The dictionary defines FELON as a person who has been convicted of a felony. Therefore EX-FELON is an impossibility, a nonsense-term. (Perhaps you could argue it in the case of an appeal, or whatever.) This argument about this term ought to be explained if it is going to be introduced, at least by reference.
(This also applies to EX-MURDERER. And a variety of other exes. Ex applies to functional identities which can change and are not retained as an honorific: ex-girlfriend, ex-wife, but not (barring resurrection) ex-widow.)

There have been multiple attempts to add "perennial candidate" to the first sentence. The term is generally pejorative, and should not be added to the lead until it is commonly used by independent reliable sources to describe Crist. Schazjmd(talk) 14:38, 16 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
For the record, it is exceptionally rare for a politician who has won major office to be widely labelled a "perennial candidate"; Harold Stassen is the only example I can think of. I concur that there is no justification for applying that term to Crist. I've known some genuine perennial candidates, and Crist doesn't fall into that category.
