Historical Reference[edit]

The 1972 Geology Field Guide to Southern California, Pp. 40-41 (https://books.google.com/books/about/Geology_Field_Guide_to_Southern_Californ.html?id=0mYSAQAAIAAJ) the problem of disposing of the large percentage of unwanted salts is described. The problem was how to avoid contaminating the ground and surface water further. The author proposed re-injecting the waste brine into deep wells.
