Untitled[edit]

Removed the line "Mary has been portraited in "The Other Boleyn Girl" (2008) and performed by Scarlett Johansson. It is assumed in the film she did gave birth to king's son." Actually she did remarry. She married Edmund Scott (another prominent family in Essex) and had a son named Thomas Scott and other children. I have found this through recent genealogical research. Bluedragon3877 (talk) 16:05, 12 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Arthur's sexuality activity[edit]

"Fearful that too much sexual activity had hastened his elder brother Arthur's death..." is uncited. What grounds did Henry have to believe his brother indulged himself excessive vely or even moderately, when there is considerable doubt as to whether Arthur's short marriage was even consummated? Did Henry know him to be a chronic masturbator, for example? In which case, Henry's advice to his illegitimate son not to lie with his own wife doesn't ring true, or smacks rather of an attempt to manipulate the couple and, following the young Duke of Richmond's premature death, to try to deny Mary her dowage. 83.104.249.240 (talk) 19:19, 18 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

“Lady Mary Howard”?[edit]

Don’t think she was ever titled “Lady Mary Howard”. That would have meant she was the wife of a knight with the surname “Howard”. They didn’t start using courtesy titles until later. Lady Meg (talk) 03:57, 18 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Not even sure she was known as “Lady Mary Fitzroy…” think she was just “Mary, Duchess of Richmond and Somerset” like the portrait is titled in the RCT, the portrait by Holbein. Would think she was at least “Lady Mary, Duchess of Richmond…” One woman is trying to tell me the daughters of Dukes from this time period automatically became “Lady” and used it with their maiden name. People even say the daughters become “Lady” when their fathers become Earls. Like people have tried to give courtesy titles to people like Mary Boleyn saying she would have been known as “Lady Mary Boleyn” when her father became Earl. Anyone? I mean I could be wrong.
