Episode Names With "-pay"[edit]

A number of episodes have "-pay" appended to them for no apparent reason (unless there's a Wikipedia standard I'm not aware of). I cannot find "-pay" in any episode name in the Gilmore Girls DVD liner notes nor online. @AlexTheWhovian: Hi there, I'm responding to this edit. Believe me when I say I wish AYITL wasn't a part of the original show, and I personally like to pretend it isn't, but I think that formally it needs to be considered as such. It's 100% a continuation - there are no completely new storylines, almost the entire cast returned, and there's very few new characters (certainly none of any significance). I don't believe any journalist reported it as a "reboot", or anything that implies a distinct series. It's considered a new chapter of the old show. It's right that we have a separate article for the revival but only in the way that we also have separate articles for each season. When it comes to unifying and listing all episodes, it makes no sense to exclude AYITL. --Loeba (talk) 20:05, 2 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

It may need to be considered as such, but at the moment, it is not and has not been for months, and we need consistency between all of the articles. Note that the article for the original series lists 7 seasons and 153 episodes, with an original release date range of October 5, 2000 – May 15, 2007. The Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life article uses {{Infobox television}} with a count of 1 season and 4 episodes, which is used for series, rather than {{Infobox television season}}, which would indicate that it is a separate season. We cannot list this information as it is and also include it on this article, there is too much inconsistency. Per the original link above from last year, I provided another example of a continuation of a series that has been split on Wikipedia. -- Alex^TW 21:35, 2 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

It seems a shame to exclude it purely for infobox formalities, and I feel like there must be a way around that...? Like, the infobox for the parent article could say "7 seasons + special miniseries" and "153 episodes + 4 revival episodes"? Something like that. @AlexTheWhovian: So I've tried this for the infobox on the parent article "No. of seasons: 7 + special miniseries" "No. of episodes: 153 + 4 special episodes". What do you think? Now that I've fixed it, it's still incredibly inconsistent, and should be restored. I think I may bring this up at the WikiProject Television, as articles such as Heroes and Twin Peaks also use a separated format. -- Alex^TW 01:17, 7 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
