Untitled[edit]

Is every player of the week award needed on this site? Individual performances aren't needed on a team page. Look at other sport pages, both pro and semi pro, and you will see that they don't list PoW awards. LightningOffense 22:57, 29 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • Whether or not information like the POTW awards is included on other teams pages should not be used as a reason for it to be omitted here. Information like this can easily be added and included on those pages should someone wish to take the time to add it. Just because it's "not on every other teams pages" doesn't make it less important, less prestigious, or otherwise unnoteworthy. I feel as though the POTW information should be included because:
  1. Listing the award winners helps to support and verify the UIF Player of the Week Award fact that is listed on the page. Verifiability is important for all wiki articles.
  2. The information is relevant to the team and the team notability.
  3. The players were recognized for these achievements while representing the team.
  4. It improves the content of the page making it a more thorough and complete article.
  5. The information may be helpful to those interested in a more in-depth look at the team's history.
  6. Many other professional sports teams wiki articles include various lists of individual players including a list of the current roster, depth chart, a list of notable alumni or former players, or some combination of all of these. Maybe the addition of this information would further enhance the article and serve as a good supplement to the list of regular season and weekly award winners.
  • Also Note: The section heading of "UIF Awards" is more appropriate than "UIF Weekly Awards" because season ending awards are also present in the list. Many other professional sports wiki sites list their outstanding players whether it be Hall of Famers, Retired Numbers, MVP's, All-Stars, Rookie of the Year, or other full-season honors. Maybe the full season awards should be listed separately from the weekly awards for easier viewing?
  • The information about these award winners is complete and correct, relevant to the subject, 100% verifiable, and presented with a neutral point of view - all of these are exactly the type of information wikipedia needs in its articles. Therefor, I feel as though it is not only acceptable for the POTW and other award winners to be listed, but essential to include this information on the article about the Evansville BlueCats. - Posted 20:59, 24 July 2007 (UTC)

Indiana assessment[edit]

In line citations are needed. External links alone are not sufficient to varify the complete article. External links should be for only directly related links such as an official website. Player of the week stats aren't needed, that information can be included in a notable player article if there is a notable player. Keep the information about the team. -Jahnx (talk) 10:00, 12 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
