File source and copyright licensing problem with File:KapeatBalita1991TitleCard.jpg[edit]

File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:KapeatBalita1991TitleCard.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, we also need to know the terms of the license that the copyright holder has published the file under, usually done by adding a licensing tag. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Unsourced and untagged files may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the file will be deleted 48 hours after 07:56, 30 June 2010 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Leo 07:56, 30 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for File:EyeToEye1989.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:EyeToEye1989.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Eeekster (talk) 03:19, 4 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

July 2010[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. The recent edit that you made to the page 2010–2011 United States network television schedule (weekday) has been reverted, as it appears to be unconstructive. Please use the sandbox for testing any edits; if you believe the edit was constructive, please ensure that you provide an informative edit summary. You may also wish to read the introduction to editing for further information. Thank you. SeaphotoTalk 04:12, 29 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Note The editor's actions were not actually vandalism, although the confusion is understandable. The IP that was reverted is a repeat vandal who (through a series of rotating IPs) regularly adds false information, typically regarding soap operas and 2020. --Ckatzchatspy 08:07, 29 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I agree, that edit was not vandalism, this warning should be ignored. SeaphotoTalk 14:34, 29 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not add or change content without citing verifiable and reliable sources, as you did to Carmina Villaroel. Before making any potentially controversial edits, it is recommended that you discuss them first on the article's talk page. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. Please do not add personal information about living people such as their birthdates, without providing a source. Active Banana (talk) 05:17, 29 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi! It seems you recently created an unreferenced biography of a living person: Matt Flores. The community has decided that all new biographies of living persons must contain a reliable source that supports at least one statement made about the person in the article as per our verifiability policy. Please add references as soon as possible. Thanks! --LaraBot (talk) 00:10, 4 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The article Matt Flores has been proposed for deletion because under Wikipedia policy, all biographies of living persons created after March 18, 2010, must have at least one source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't take offense. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Wikipedia:Referencing for beginners or ask at Wikipedia:Help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within ten days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. NW (Talk) 00:20, 5 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The article Matt Flores has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Not notable per WP:ENTERTAINER

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. NW (Talk) 00:20, 5 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

File source problem with File:Movie Magazine.jpg[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Movie Magazine.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. Please add this information by editing the image description page.

If the necessary information is not added within the next days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please refer to the image use policy to learn what images you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. Please also check any other files you have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. File copyright problem with File:Movie Magazine.jpg[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Movie Magazine.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright and licensing status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can verify that it has an acceptable license status and a verifiable source. Please add this information by editing the image description page. You may refer to the image use policy to learn what files you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. The page on copyright tags may help you to find the correct tag to use for your file. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please also check any other files you may have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. —James (TalkContribs) • 10:38am 00:38, 15 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Edit summaries[edit]

Hi there. When editing an article on Wikipedia there is a small field labeled "Edit summary" under the main edit-box. It looks like this:

Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)

The text written here will appear on the Recent changes page, in the page revision history, on the diff page, and in the watchlists of users who are watching that article. See m:Help:Edit summary for full information on this feature.

Filling in the edit summary field greatly helps your fellow contributors in understanding what you changed, so please always fill in the edit summary field. If you are adding a section, please do not just keep the previous section's header in the Edit summary field – please fill in your new section's name instead. Wikipedia and copyright[edit]

Control copyright icon Hello Tonyboy bautista, and welcome to Wikipedia. Your addition to List of Nicky, Ricky, Dicky & Dawn episodes has had to be removed, as it appears to have added copyrighted material without permission from the copyright holder. While we appreciate your contributing to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from your sources to avoid copyright or plagiarism issues here.

  • You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and a cited source. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
  • Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. (There is a college-level introduction to paraphrase, with examples, hosted by the Online Writing Lab of Purdue.) Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
  • Our primary policy on using copyrighted content is Wikipedia:Copyrights. You may also want to review Wikipedia:Copy-paste.
  • If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. However, there are steps that must be taken to verify that license before you do. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
  • In very rare cases (that is, for sources that are public domain or compatibly licensed), it may be possible to include greater portions of a source text. However, please seek help at the help desk before adding such content to the article. 99.9% of sources may not be added in this way, so it is necessary to seek confirmation first. If you do confirm that a source is public domain or compatibly licensed, you will still need to provide full attribution; see Wikipedia:Plagiarism for the steps you need to follow.
  • Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you can, but please follow the steps in Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia.

It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Geraldo Perez (talk) 13:52, 8 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on PMPC Star Award for Best Public Affairs Program requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Proposed deletion of List of Ismol Family guest stars[edit]

The article List of Ismol Family guest stars has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

I believe this page is not necessary since the main article Ismol Family have enough space to list down its guest cast. I am currently adding information to the guest list and I am expanding the article at the moment so removing the list and putting it on a separate page will make the main article too short and becomes a stub-article.

Other shows/sitcoms which had their own guest cast on its main page are: Home Sweetie Home, Toda Max, Pepito ManalotoMBdemigod (talk) 23:56, 13 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Excellence In Broadcasting Lifetime Achievement Award requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organized event (tour, function, meeting, party, etc.), but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia.

If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. List of Ang Probinsyano gyest stars[edit]

Good day Tonyboy bautista! I'd like to ask why my edits to List of Ang Probinsyano guest stars were reverted? The re-ordering of the cast that I did was based on their ACTUAL order of appearance in the series. For example, before the character of Julio Diaz, Julian Valerio, is the very first guest star of the series, having served as the villain for the pilot episode and then a recurring guest cast thereafter. Also, I'd like to know why the "[[]]]" was removed from the actors' names. The O have placed the same in their names in order to link the actors to their respective Wikipedia pages, given that most of the actors listed there have their Wikipedia pages linked to them, the same is done in order to make the format more uniform. I also wonder why some of the references I placed, which would confirm the veracity of the list, were removed as well. I'd like to discuss the matter because I want to help make the page as accurate possible without disrupting it. Thanks :) Gardo Versace (talk) 04:50, 12 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Scott Burley, QueerEcofeminist, and Whispering:, the page is back to article space again. I had tried to get the page salted yesterday, but I failed to do it right. I am about to run out of good faith for Tonyboy bautista here. They have been around for 10 years now, it's hard to argue that they may not know exactly what they are doing. I think it qualifies as 3RR in intent if not technicality. Let's run out of warnings if we haven't yet, and do something about this unacceptable article on mainspace, please. I'll move the article back one last time and hope we can come to a resolution here.Usedtobecool ✉️  13:00, 8 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Usedtobecool: I salted the page yesterday, but didn't realize Tonyboy bautista was extended confirmed. We could go to full protection, but I'm more concerned about their general competence and lack of communication. Intentional or not, an editor with this much experience should know better.
@Tonyboy bautista: You are blocked because you kept moving Draft:T.O.D.A.S.: Television's Outrageously Delightful All-Star Show out of draft space, even after you were asked to stop. You need to add reliable sources to the draft before it can be moved. You also need to talk to other editors to resolve disputes. If you move the draft again without adding sources, you may be blocked indefinitely. -- Scott Burley (talk) 23:34, 8 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Scott Burley, I don't think they ever knew how to reply to messages on their talkpage, as I don't see any message addressed to them ever got a reply from them.
