I think we need to limit this list a little. Just listing every documentary would be kind of worthless. If you think about it, most shows on the History Channel, Biography, Discovery Channel etc. are documetaries. A massive list of these wouldn't help anyone. What is this article? A "list of documentaries"? Documentary films (it would appear)? What use could this possibly be? There are tens of thousands of documentary films extant. As such, this list could never become nearly comprehensive without becoming redundant and irrelevant. Some kind of editorial guideline must be established: for example, documentary films with theatrical release in the United States. I think this list should include only entries of existing articles on documentaries. There is a list for films without article, for red links. Hoverfish 00:27, 9 November 2006 (UTC)\

clean-up

List of documentaries

WP:Films reassessment

A request was made at WP:FILMS assessment department asking for a reassessment of this article. Because it is a list, the only two classes it can be are "List" class (which it currently is), or a "Featured list" which is determined after going through the featured list nomination process. The article should look at the featured list criteria to determine how the article can reach this status. As a side note, I'd recommend having all of the films being placed in italics and expand the lead. If you have further questions, please contact me or the assessment department. Documentaries about Film and animation History

What needs to be done

  • Create tables for all sectionsDONE
  • Add director/s and/or producer/s if any listings are with-out
  • Add realiable references for every listing - IMDB is not considered realiable; Official documentary websites are preferred if available, otherwise Google/Bing are your friends.
  • Add more documentarys; this will always be on going - keep in mind this list is for documentarys only found on wikipedia
  • general typo errors
  • maintain alphabetical order
  • An expansion of the lead paragraph is desired

Tables have all been fixed to sort appropriately. Titles have been altered so they sort right (eg. Inconvenient Truth, An). User:ArmedCalculator (talk) 11:22, 1 January 2012 (UTC)
