description as "left wing"[edit]

For what it's worth, the NYPL archives describe the organization as supporting "radical social and economic causes" and " left-wing organizations and enterprises". I'm taking those two words out of the lede and moving them down a paragraph to make it clear by example what they did. Edward Vielmetti (talk) 05:02, 29 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I am one of Charles Garland's grandchildren (Jennifer Wrenn Garland, b.1955). Charles Garland did not end up a poor man. His wealth continued to accumulate and not very long after his death it distributed throught the Mildred D. Wrenn Trust which was the largest trust ever held by State Street Bank of Boston. It's a shame that the money could not have gone to undo what he did with it originally.
