Cover of the book[edit]

I don't think a description of the cover of O'Beirne's book belongs in the article unless she was closely involved in designing it (even then, I would rather see this move to the article on the book, if one is written). Unless there are objections, I will remove it. CyborgTosser (Only half the battle) 17:58, 12 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Msholtva's edit on 08:10, 2007 April 1[edit]

The original paragraph: "In 1992, President of the United States George H. W. Bush named her to the Presidential Commission on Women in the Armed Forces, although she has never served in the military." Msholtva made an edit that tacked on, in italics: Of course, neither did Abraham Lincoln, Franklin Roosevelt or William Clinton, but we do not dismiss their contributions outright the way the previous phrase implies. Then left a note on the edit that "The phrase preceding this edit shows serious bias against the subject, adding personal opinion framed as a relevant fact."

No, Msholtva. The original is fact and your edit does not merely show blatant bias but is completely irrelevant to facts. Kate O'Beirne has never been president, so your comparison is false. Her relationship and responsibilities to the armed forces, as someone appointed to a commission on women in the armed forces, is very different and much more significant from the responsibilities of the president. That is why commissions are formed in the first place. Rabit 21:53, 1 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

move information about her husband?[edit]

As it relates to James O'Beirne, and not Kate O'Beirne, it would be appropriate to move it to a page about him and remove it from her page, correct? Given that he is or was a fairly important person recently, he would seem to deserve his own page.--BlackAndy 01:45, 19 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It certainly doesn't belong here, and I've removed it. Wasted Time R (talk) 14:48, 1 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

How old is Kate[edit]

Nosey people like me want to know. Also we need a pic of this notable conservative. --149.152.135.85 (talk) 16:55, 3 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Question about capitals[edit]

"deputy assistant secretary for legislation" Does anyone remember if an office title like this one is supposed to be initial caps? I think it is, but not sure. There are a couple of titles like this in the article. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Black Jam Block (talkcontribs) 06:46, 30 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
