optional. Point is, that you don't need to speak Japanese to do this job. You get some help, but that's about it.

Black Hills Brawl

Hey, just wanted to check in with you on something concerning your edits to Black Hills Brawl. What source are you getting your edits from? It doesn't meld with official sources like this from SDSM&T, such as score differences and two new, completely unaccounted-for games. GreenRunner0 02:27, 6 October 2016 (UTC)

Whoops, my bad; I just saw your ref you put in. Still, something's not quite right with these scores. I'll do some more digging.
