GA Review[edit]

This review is transcluded from Talk:Jack-Tor/GA1. The edit link for this section can be used to add comments to the review.

Looking good. Some suggestions:

  • Jack tells Liz and the writers' of TGS Tracy Jordan - don't need the apostrophe; it's plural, not possessive.
  • The writers' express their reluctance in doing product placements for GE - and again.
  • he admits that he illiterate and agrees to get help - "he is".
  • Tracy gets the message - somewhat informal; maybe reword.
  • Instead of the usual 30 minute episodes - "30-minute" hyphenated.
  • "Jack-Tor" referenced Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip when Liz tries to quote global education statistics, only to realize that she does not know what she is talking about - explain this. How is this a Studio 60 reference?
  • Robert Carlock, the writer of the episode, was nominated for his work for a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Writing in a Comedy Series - maybe move this whole sentence to its own paragraph at the bottom; it doesn't make much sense tagged onto the end of the ratings.
  • Undue weight given to Tom Shales and Robert Canning, IMO. They've got about 7 comments each while MWM only has three - no need to have excessive detail from their reviews. Maybe cut them down a little.

Otherwise, awesome. It'll be on hold for a week so that's how long you'll have to make any changes (thought I doubt you'll need it!). —97198 (talk) 14:33, 25 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I've fixed everything, except for the Studio 60 reference. I haven't seen the show myself; maybe another user can help out here. Corn.u.co.pia / Disc.us.sion 07:55, 26 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Could you ask somebody? —97198 (talk) 07:58, 26 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I'd say remove it because, even if it is a reference, it's not a blatent reference and not all that important. -- [User]Jamie JCA[Talk] 18:04, 26 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
True, I removed it. (There is still enough production info anyways.) Corn.u.co.pia / Disc.us.sion 07:37, 27 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Coolies, I'll promote it to a GA :) —97198 (talk) 08:16, 27 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Focus[edit]

Most of the production section does not seem to b e about this episode. One paragraph describes Star Wars, but only the last sentence references this episode and the previous goes into detail about McBrayer, even though it starts by saying he only briefly appeared in the episode in a non-speaking role. AIRcorn (talk) 07:47, 8 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The star wars paragraph seems to be a copy paste from other episodes e.g. Tracy Does Conan and Jack the Writer. AIRcorn (talk) 07:49, 8 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
