Cookies & Milk is a upcoming animated series, based on the debut novel of blues musician Shawn Amos, with Laurence Fishburne as an executive producer.[1] The series will premiere on an unnamed Disney Branded Television platform.[2]

Plot[edit]

Tells the story of a black boy named Ellis Johnson who helps his possibly magical, and optimistic, father, open a cookie shop in Hollywood, California in the 1970s.[3][1]

Production[edit]

In May 2022, Disney Branded Television announced the series development, with Laurence Fishburne and Helen Sugland, of Cinema Gypsy Productions, as executive producers. Jesse Murphy and James Sears Bryant of Jesse James Films, and Shawn Amos will also be executive producers.[2] Brian Egeston is a co-executive producer and story editor.[3] Disney Television Animation will be producing the series.[2][4]

The animated series is based on the debut semi-autobiographical middle grade novel of Shawn Amos of the same name, which focuses on his own life experience as the son of Wallace “Wally” Amos, Jr..[5][6] It is also set to join other Disney products based on books, like the Superfudge animated feature film and live-action Paola Santiago and the River of Tears series.[7] A specific release date has not yet been announced.
