Unitarian Universalist[edit]

Religious ties (quote)

Melcher was an active member in the Unitarian Universalist church.[10]

That organization sponsors the FGM Book Award but our article says that it was established by merger in 1961, two years before Melcher's death. Another source title Notable American Unitarians suggests to me Category:Unitarians. --P64 (talk) 16:55, 9 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Sources[edit]

second of two new sections -P64

Notable American Unitarians [ref name=NAU] is confusing. Following the source literally the citation style of this article, I fashioned it thus:

Melcher, Daniel (no date). "Frederic G. Melcher: Dean of American Publishing". Notable American Unitarians. Harvard Square Library (harvardsquarelibrary.org). Retrieved 2009-09-13.
Preface with two reprints(?):
· Melcher, David (1967). "Fred Melcher as I Knew Him". ALA Journal (January).
· [Anonymous?] (1963). "Frederic G. Melcher". Library Journal (April 1).

Compare [ref name=MelcherD]:

Melcher, Daniel (1967). "Fred Melcher as I knew him". ALA Bulletin (61) pp. 56-62.

That NAU page is not clear on the role of Daniel Melcher, or any other person, in relation to its components, the preface and two reprints(?). I wonder whether Daniel and David Melcher are distinct and whether ALA Bulletin and ALA Journal are distinct. I presume there was one 1967 article "Frederic Melcher as I Knew Him", author Daniel or David, published once or reprinted or abridged.
