Islamaphobia[edit]

There is mention in the 'reception' section of criticisms of islamophobia. However, the article cited (https://www.standard.co.uk/showbiz/celebrity-news/bodyguard-actress-anjli-mohindra-admits-playing-ruthless-jihadi-nadia-was-empowering-a3943691.html) does not mention this. Either there should be another article cited which actually supports the claim or I think that claim should be removed. SMcM (talk) 17:25, 24 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Viewing figures for the last episode[edit]

This article says that ten million people watched the final episode of Bodyguard. This may be an underestimate - on the news on September 24 2018, it was said that it was eleven million, and then said it was ten point four million. Vorbee (talk) 17:31, 24 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Plothole[edit]

And how did Luke Aikens know who was responsible for the 1 October bomb and manage to contact her to buy a duplicate suicide vest? One can note things on the talk page (whether or not for the use of collectors of such things - or the writers of Series 2). There is a difference between 'providing too much detail' and 'enough fuzzy detail to satisfy the viewer.' AL Pluribelle (talk) 15:14, 4 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Well, I guess you could call it a plothole, or if you wanna come up with a satisfying answer, make the assumption that there are more members of the terror cell still at large. Nadia could have built a lot of bombs, and her and her terror cell maybe got supplies from Luke Aiken's organisation (the show says he's organised crime but not what he is suspected of actually doing, so open to interpretation here), and that's how that connection came. Maybe Nadia's cell couldn't pay for all the supplies and so they gave some bombs to Aikens, or maybe they sold some bombs to him for extra cash. So, maybe Nadia just made the bombs, and other members of her terror cell made the decisions. Maybe she bribed a prison guard to keep in touch. For such a complex plot, there are few if any plotholes. I wondered a) why Nadia was going to blow herself up, when she was the bomb maker; not a good use of resources; and b) why didn't she go through with it? She was apparently about to; she stepped out of the toilet to be confronted by Budd. Did she actually lose her nerve? Or just decide it wasn't worth it since she couldn't get to the crowded passenger car? I don't know if those qualify as "plotholes" or not; it's fun to talk about them, but why would we need to put that in the Wikipedia article? The series is very gripping and entertaining, and these arguably minor plot issues aren't obvious when you're watching it; you have to be thinking about it later. So even if there are plot issues, or maybe some particular scene or subplot that you don't think works, or an actor you don't think did a good job, so what? Also, a blank shot close to the head in that way kills or severely injures. See John Erik Hexum Tucker Thayer, others. Entertainment media keep broadcasting the idea that a blank is harmless. It is not. Even without wadding, the flame from the shell would have done much much more damage, and might well have killed the character.Hypercallipygian (talk) 19:40, 5 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Ratings Issue[edit]

What's with the varying ratings? Some figures are 28-day data, some figures are 7 day data, some figures are 7 day data with the four figure dashboard...A decision needs to be made to show the correct consistent ratings across the article - otherwise there is no point in having the ratings. – As is generally recognized, under WP:NCTV it is more WP:RECOGNIZABLE to disambiguate two TV shows with the same title from different nations with "by country" disambiguation, rather than with "by year" disambiguation. This case is no exception, and disambiguating "by country" here – Bodyguard (UK TV series) vs. Bodyguard (South Korean TV series) – will better distinguish these two articles. Why not "2018 UK TV Series"? That would be the most convenient thing for the user trying to find it. Also, sometimes there are two productions with the same title from the same country, e.g. Cape Fear; and I guess it could happen, probably has happened though I don't have an example offhand, that two productions with the same title come out in the same year. Bodyguard (2018 TV series) will still exist as a redirect, so anyone searching "by year" will still find it that way. Your proposal is "double disambiguation" which is unnecessary disambiguation in this case. As I said in the proposal, simple "by country" disambiguation is usually regarded as more WP:RECOGNIZABLE so we preferentially put articles at titles with "by country" disambiguation. --IJBall (contribs • talk) 18:45, 1 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Main versus recurring[edit]

In regard to who is listed as a main character and who is recurring on the article, it seems inconsistent. Richard Madden is obviously a main character, but Keeley Hawes (spoiler alert: her character is killed off in Episode 3) appears in fewer episodes than some of the people on the 'recurring' list. Sophie Rundle is listed as 'recurring' and appears in all six episodes. I feel like this needs to be made more consistent. George.millman (talk) 20:18, 2 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Bodyguard Season 2/ Rumors/Talks of 2nd series[edit]

Recent interviews/coverage over the golden globes awards (which Richard Madden won for best drama actor ) report that their have been talks between Richard and Jed Mecurio, the creator of bodyguard , that they are considering a season 2 of the show due to the outstanding positive acclaim from audiences and overwhelming positive critical reception from critics .
