reliance on primary sources[edit]

Hi - please read WP:MEDRS. This article has a lot of sourcing problems. I'm sorry if your instructor didn't go over our medical sourcing standards, but Wikipedia doesn't allow the use of primary sources etc in articles about medicine, and greatly prefers the use of review articles published in the last decade unless no such sources are available. I'm going to drop some cleanup tags on the page until the sourcing problems are addressed. Thanks, Kevin Gorman (talk) 00:33, 19 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Kevin. Thank you for your comments and your help. I have attempted to fix some of the referencing issues that you brought up. Additionally, I do not believe that this is a medical article. It is more related to engineering than it is to health and health issues. I have not targeted this article toward any diseases or many of the medical aspects of stiffness control but rather the mechanics of stiffness control and how the nervous system interacts with the body's mechanics. As for referencing, I am continuing to look for additional secondary sources, but I have added more references for the time being.Harrisonbartlett (talk) 01:45, 24 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I added PMIDs (where available) to citations. You can do the same with DOIs if you can find those. These are now linked. If you click on them, you'll find the abstract on Pubmed. There, try following the "cited by", "related" and "reviews" links to look for more recent and higher quality (secondary) sources. Good hunting.
