Close paraphrasing[edit]

There appears to be close paraphrasing of some of the article content in the Drury Lane section. Examples are:

  • "A year later, she was 'formerly enrolled in the Drury Lane Company as a chorister'. As a chorister, she appeared as the Duke of York in Richard III and as Prince Arthur in King John." -- I'm not sure I understand the quotation marks, since this isn't the type of content that needs to be quoted, and the word "formerly" was not in the source.
  • "The newly constructed Drury Lane Theatre" - this isn't a big deal because part of the sentence was reworded, but the phrase might alert editors to check for copyright violations. It's better to reword.
  • "She gave her farewell performance at Drury Lane on 8 June 1835."

There's some close paraphrasing in the next two sections, mostly because it uses the author's words and still sounds like the author's voice, but there were better attempts at rewording.

Please see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing for information about paraphrasing content to avoid a copyright violation. An example, for the last bullet: "Kelly continued to perform until 8 June 1835. Her final performance was given at Drury Lane."--CaroleHenson (talk) 19:41, 15 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Image[edit]

There's an image on the Oxford DNB page. Using this link, after saving the image on your computer, it can be uploaded. Then, check that it's not your image, enter the source information and {{DB-UK}} at "Another reason not mentioned above" on the 2nd screen. The two categories on the next screen are: Actors from England + Thomas Uwins. If you would like help, let me know.--CaroleHenson (talk) 19:50, 15 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
