Name at birth/Year of birth[edit]
She was born Josephine Davis in 1912 not 1907 in Saint Paul, Minnesota, the only child of LeRoy Davis and Nina Mae (née Sinks) Davis who were married in St. Paul on November 23, 1910, as per Joan Davis: America's Queen of Film, Radio and Television Comedy by David C. Tucker (Biography, pg. 3), McFarland (March 24, 2014), ASIN B00JH2B0ZG, ISBN 978-0786477845/ISBN 0786477849. Quis separabit? 17:28, 20 April 2016 (UTC)
- I've also seen her birth name as Madonna Josephine Davis. Don't know if this is correct. Kostaki mou (talk) 16:44, 13 March 2021 (UTC)
American Film Institute[edit]
American Film Institute - "The American Film Institute was founded by a 1965 presidential mandate announced in the Rose Garden of the White House by Lyndon B. Johnson—to establish a national arts organization to preserve the legacy of American film heritage, educate the next generation of filmmakers, and honor the artists and their work. Two years later, in 1967, AFI was established, supported by the National Endowment for the Arts, the Motion Picture Association of America and the Ford Foundation."
The above is for informational purposes. — Maile (talk) 20:09, 24 April 2020 (UTC)
Year of birth[edit]
Born 1912 not 1907 per reliable sources including her biography and her gravestone. Unregistered IP 47.143.65.144 changed year of birth. I just caught this and fixed it.
I left a warning at IP's talk page (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=User_talk%3A47.143.65.144#Joan_Davis).
