Fastest hat-trick[edit]

Sources provide conflicting information about whether Kerr's 2017 hat-trick is the fastest. The only other hat-trick in less than 13 minutes is Christine Sinclair's 2014 hat-trick against Boston, which spanned half-time of the match and included at least 2 minutes of first-half stoppage time. ESPN and the Star Tribune call it the fastest hat-trick in NWSL history. The NWSL and The Equalizer call Kerr's the second-fastest, but don't name the fastest hat-trick.

Both hat-tricks have surviving footage with unofficial timing (Sinclair, Kerr); Sinclair's takes 21 seconds longer when including stoppage, but stating this without an editorial source in the article would be WP:OR.

The NWSL doesn't publish official records. The Keeper Notes NWSL Almanac maintained by Jen Cooper lists Sinclair's as the fastest hat trick (p. 373 of the 2020 edition) but lists only match-reported goal times (36' to 46') that suggest it took less than 11 minutes, and doesn't note the hat-trick spanning the half or including stoppage time. Kerr accomplished her hat-trick entirely within regulation. -Socccc (talk) 20:18, 24 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
