Not Emo (or at least is stretching a bit)[edit]

Well since this caused an uproar, I think I have to explain the editing. Basically, it is a bit of a stretch to call these songs emo by both the old school definition, but even the definition that is widely accepted. It's not a case of it "not being midwest emo" because that's dumb. However, just considering it as part of it because it's sourced, and from a source that isn't even listed under genreally accepted is sketchy. If the source is generally accepted, then that's fine. However, don't immediately claim that it's "perfectly acceptable" if it hasn't gone through the same checks as the other sources. I was fair with the pages that had the emo phrase and left them alone BECAUSE they had wikipedia-backed sources. I'm willing to be fair with those, but anything else is fair game.

My point was to show that not only is it very questionable that many of these Bring Me the Horizon song articles prodominently feature Emo as a genre, but also that they rely on sources that haven't been fully verified. There was even a source that uses a site that wikipedia themselves consider to be usually unverifiable, yet it still got a pass? That makes no sense, and there needs to be way more consistency with what gets classified because it's gotten way too confusing as to why certain pages are allowed to have tags even if both sonically the listener knows it's wrong, but also can lead to misconceptions, and is even why there's always big arguments of the genres in the first place.

And by the way, the "nice try though" was absolutely unnecessary. I have no ill-will trying to change these, and that was a condescending reaction. Plus, the fact that it resulted in a ban is both unfair and ridiculous. I apologize if it seemed like it was malicious editing, but come on.
