Reorganisation[edit]

Would anyone object if I reorganised this list? Electoral wards are related to local government, not to the UK/Wales parliaments. It doesn't make much sense (and creates some awkward overlaps) to list the wards according to the parliamentary constituences. Far better, in my view, would be to list them by local authority area. I would go as far to say they could still be organised by (1) preserved counties, then (2) current local authority areas. Sionk (talk) 20:08, 26 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, I'm about to try and salvage some common sense from this list. The current principal areas seem to fit seamlessly into the boundaries of the pre-1996 preserved counties. Therefore it seems useful to keep the wards listed by preserved county, but in turn to subdivide these into current principal area (and county council).
Anyway, I notice the source for this info - http://www.opsi.gov.uk/si/si2006/20061041.htm - already lists the wards by principal area, so how hard should this be! Sionk (talk) 23:11, 5 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
That is to say, the post-2010 preserved counties. None of them match anything used before 1996, but they do seem to be very popular here. Aoeuidhtns (talk) 11:49, 29 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
