Controversy[edit]

Since this is a so called for-profit school shouldn't there be a controversy section listed especially since the school was currently listed/had a lawsuit against it in aug-oct 2010.--Cooly123 17:41, 16 November 2010 (UTC)

Deleted False Sentence[edit]

I have deleted the sentence (without a citation) that says, "In 2010 there was a lawsuit brought against the company due to miscalculation of profits for the year." I have done a lot of research on Lincoln Tech and can find no such lawsuit. If this sentence is restored, it must have a citation. Hanxu9 (talk) 23:17, 2 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Citation clean-up: Removed sentence stating that "In 2015, Lincoln Education began phasing out of all of its 18 healthcare campuses.^[1]" as it is both inaccurate and improperly cited. I have deleted the paragraph "In 2015, the Commonwealth of Massachusetts filed a complaint against the corporation alleging violations of the Massachusetts Consumer Protection Act from 2010 to 2013. Lincoln Education paid $850,000 to the Attorney General and agreed to forgive $165,000 of student debt.^[1] The State of Maryland's Attorney General also issued an administrative subpoena requesting detailed information about its Columbia, Maryland campus.^[1]" due to inaccurate citation. Corporate entity[edit]

Isn't this article mashing together the corporate entity, "Lincoln Educational Services Corporation", with the Lincoln Group of Schools? Seems to me information that would technically fall under the corporate heading (such as the stock info) could go on a different page under the Lincoln Educational Services Corporation title. I'm editing this page accordingly, and creating a corporate page with the redacted information placed there. Any thoughts on this? I don't think so, there's no practical distinction between a corporation and its assets. And these are for-profit schools, no need to softpeddle on that. I just created a page for Lincoln Educational Services as a redirect so that this article will capture that search traffic. Ok that makes sense. For now I'm going to do some edits on organization, comprehensiveness, and accuracy. In terms of organization, to me it makes sense to list the campuses after the introduction. The intro would be the overview, and then we'd dive into the campus specificity, and then specific History, and then the Lawsuits etc. It seems to me the stock talk and refinance info during the intro would be more appropriate in a different section. I've created a "Public Offering" section, and I removed the info about LINC refinancing their loan, because I feel it doesn't really lead anywhere. I guess I'm wondering why the reader would be interested in hearing they refinanced their loan. Rather, I think the reader would be more served if there were more information on campus closings, openings, etc. As far as I know there isn't more of that type of info right now. Also, I found this statement, "In 2014, The New York Times reported that 50% of Lincoln's programs fail the gainful employment test. This means that a significant number of former students cannot repay their student loans", seems inaccurate. The NY Times article (http://www.nytimes.com/2014/07/03/upshot/corinthian-colleges-is-closing-its-students-may-be-better-off-as-a-result.html?smid=tw-nytimes&_r=2&abt=0002&abg=1) cited says "Lincoln College" in the graph, not Lincoln Tech. The two are separate entities. NOTE: "Lincoln Group Of Schools" is long obsolete - this should be changed to "Lincoln Tech", as this is the trademarked brand name of the school owned by Lincoln Education Services Corporation.^[2]
