Removal of Listcruft claim[edit]

There has been a wave of online marketplaces that are changing behavior in different verticals. Forbes ran a pretty good story on the wave of online service marketplaces [1] this past year and as will become evident in the list I'm putting together - via the financing and overall Web traffic - collectively, online marketplaces are a significant area of interest worth further exploration and documentation.

Inclusion requirements for list[edit]

To help keep this list clean and focused, I'd propose that some empirical threshold be established. Open to suggestions but I'd propose that services must fulfill the following:

  1. The service is currently active.
  2. The service has been publicly available for at least 3 years.
  3. The service has a global Alexa page ranking that is lower than 100,000.
  4. An impartial, news publication has written about the service.

Distinguishing between service and product marketplaces[edit]

Perhaps 'online marketplace' is too general a term. Bifurcating the list into service and product marketplaces, may be a better way to compartmentalize the list. Driftreality (talk) 17:36, 6 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Oceansum.se[edit]

Upon review, this site certainly seems more suited for the e-commerce page. Driftreality (talk) 17:35, 6 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Third-party claim[edit]

There is no clarification of which sources are subject to the third-party claim. Removing maintenance template until some clarification is provided. Driftreality (talk) 17:53, 6 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Please provide clarification on which section(s) are in violation, which would warrant this claim. Driftreality (talk) 17:55, 6 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

potential editnotice issue?[edit]

Template:Editnotices/Page/List of online marketplaces reads "the online marketplace must be notable, which means it must have an article written first. Redlinks or entries not linked to an article will be removed" seems to technically violate WP:LISTCOMPANY, as listed items need only meet WP:GNG criteria at maximum, which doesn't always correlate with a a Wikipedia article already existing. I would think something like Template:Dynamic list editnotice would make a lot more sense here, and better follow Wikipedia guidelines. Yitzilitt (paid) (talk) 01:57, 13 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
