about photos and other development[edit]

Some notes about getting photos of these sites. While creating articles about many, especially ones without photos yet, I have fixed some coordinates and otherwise made some notes in the new articles. Some of the issues/questions are below. @Ntsimp:. Feel free to update, add notes, whatever, or ignore completely. :) Just hoping to help. --Doncram (talk) 17:39, 20 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

  • Harold W. and Evelyn Burton House, in Holladay, Utah. Home of architect Harold W. Burton; did he design it? This mansion looks like it will be invisible from the street. Is set back in narrow lot, nothing visible from Google Streetview. To get pics probably requires contacting owner in advance to arrange to visit. NRHP document was written by owner, in 2017, who gives phone number in document, page 18, so appears likely to welcome interest, visit. Maybe they would have more about Burton, too. Also the PDF for it is only available to me within weird PDfiller version, linked in article. It would make sense to request in advance a regular copy from the National Park Service before visiting. If get that in PDF form, i guess i'd like to be sent a copy, too.
  • Allsop-Jensen House, 8829 S. 400 East, in Sandy. It appears to me the c.1874 barn is gone. Maybe it was moved somewhere else? Perhaps the owner could be contacted about that, also to see about getting to the back of their property. Hmm, owner back in 1996 was "Sandy Properties". Perhaps searching newspapers etc. would turn up something if barn was moved or demolished, though I couldn't easily find anything about that. Visit to site would still allow pics of house from street. Maybe could inquire at house or at the houses around the corner, and behind, where the barn was, though maybe no one there nowadays would know about the barn.
Pioneer Millstone? in Evergreen Avenue Historic District
  • Evergreen Avenue Historic District, for this like other historic districts, it would be great to get a number of pics of specific buildings in the district. The 2016 photo of a monument at right is apparently of a 1936-placed monument. Seems sort of like a sign or historic marker indicating a historic neighborhood, which in other cases we usually do not much like; it's preferable to get pics of the actual historic resources themselves. Here i understand the monument itself is historic and is a recognized resource in the district, although altered apparently by the modern plaque upon it. Anyhow it would be good to get more pics of the district.
  • Jordan School District Administration Building appears to me that it has likely been demolished. Historic photos perhaps could be obtained by contacting the school district or a local library? E.g. stop by or call Sandy Library, 10100 Petunia Way, Sandy, UT 84092 / Phone: (801) 943-4636.
